Cricket Thread. Only Mad Dogs And Englishmen
DevonDeathTrip replied to The Four Horsemen's topic in DeathList Forum
In an unhappy twist of fate, the author of the very sensitive forward to this book was none other than Peter Roebuck! The latest reports are that Roebuck jumped from his sixth floor hotel room, shortly after he was visited by police investigating a report of sexual assault. -

Sir Leonard of Pidgeley came on as a sub for the last ten minutes against Carlisle today and pulled off a wonderful save with his first touch of the ball. Other than that, the match was a fairly uneventful 0-0 draw. 178 travelling Carlisle fans who no doubt will have had a fun day with a closed M5 motorway adding to the joys of a 700 mile round trip. They gave Lenny an emotional reception when his name was announced on the tannoy.

A dead tag would be good, as I don't think we've got the option anymore of indicating those who are already deceased with a . I'll have a fiddle with the late Jimmy Savile, I don't imagine he'd mind much,

Arnold says so, and he doesn't say much, so that's good enough for me. So that's Nigel Lawson and 19 others for my 2012 DDP list. Lawson hasn't looked very clever for some time now but I can't remember when I last saw his picture in the papers. Well, he was on BBC2 today (15mins 30secs in) and he does look a little under the weather. I'm not entirely convinced he's a gonner, though.

Lee Teng-Hui, 88, the former President of Taiwan, has undergone surgery to remove a cancerous tumour from his colon.

Ethan Zohn's cancer has returned. It's nice to see he's putting a postive spin on things: "It's localized in my lung area," Zohn, 37, says. "But it's good that it's not all over my body." I suppose he has a point, but he might have well have said "I've got lung cancer, but at least I'm not being eaten alive by a great white shark". P.S Quote function doesn't seem to be working?

That feels much better. Not sure how, but if you look up 888-333 - his/her avatar still moves. OK I found a setting to switch animated avatars back on - I am not sure if it will restore lost animations. They may need to be re-uploaded... I think I have backups of all the old avatars but no simple way to match them to users which isn't too helpful. Edit: Actually I can track them down with some detective work but its a bit time consuming Thanks GR. I'm much happier about the revamp now.

Well, after over six years, I've waved goodbye to my avatar. I hope everyone likes my new one, Personally, I think it makes me look a lot younger.

Hungarian goalkeeper Gyula Grosics, 85, is recovering in hospital after falling down an escalator. He was part of the "Magical Magyars" team that destroyed England at Wembley in 1953.

Is there any way that my avatar can be restored to it's former glory?

Screamin' Kevin Mahoney, vocalist (I think calling him a singer may be taking it a bit far) with eighties hardcore punk band Siege has died of unknown causes . He was a contemporary of the similarly over excitable and also recently deceased screamer Seth Putman.

Dead. According to the tenements of his faith, he will already have been reincarnated as another human (if he's lived a good life) or a lower form of life (if he's been bad). As Bhaktipada served ten years in jail for racketeering, there is every possibility that he could now be a newt living in a pond near you.

I've always hoped one of my all time favourite bands, Hüsker Dü, will one day reform. I might have a long wait, as twenty three years after they split up, Bob Mould and Grant Hart still really hate each other. , anyone? -

L'Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt, 88, has lost the right to manage her own financial affairs, due to her deteriorating mental state. She is not at all happy at this turn of events. -

American heavy metal guitarist and producer James Murphy is possibly suffering from a relapse of brain cancer, having originally fought the disease in 2001. He's probably not famous enough, but as he has preformed with bands called "Death" "Cancer" and "Obituary", I guessed he wouldn't mind being mentioned here.

Exiled Malaysian revoloutionary Ching Peng, 86, is either, "critically ill", "in a coma", or "insisting he's healthy", depending on who you choose to believe. In 1948 he was stripped of his OBE - awarded for assisting the British in their fight against the Japanese during WWII - after launching a bloody communist insurrection against his colonial masters. Just the sort of candidate for a Daily Telegraph obit, I would have thought.
