Hi Jaquie-O The thread you posted in was for people who have died in 2016. The thread you need is the "ideas and Possibilities for 2017", which is for people who are still alive at the time of writing. I will move your post - and the replies - to the correct thread (Which is where I moved your previous post a couple of hours ago. )

Stupid/funny/cool/outrageous/scary/weird/crazy Stuff You Read/saw In The News/on The Internet
DevonDeathTrip replied to Dr. Zorders's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Hmmm, I hear the sound of plagiarism alert sirens. Benji89, liverpool, United Kingdom, 2 weeks ago Cant help but be amazed at how passive these people are. We are at the point where air is in demand ? Human populations are living under a cloud of toxic smog and the solution is to go out and purchase a creepily marketed 'solution' where the objective is £££. It disgusting. I find it furstrating how millions of people in a society can not organise themselves to object and correct situations that are so obviously wrong. I am no 'die hard' environmental hippy but who can view these images and accept them?? We need to start getting clever as a species , we need to develop some large scale ways of scrubbing the air in these high pollution areas because I can't see industry slowing down any time fast. The place looks dystopian. 1 -
Yes, forgot to put my team up as well after I PM'd it. So here's my bunch of doddery, ailing and tumour ridden hopefuls. Here were the ideas I discounted. Rev Sandy McDonald - He lost out on the toss of a coin to Sir Peter Maxwell-Davies Howard Marks - I have a feeling he may (just) see out the year. Although I'm slightly regretting that decision already Bill Kenwright - I wonder if he may be recovering from serious illness, rather than actually dying from it Bob Ellis - Despite saying he had weeks to live, more recent public utterances say he's in remission. Dan Haggerty - Had to make way for my team's obligatory Irish person. I couldn't bring myself to submit an entry without one. Dmitri Hvorostovsky - He has this awful blonde mullet and looks rather untrustworthy Also, females have always been terribly under-represented in my teams, so, a bit like the Labour Party, I had a woman only short-list for seven places in the squad, meaning some of the above who may have previously made the cut had to make way in the name of equality based progress, or summat.

I've moved Morbidkid's drivel to this thread, as he is either bored, drunk, or possibly both.

As the person who started this thread, over a decade ago, I feel privileged to have been present at one of Motorhead's last UK gigs, at the Eden Project in June. At the time Lemmy didn't look too bad at all and I would have never have thought he wouldn't see the year out. I'm glad for him that he didn't endure a slow and painful death and think it is rather apt that somebody who lived so fast managed to die fast as well. Also, if it hadn't have been for Lemmy, I may never have got together with Mrs DDT, having met her at the impossibly romantic setting of a Motorhead concert at Glasgow Barrowlands in October 1995 RIP Lemmy and thank you for the memories.

Just thought I'd throw in a couple of contenders, who I won't be picking on my DDP team due to concerns they won't get the right obit. If anyone else is brave enough to have a go, feel free: Synth pioneer Ray Wilson - battling a serious form of cancer. Indian tabla legend Pandit Shankar Ghosh - currently in a coma.

Authors Last A Long Time, But....

Apparently George Clayton Johnson was in a hospice for cancer and the suggestion is he has died. https://www.facebook.com/Johnnysamurai/posts/10208606569307827 Just awaiting a news confirmation of this. https://www.sfsite.com/news/2015/12/22/obituary-george-clayton-johnson/?utm_medium=twitter Wiki has him as dead on 22nd December but no link to a reference. Non qualifying obit He is still alive, according to tweets from family members. -
I keep a list in my head. I never have more than twenty names on it, otherwise people might be forgotten. Hope that helps.

In her book The Children of Men, in which children suddenly stopped being born, P.D James wrote that it was the country's midwives and doctors who were the first to realise there was something wrong. If the opposite happens and people stop dying, I think that members of this forum would be among the first to notice.

Exeter City's 2-3 home defeat to Luton this afternoon was painful to watch. Luton scored after a blatant foul on our goalkeeper in the tenth minute of injury time and to make matters worse, some inebriated chav I was unfortunate enough to be stood next to obviously couldn't handle his drink and decided that would be a good time to splatter me and several others in the vicinity with vast quantities of cider infused vomit.

Hi TMIB Don't know if you're already aware, but I'm getting this message when I try and visit the DDP site. Danger alert! Category: Malware Distribution Point Threat level: VERY HIGH Description: A 'Malware Distribution Point' is a web page that hosts viruses, exploits and other malware

Deathlist Pigeon Relay System
DevonDeathTrip replied to Dr. Zorders's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I've got a generator, a tractor, lots of diesel, a log fire, a Rayburn and a gun, so don't imagine I'll be unduly affected. Mind, I'll spare a thought for disadvantaged people in urban hell-holes like Milton Keynes, who will probably have resorted to cannibalism after a couple of days without their microwave. Wouldn't it be ironic if some of those who now espouse hate for people even less fortunate than themselves became refugees, seeking out the kindness of others? -
Lower Age Limit For Forum Membership
DevonDeathTrip replied to Lord Fellatio Nelson's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
How about we DLers carry out a little invasion on 4chan? I'm sure I'm not the only old-timer who fondly remembers DL's invasion of the Royal forums. -
Me too. As well as revelling in death, we shouldn't forget to be pleased when people defy the odds and recover, even if they are on your DDP team (which she isn't).
-
Or perhaps the converse could be true and if you pick Joey Feek as your joker, you’re not trying hard enough. She won’t be a unique pick (worth six points for jokers) and, at the age of forty, she’ll get you four less points than a joker aged below thirty. She is also unlikely to be killed and that will write off another six points. That’s sixteen points altogether, which could be crucial at the end of the year.
-
I hope TMIB gives some consideration to sub-contracting the stats analysis next year. There's loads of people on DL who just love crunching the numbers and I'd really like to see an updated leaderboard for total hits, total points, etc

Miriam Defensor Santiago has told people to "mind their own business" about her diagnosis of stage IV lung cancer, which she says shouldn't stop her from running for President. I'm giving some thought to sticking her on my DDP team, she's got a big Wiki page and was once listed as one of the hundred most powerful women in the world, so will surely get an obit.
