    Death In The Family

Anyone who does mind the updates can take a running jump into the nearest river, as they say up here. Best wishes again to you and your sister, LB. I hope you get as much time as possible left with your sister.

    The 3rd Death Of 2011

Herbert Lom. It feels like that kind of a year.

    Death In The Family

LB, sorry to hear about your sister. It's never an easy time for any family, my thoughts are with you at this time. Phil, sorry for your loss. Claire sounds like she was a great friend to have had. In the last two months I've lost four family members (yes, 2011 has started wonderfully here) including three very close ones (curse of a large family, I guess) so I can understand all too well how you'd feel.

Balls! I've only just realised he wasn't on my 2011 DDP team. I thought I'd extended my lead and was feeling all smug for about thirty seconds. He was on the unofficial msc Shadow Deathlist though, based on your own information. That makes 6/50 for the year, and 2 in 24 hours. I just need Jaruzelski or Demjanjuk to pop off tonight to make it a hattrick.

    Michael Gough

Well they do say it's the quiet ones you gotta watch. When was the last time he was heard from or appeared in public, does anyone know? He did voice work for a video within the last 2 months so presumably recently!

Mine was Jesse Helms (July 2008) which has to date my favourite opening to any of the main page write ups. /useless info. BBC link

Seven or eight. It was when Fignon passed I think. In fact, in The 5th Death of 2009 guess thread...

    Michael Gough

Link Either I am slow or the link from VSB wasn't working, so there's another. Sad, he was a great actor. And I'd say that even if he wasn't in some of my favourite TV shows at one point. (On the other hand, my shadow deathlist now has 5 hits out of 50 by March. That's not bad going for a first attempt at this sort of thing, I guess.)

    Deathlist Dreaming

Last night in the middle of an unimportant dream, I dreamt there was a death notice on this very forum concerning archivist Dick Fiddy. Bit of a random insertion into a dream, I thought. Given I've dreamt the deaths of 3 people in the last 3 months that then went on to die within the week... if Mr Fiddy does surprise us all and drop dead in the near future, it's not my fault.

Former Thistle manager. Came in too late to save us from relegation to the 2nd division but took us up via the playoffs the season after. Got a lot of stick from the fans but was far better than a lot of his predecessors. (And a nicer man than his current successor) I wish him all the best. You're a Partick Thistle supporter? I am. They're the family's team (well, my mums side of the family, my dad's side are all massive Celtic fans).

You sure about this? There's been no mention on any wrestling news sites, at least not that I know of. Aware that he has some form of liver disease JR says somethings up

    British Science Fiction Series

I am particularly gutted at that news .Im a massive Doctor Who fan and thi s is the biggest loss since Jon Pertwee in 1996. R.I.P Nick Very sad news. Great man. Expected since news broke of his pancreatic cancer though, sadly. Noted this emoticon just so I could go "Chap with wings" in tribute, and forever mark myself done as a geek. Ahem.

Authors Last A Long Time, But....

He was on a bus in the 1990s when he over heard two old ladies mentioning how he'd died years ago. Absolutely loved Paddington as a kid. He's happily retired with his wife last I heard.

That's a shame. I remember him managing one of my favourites Bam Bam Bigelow back in the 80s.

Did he ever work for WWE? I have no recollection of him I was thinking the same thing, maybe he was a jobber. :/ Ahem... Worked for the WWF for 4 years in the 80s apparently.

Did he ever work for WWE? I have no recollection of him He was a jobber in the 80s under the name of Johnny K9 or something like that. He was offered a spot in the 1988 royal rumble but couldn't make it. He also once formed a jobber tag team with Barry O, uncle of current WWE star Randy Orton. Other than that, I draw a blank. I did however see Shawn Osbourne in the Hart Dynasty's first match in WWE developmental a few years ago. He's our January wrestler suicide of the year.

    Old Folkies Home

Anne Feeney has MAC (a nasty sounding version of TB) and requires lengthy medication for that, but her last PET scan showed no cancer. Though, according to her, "80% of small cell lung cancer patients who have made it as far as I have and as well as I have will still get a recurrence of the cancer within two years -- and the new tumors will not respond to treatment. So, it'll really be October of 2012 before I can say I've taken a big step out of the woods." On a related topic, DDT, you bringing her name up in December introduced a lot of the folkies I know to her music, so thanks!

    William Gladstone Stewart

He's what the man himself said about it.... Unlike Holness (and his ninety strokes), I don't expect WGS to go any time soon. Unless he's masking ill health with ageism...

    2011 Death List

I'd forgotten about The Digger, haven't heard of it since I left Glasgow, you are right it is a grubby paper, mainly focussing on the criminal underworld of Glasgow, if memory serves correctly. I'm sure it's not of any interest to other DL'ers, but I wouldn't mind seeing their attempt at a Glasgow Deathlist if you have time to post it msc, although I think I can guess who might be on it. It's been binned now, the paper: rescued it from the bin to type up the quotes, but the bins gone out now. It was all members of the underworld, I believe. And the owner of a website about gangs. Can't remember names (one of them was a group of brothers).
