You'd need a fair amount of brain to house one of them, right? Drugs, then. I still think it's something worse than drug problems.

Indulge in a spot of vodka eyeballing. I bet they'd have much more fun putting LSD in their eyes instead. -

Another year, another overdose. Maybe she'll get it right one day, even if it was only "an accident" this time.

Paul Gray, 38, bassist for hilariously stupid death metallers Slipknot and an enthusiastic dabbler in drugs, has been found dead in his hotel room.

Conductor Claudio Abbado, mentioned several times before on DL, is unwell again, he is ill enough to have cancelled two much anticipated homecoming gigs. The wording of the article looks a bit ominous.

On this day in 1536, Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII was beheaded for committing adultery and treason. -
Floyd Landis, who won the 2006 Tour De France title and was then stripped of his crown for doping offences, has finally admitted his guilt after four years of protesting his innocence. He has also taken the opportunity to accuse his former team mate Lance Armstrong of using preformance enhancing drugs. Nice article here by William Fotheringham about how banned cyclists often so emphatically deny cheating, that they start to believe their own lies.

It's nice to see that a representative of the cephalopod community appears to have made it on to Inter Milan's new away kit. -
The Right Rev. Kenneth Stevenson, the former Anglican Bishop of Portsmouth, was interviewed on Sunday for a Radio 4 feature about the ethics of assisted dying. During the interview he briefly alluded to his own health problems, but wasn't very specific. I've looked him up and according to his Wiki page, he was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2006 and retired due to ill health last year.

No news on Jake LaMotta, but his cousin Richard Lamotta, 67, inventor of the Chipwich, has died of a heart attack. In some Polynesian countries, where obesity and diabetes are particularly prevalent, a Chipwich or two makes for a very popular breakfast (I just thought I'd share that bit of useless information with you).

According to someone on Twitter, veteran organist Rosa Rio is in hospital in Tampa, Florida after falling and breaking her hip... ...I like Twitter. She's dead.

Dennis Hopper's estranged wife says he is well enough to appear in court. He's doing well to maintain any sort of social calender if he's getting through that much pot.

The disappointingly named Edward Uhl, co-inventor of the bazooka, has expired at the age of 92. I always naively assumed that the inventor of the bazooka was called Mr Bazooka - just like the inventor of the kalashnikov is called Mr Kalashnikov - or even if he was the co-inventor rather than solely responsible, he might have been called Mr Ba or Mr Zooka.

Sultan Tengku Ismail Petra, the titular ruler of northern Kelantan state in Malaysia , is reported to be very ill with heart problems.
