Oh dear. If I were a more assertive mod (and knew exactly how to go about it), I'd have removed numerous recent posts from this thread and dished out some warnings. But as I'm a passive soul, please could I just politely request that this "debate" is ceased without delay? Otherwise, I might have to get the instruction manual out. Go well. DDT

The fallen Lib Dem Chris Huhne may soon be jailed for perverting the course of justice. He won't be the first MP for Eastleigh to do a bit of chokey

An update on Ray Price... He's still on the road and singing, but this gig review does give away the fact that he opted not to undergo surgery following his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. The fact that he is well enough to preform concerts might also mean he isn't receiving dehabilitating treatments such as chemotherapy either, in which case nature could well take it's course quite swiftly. ... On the other hand, he has taken delivery of a new tractor.

2013 DDP Dumping Ground And Salvage Lot

Please, there really is no need to combust on my account. Try to remain calm at all times. I read that ZZ wasn't doing too well last September, so I thought I'd give him a run out in my team. I'm a bit worried about his obit chances though. -
One of the most important women in Hugh Hefner's life, Mary O'Connor, has died. She was Hefner's secretary for over forty years and he might well be more deeply affected by her loss than he will have been at the departure of his various wives and fiancees who came and went during the time O'Connor stayed with him.

Dennis Skinner is still in good enough shape to get up and have a damned good shout at the Prime Minister.

This is the very first time I've ever been in the lead in a deadpool! I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. Those were the days! I loved the CPDP and I too would be very happy to see it come back. I also miss Canadian Paul's contributions to Death List. Sadly he hasn't posted here for a long time and I don't think he's entered a DDP team this year either. A while ago I gave some thought to reviving the CPDP format myself on these very forums, as Rotten Ali has done so successfully with the Hartlepool Dead Pool, not that it ever completely expired. I'll mull over the idea some more.

I'll have an R.I.P please Bob.

I had to chuckle at Leading To(o) Dead's brave pick of Ivan Christian, the former mayor of Pitcairn Island. Despite Wikipedia still listing him as alive, as a bit of an expert on that part of the world and a friend of one of his grandchildren, I'm sorry to break the news that Ivan Christian died....in 1991.

I'm amazed Mrs DDT has managed to get Lord McAlpine as a unique pick. He was supposed have been on my team, but I forgot about him, so I persuaded her to pick him instead - at the expense of Pete Doherty, I think. I thought he sounded at absolute death's door when interviewed late last year. He admitted to having "a very dodgy heart" and, going by the weak, rasping gasps emanating from him, it seemed to have almost stopped beating altogether.

I admit to occasionally peeking at Art Garfunkel's website to see what he's been reading (Garfunkel has listed every book he's read since June 1968). Perhaps worryingly, his list, usually frequently updated, hasn't be added to since September.

Possilpark's finest, Jamie Daniel, now has "weeks to live". Many, many weeks later, Jamie Daniel is still going, having apparently suffered a heart attack at Christmas.

How do you mean "forced" ? Quite simple. If you wish to compete, you are forced to choose very ill people who aren't really that famous. I haven't a clue who John Derbyshire is, but I gather he isn't very well - so he's on my DDP. If Anne Williams didn't have cancer, she would be of no note to any of us - but again she is on my DDP. It's shit, but we have to pick folk like that because there are so many other young, ill nobodies who will be chosen, and will score points for other teams. If we don't sink to the levels of some teams, there would be no point in entering. I'm not sure that's actually the case. Have a look at the top ten teams in last years DDP, your own included. Note the names of all of the hits that they accrued between them and you'll see that hardly any of them were in the same morally dubious league as Anne Williams. They were newsworthy before whatever sad diagnosis they received. At a brief glance, the only questionable hits I could find were Winnie Johnston (she WAS pretty well known, tbh) and Anthonia Onouha (and - please don't think I'm being smug here, I'm just trying to make the point - even if you struck Onouha from my team, I would still have won) So leaving the ethics of it behind, I don't think stacking your DDP team with terminally ill tabloid cannon fodder is necessarily the way to achieve success, especially when you consider the inherent risks of the more obscure picks dying without any interest from the press. ...Norfolk'n'Good very nearly went all the way to the top and their team was full of postively famous people.

dead Nicholas Parsons
DevonDeathTrip replied to harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy's topic in DeathList Forum
I saw Nicholas Parsons bounding through St David's station in Exeter a couple of months ago, manfully juggling an overnight bag, an egg sandwhich and a takeaway coffee as he cantered down the platform in a successful attempt to catch the departing Paddington train.
