He's already dead anyway. Typical. I was going to put him into one of the other DDP teams just to test the Daily Mail...
-
No, he didn't, that's an internet error. Maranne was alive as of 2015.
-
It's going to be Glen Campbell, I think.

So there's 39 survivors (as it stands) of the 2016 list. Now I'd guess Mary Tyler Moore, Tommy Chong, Doug Ellis, Sandy Gall, Robert Pirsig, Lester Piggott, Gazza, Gordon Banks and Murray Walker are getting dropped, based on previous trends. We can also safely guess that de Haivlland, Graham, Wouk, de Cuellar, Douglas, Sallis, Prince Philip, Clive James, Joost, Bush Sr, Vera Lynn and Jake Lamotta will keep their usual spots. Then we have folk are clearly tottering or ill enough to warrant a return: Leslie Philips, Glen Campbell, Desmond Tutu, Bruce Forsyth and Jacques Chirac, imo. That's 17 spots, meaning the last eight returnees from 2016 will be eight from the following thirteen: 9 44 3 Richard Adams 96 Watership Down author 17 3 James Randi 88 Magician / Skeptic 18 2 Lord (Peter) Carrington 97 UK Politician 20 27 4 Bob Dole 93 Politican 22 1 Prunella Scales 84 Sybil Fawlty 23 1 Jimmy Carter 92 Ex US President 24 34 5 Henry Kissinger 93 Diplomat 32 8 Fats Domino 88 Singer 37 3 Stan Lee 94 Marvel comics 41 33 4 Denis Norden 94 Comic / TV Presenter 43 1 Jimmy Greaves 76 Footballer / pundit 47 3 Stephen Hawking 74 Theoretical Physicist 49 1 John Noakes 82 Blue Peter Presenter

She finished in 95th place in the vote. Which is an improvement on her vote for 2017 so far.

388 users are online. Fucking hell. 484 an hour ago - Smith and Michael = ratings.

All that talk of a bad year for the Deathlist. 11/50 puts it bang into "above average" territory.
-
95 is fine innings, and she outlived her TV granddaughter. So, we've never had an 11/50 year, so that suggests there's one more hit in the year.

I could say "damn I hoped 18 would be unique" but this would be the only pool I'd use them in...

According to twitter, Alphonse Mouzon, who I was doing the "certain to die within weeks, will he get an obit?" guesses, takes the dilemma out of my hands.
-
This reminds me of the Rory Bremner as Gerry Adams bit: "Nelson Mandela, goes into jail a terrorist, comes out 27 years later a statesman. I did it in half the time! I wasn't a terrorist, of course..."
-
I'm keeping an eye on the short list.
-
I was looking up Careless Whisper on YouTube for an obit, went away from the computer and when I came back, it was playing Lionel Richie's Say you Love Me thanks to the YouTube autoplay. It's a sign, a sign that YouTube autoplay has shit taste in music.

Jimmy Bain too. Not in the same league of big names, I admit, but he did play bass on Holy Diver. -
Entered a team for the hell of it. An automatic 7 point deduction will swiftly follow due to my long held faith in the Committee's ability to pick Robert Hardy.

In fairness, she died on December 31st last year. Merle Haggard was a fairly big though, and mostly forgotten in the carnage that was 2016. -
13 lists in. Currently top is sort of a lifetime achievement award (a deathtime achievement award in 2017, perhaps) for an actor I suspect many on here are fairly fond of. I know I am. Second, as it stands, is a Deathlist icon, and only two points separate 1st and 2nd currently. In third, a royal. Still plenty of time to get a list in. Last year the biggest deluge was in this post-Christmas to New Years Eve period.

Beeb released their tribute video on Friday and since - Piers Sellers, Rick Pariff, George Michael... -
Me and my family googled her for health info when the royle family was on the other night. The poster on Ds has been a member for years and her post history suggests she is genuine.Liz Smith needs to stay on DL 2017.She is starting to get to a Clive Dunn scenario where everyone assumes she is already dead. See, this is where you think "Look at all these ill celebs, its shooting fish in a barrel", and then at midnight on the 1st, it's "where's the Queen? Insert Cancer Ridden Person Here? Brady? etc Who the fuck is Grigory Barenblatt?" and so on.
-
Damn it, the Last Christmas gag was right there and I fecked it up.
-
Took him to the centre of heaven now.

I was busy most of today and will be tomorrow. Will start planning various teams on the 27th/28th. Bernard Hepton's still alive, I guess...
-
I had a feeling you'd said something like that, but...long day, couldn't be arsed using the search engine. Anyhow, the intent was there...

Musicians tend to be a good source of DDP hits, iirc.
