    The Dead Of 2008

I think not, somehow. Tsk, tsk. But anyway, I was meaning to post that Hollywood stuntwoman Alice Van-Springsteen has followed hot on the heals of fellow stuntwoman Hazel Warp by dying of old age.

    Dead Drummers

Travis Barker, the drummer for Blink 182, is critically ill after surviving a plane crash which killed four other passengers

    Paul Gascoigne

I would like to suggest that Paul Gascoigne should be included on the 2009 Deathlist. He meets the fame requirements, isn't suffering from a terminal disease, yet his rapidly deteriorating psychological and physical health coupled with his complete inability to kick drink and drugs, gives us real hope that he might come a cropper next year.

    Room 101

I agree with Windsor here, we are far too tolerant in this country of bad drivers. False indicators should be pulled out of their cars and beheaded at the side of the road, that would teach them not to do it again.

    Farrah Fawcett

No news on Farrah, but this thread is as good as any to report that her ex Ryan O'Neal and her son Redmond have both been arrested for drug possession. There is no father/son bonding activity quite like being busted together for methamphetamine.

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...

The Wikipedia page of Burhanuddin Rabbani, who was President of Afghanistan for five weeks in 2001, states that he died on September 15th. I can't find any news reports to confirm his demise, so I'm guessing he lives, but he does seem like quite an obscure choice for a Wiki vandal.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2009

Depressed celebrity chef Antonio Carluccio has admitted himself to The Priory. He was hospitalised last week after stabbing himself in the chest with a kitchen knife. He'd be a good punt for the DDP next year, next time he could put his head in a blender or cook himself on gas mark six for forty minutes. Moving on, Lee Kuan Yew, who was Prime Minister of Singapore for a very long time (1959-1990 to be precise), is recovering after suffering "an atrial flutter". Not sure if that's a delicate way of saying he's had a heart attack, but worth knowing about.

    Didn't Wake Up This Morning...

Clarence 'Gatemouth' Brown has also fallen victim to Hurricaine Ike, three years after he died. The cemetery where he was resting peacefully was flooded and his casket "floated away". http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/tx/6002915.html

    Wrestlers/actors

Former WWF star Jake "The Snake" Roberts, is still wrestling despite addictions to crack cocaine and alcohol. He's in the news for a particularly shambolic preformance over the weekend. Link with video of the event here.

Please Let It Be... Paul McCartney

A hardline Halibut cleric has said that suicide bombers will target Paul McCartney unless he cancels an upcoming gig to celebrate Israel's 60th anniversary.

Are We All To Die When CERN Sort Themselves Out?

Well, I'm very worried about this. Despite learned people assuring me we'll all be fine, I don't see how you can be 100% sure there won't be any problems until it is too late to do anything about it. This is potentially worse than nuclear war. We can't exactly run to the hills, or escape to a bunker. We'll just have to sit tight and hope we are not spaghettified and sucked in to the vortex before we know what's happened. If we are spaghettified, will there be time for it to hurt? And shouldn't this thread by merged with the "Humanity" thread, where this matter has already been discussed? We should get our affairs in order before we prepare to meet thy doom.

    The Dead Of 2008

Former commando frogman Lieutenant Commander Ian Fraser, VC, DSC, RD and Bar, has died at the age of 87. Well done to "They All End Up Smelling The Same, Anyway" who scores a unique pick on the DDP.

    The Dead Of 2008

Is this guy obit worthy as defined by - say - CPDP rules? Bit of a long shot as far as I can see but I've never heard of him before. Well, he's just died. Await the flood of broadsheet obits.

    Will Ill Kill Phil Hill?

Sad news OoO, that's how I felt when Janez Drnovsek died...although I did have him on my DDP team, which helped a bit. That's the thing with Parkinson's, you can live with the disease for years, but it has so many potential serious side affects that the end can be very sudden.

    Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama has been hospitalised after experiencing abdominal pains. Maybe he found China's Olympic success hard to stomach.
