    Near Misses for 2005

According to the news he had a massive heart attack at the weekend - so I couldn't have seen him in Sainsburys on Monday. It must have been the Monday before.

    Near Misses for 2005

I am rather shocked to read about the death of Ted Wragg - I saw him in Sainsburys in Exeter on Monday and he was looking fine. A sad loss.

    Pete Doherty

I wonder what happened to Poppet - I enjoyed our frank exchange of views about Mr Doherty. Perhaps she has seen the light and turned in to a Motorhead groupie...

Pretty Irrelevant But Its Bothering Me

I'm afraid to say that I haven't got a clue what any of you are talking about. Should I print this thread out and bring it to my IT evening class tonight?

Nick Du Toit / Simon Mann / Mark Thatcher

The more I research this , the more sure I am that Nick will be a gonner in 2006.

They didn't look after this foreigner very well: German national Gerhard Eugen Nershz died on 17 March. The authorities said he had died of "cerebral malaria with complications". He was transported to hospital from the prison some hours before his death and people who saw him reported that he appeared to have severe injuries caused by torture on his hands and feet He was arrested at the same time as Du Toit.

    David Blunkett

He might be suicidal, after all he has lost two jobs, two mistresses and one child that he thought was his in the last year. Fact for the day: David Blunkett's father died after falling in to a vat of boiling water.

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2006

Er, King Fahd's passing must have escaped my attention. As for Prince Philip, he might be in very good health but he is in his 80s and still goes carriage racing, a lethal combination in my opinion.

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2006

My choices for 2006 - well half of them anyway: 1) George Best 2) Fernanc Puskas 3) Prince Philip 4) George W Bush 5) Liz Taylor 6) Mohammed Zahir Shah - former king of Afghanistan 7) Dennis Norden 8) Boris Yeltsin 9) Saddam Hussain 10) Nick du Toit 11) King: Taufa'ahau Tupou IV 12) Whitney Houston 13) Zsa Zsa Gabor 14) Abu Musab al-Zarqawi 15) James Molyneaux 16) Jeremy Thorpe 17) Ronnie Biggs 18) Jerry Lee Lewis - the singer, not Jerry Lewis the comedian 19) Tom Finney 20) Albert Hoffman 21) Alan Whicker 22) Stephen Hawking 23) Piara Khabra, MP 24) King Fahd of Saudi Arabia 25)"Mad" Frankie Fraser

He should damn well hurry up and finish the charity record he promised for the Sept 11 victims first.

Serious Contenders for Next Years List

Prince Philip - very suddenly indeed, following a carriage racing accident.

    George Best

This is most inconsiderate behaviour by Mr Best, he would have been first on my list for 2006. The prognosis does not look very good, I would concur with Iain's theory that he will be dead before the weekend. George should get one last drink in before last orders.

Serious Contenders for Next Years List

Tony Blair or George Bush - to be assassinated by Islamic radicals.

    Ian Paisley

I've been keeping a close eye on Rev Paisley ('cos I'd really like him to die) - and I think he looks quite a lot healthier now than he did six months ago. I suspect he has been suffering from prostate cancer, but is now in remission. Most inconsiderate from a DL point of view.

Les Paul is just about to release his first rock album at the age of 90 He's looking good and I think he will enjoy the rest of 2005 without dying.

    Is Mr T Dead?

Mr T What a hero! I think I read something about him recently turning down a slot on "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here", obviously a man with more refined tastes. I remember him been interviewed once on TV by that awful fat Australian with a smug look on his face (whose name escapes me at the moment, Clive Someone) anyway....when asked why he wore so much gold he replied that it was one of the three gifts given to the baby Jesus and if it was good enough for Jesus, it was good enough for him. Class.
