The Cardinals Of The Roman Catholic Church

Not looking good for Cardinal George http://www.thetablet.co.uk/news/1826/0/chicago-cardinal-hospitalised-as-cancer-worsens -
Good calls for top 10 aging artists. Jasper Johns (78)? (Edit. Sorry just seen TAFKAG above) May I add Claes Oldenburg (79) Wayne Thiebaud (87) Christo (73) Bridget Riley (77) Jose Bernal (83, has Parkinsons) Gerhard Richter (76) Howard Hodgkin (75) Pierre Soulages (88) Also, the critic Brian Sewell is 76, but looked in rude health (what other sort would you expect?) when I saw him at the opera yesterday. However, Robert Hughes, the influential author of 'The Shock of the New', though only 69, is not in such good shape. Brian Sewell has cancer.

Is that so? With that question I mean: it may be a fact that under English law one cannot libel the dead, I simply don't know. I do know that one can under Dutch law. A Dutch person can start legal procedures, both civil and criminal, against defamation of a dead relative. I suppose my country isn't the only one to have laws for that. I've never seen libellous stuff about Dutchmen here, dead or alive, but should it happen I might be legally obliged to remove it. regards, Hein I'm pretty sure English law differs in that respect. Although, this article (complete with photo of Jimmy Savile!) would suggest that the existing arrangement may be subject to change.

Your Least Impressive Celebrity Encounters

Who's Anita Baker?regards,Hein Here maybe you can bone up on your contemporary pop artists for Christ sake. 5 Platinum albums I'll assume ONE copy of the goddamn things sold in Holland. 8 Grammys I dunno maybe I retrospect you heard of her. Jesus .... SC "Anita Denise Baker (born January 26, 1958)[1] is an American singer-songwriter.....Baker eventually released her first solo album, The Songstress, in 1983. In 1986, she rose to stardom following the release of her platinum-selling second album, Rapture, which included the Grammy-winning single "Sweet Love". <b>To date, Baker has won eight Grammy Awards and has five platinum albums <\b>and one gold album to her credit."http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anita_Baker I'd never heard of her either. Anita Baker has had one (1) top-50 charting single in the UK (No. 15 with Sweet Love, 1986). That's as many as Joe Dolce. (Sorry, not up on the Dutch charts) So, irrespective of how many Grammy's yada, yada, yada, she's just not that famous this side of the pond. Oh I know who she is now! Probably better known in the UK as Brian May's wife. -
If we're talking about the same thread, I think I closed it because posters were speculating who might be arrested next for child abuse, whereas this one doesn't. Suppose it hasn't directly (at least for the last few pages - cba to check further back). It has however involved people suggesting several dead politicians with absolutely no recourse for self defence were in some way implicated in child abuse which is arguably more beyond the pale than hinting at living celebs whom rumours have circulated about for decades?Arguably yes, but legally you can't libel the dead, which is the essential difference from a moderation perspective. There is a report option for any post a member feels has gone morally beyond the pale.

Put her in the Fringes forum then.... SC I've been here for ten years, you've been around for less than three months. I'm a mod and you're not. But don't let any of that stop you from telling me how I should post on here. Could you just stick to putting your own posts in the right place and stop telling others how it should be done?

It could have been a hypoglycemic episode, which is a good indicator of diabetes. Diabetes would massively increase your chances of going on to develop problems with your eyes, heart and kidneys as well as heightening the possibility of an eventual diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, which would lead to your almost certain death. You might as well end it all now, Guest

Leonard Nimoy has been hospitalised with severe chest pains. It appears this has happened on multiple occasions recently. However is isn't quite dead yet as he apparently still has enough physical and mental capacity to post on Twitter.

Agreed. No home should be without one. I've ordered it along with The Exorcism of Anneliese Michel and Solitude: A Year in the Patagonian Wilderness -
Thanks RA. I had Kim Fowley as my second sub - does that score me anything?

Clark Terry is seriously ill with heart problems. He's currently "smiling and joking with friends" in the intensive care unit of a Kansas hospital. If he happens to survive until next year, I think he would be a good inclusion for the 2009 DL. Clark Terry enters hospice care http://clarkterry.com/

Vagrants, Tramps, Homeless Eccentrics And Hermits
DevonDeathTrip replied to VSBfromH's topic in DeathList Forum
Anne Naysmith, formerly a concert pianist, who then spent nearly forty years living rough in Chiswick, has died after being run over by a lorry. There is a nice obituary for her in today's Telegraph. It occurred to me that the homeless have no home thread of their own on Deathlist, so I thought I'd set up a shelter for them, so to speak. I also thought that notable hoarders of the Mr Trebus variety could be included here. Edit - honourable mentions here should go to: Dwarf actor Bryant Crenshaw, Aussie Glam Rocker William Shakespeare and boxer Kirkland Laing, who all experienced homelessness before they died. -
Kim Fowley, in accordance with his last will and testament, "defiled for Girls & Corpses Magazine"
