I know they made a big deal out of the 45th anniversary of Just a Minute last year as ol' Nick isn't expected to be around for the 50th. I half expect him to be around in 4 years though, he is Nicholas Bloody Parsons after all.

Those who haven't heard of Nicholas Parsons are missing out on a lot of great stuff, incidentally. Only person I hadn't heard of was Stritch, who I have only seen in one episode of Tales of the Unexpected apparently. I'll conservatively guess about 11 hits (among the low hangers), though I remain convinced Chavez is doing a Castro, and Reg Presley might just hang on now.

Aye, lang may yer lum reek, everyone.

A preview of things to come... (Insert Person Here) should have made the list... "This will get double figures!" "No Deaths in two months. Has Death finally given up?" "Hi, I'm a guest. Here's some random person no one has heard of who should have gone on your list, oops, he's dead already..." And other such memorable hits, all yours to see and adore in 2013...

Depending on the Montalcini points (and she got all the necessary obits), I was somewhere between 70 and 80 (admittedly joint), with 7/20. For a debut season I don't think thats half bad, especially given how I came up with half the names at a guess in a last minute decision to join in. Now watch 2nd season syndrome kick in...
-
Aye, I'm all for them joining in, the more the merrier.

Hillary Clinton in hospital with a blood clot following a concussion. The immediate connection of those two isn't usually a good thing. EDIT - I'm always too slow a typer, me.
-
Only 31 and half hours to get a pukka obit... Well, ITV have, so others should follow.

Nah, Number 1 in 2004 was JP2!

Fontella Bass has died aged 72. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwt3kr0_l6I This is either her great contribution to music kind or her great curse, your mileage may vary.

BBC's attributed comment by Bush is fairly lucid for someone on his way out immediately...unless they knew this was coming and had it to hand.
-
Luise Rainer, Carla Laemmle, Olivia and Joan, Mauren, Mary Carlisle, Alicia Rhett for starters...

So the ideal candidate is a unique pick member of the Belgian royal family, better known for crimes against humanity, who once appeared both on Celebrity Squares and pantomine, and is unlikely to die but was found murdered by a bongo in a swimming pool on Notapotato's birthday.

Opinions, opinions. Anyway, you cant compare the 60s TV series with the films AND if you didnt think she was as sexy as f**k as Catwoman you would have to have been Dale winton. So there. Oh, I happen to enjoy the 60s TV series more than nearly all the modern films. I just preferred Eartha Kitt. (Neither massively popular opinions, I admit.)

You know that chap Mark Williams-Thomas who seems to love the sound of his own voice, but did the doc which started all this? He posts on Twitter. Is all I'm saying for safety. EDIT - Or you know, Sky...

Interesting - why Borgonovo and Nolan - I would've said they are pretty strong candidates? I've got 16 of my 20 locked in, so I've got space for last minute entries and to weigh up between Nolan, Buell, Presley and Talabani... 5 year medium survival rate, diagnosed 2008, wasn't Borgonovo? ALS and motor neurone type diseases get folk in the end. Del Deanus, the former Edgware Town manager mentioned a few times on here, died last month, but he seemed to have disappeared off the radar. Mind you, I only remembered him because I stumbled across CP's old mega post the other day looking for hints...

Julie Newmar... not the best Batman villain ever. Hell, not even the best Adam West Catwoman.

Shall be entering this again after Christmas. We always need cannon fodder after all.

My list tends to be split into hunches, folk likely going to die and wishful thinking. In 2012, however, this has resulted in 5 likely to die (ie terminally ill) hits, 1 hunch, and absolutely no wishful thinking successes. There's a lesson there.
-
Well, I don't think I did too badly for a rookie this year so I've entered for 2013 too. Without spoiling in advance, one of my picks I have the feeling might be close to an unique one (don't think they've ever been mentioned on here...) but my joker almost certainly wont be.

6/20 by December 1st, and a place in the top 100 isn't bad for a first shot, I guess!

This shows the error in jumping first to report a death. I heard of Pertwee's demise last night from three separate but highly credible sources who are rarely wrong. I refrained from mentioning it due to lack of news report to go with it then, just "insider info". Then, when I woke up there, my wife tells me he's had the greatest comeback since Mark Twain. Sometimes caution is good, to avoid looking like a random guest of ill repute.
-
Last I heard he was still lucid, and moaning about the Brazilian football coach who has been sacked. If anything, he's probably treating potential death and rumours of his demise in the same way he treated being 102 and so on, and more power to him.

Who Should Be On The 2013 Deathlist?
msc replied to harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy's topic in DeathList Forum
Greek Thomson, but thats a rather Scottish specific answer, I'd gather.
