Bulger would definitely get UK obits, probably across the board as well. Fascinating character, anyone with an interest in US organised crime politics should cop "Black Mass" from their local bookstore asap. An article from trashy gossip website radar.online, who say that Bluger looks "ill".

George Kimball has died. He was on my DDP team... in 2009 and 2010. Bad luck to you, but good luck to Inigo, I Hope We Win seeing as how this propels him into 2nd place if I'm not mistaken. I'm a bit surprised that George Kimball hasn't seen any obit action. Banshees Scream may no longer post here, but as a keen student of deadpooling and someone who had the sense to pick Kimball on the DDP, I'm sure he's practically convulsing and foaming at the mouth waiting anxiously for the right obit to show up... Well here it is (scroll right to the very bottom of the page )

Do you have examples? Links maybe? Something that proofs your interesting thesis? Is my word not enough for you? http://www.nitrateville.com/viewtopic.php?t=4181 People on that thread, as well as Robert Young who contacted the family, are calling bullshit on this one... Thomas! Fill in the blanks: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with ___, and the Word was ___. Squid? A nice article here about Frederica Sagor Maas who has just celebrated her 111th birthday...

There are unconfirmed reports that Micheal "Würzel" Burston, Motorhead's guitarist from 1984 to 1995, has died at the age of 61. According to his Wiki page, after leaving Motorhead, he released an ambient, improvised avant-garde album entitled Chill Out Or Die.

After consuming a vast amount of peyote and meditating on the choice before me for several hours - even forgoing lunch - I can confirm that the fog of doubt has lifted and I can see with all clarity that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will be next to go.

I'm sorry if this is boring to most DLers, but I'd like to point out that Twombly has an exhibition at Tate Modern and that I consider him one of the premier C20th artists. Of course, he won't get Rolf-like column inches and he may not die for years, but the Deathlist is a broad church, I'd hope. (Hmmm, I'd had a few drinks when I wrote that. I do rate his work, but maybe 'one of the premier C20th artists' is a bit OTT) I'm sad to report that Cy Twombly has died, aged 83 . His work provoked a bit of a debate earlier in this thread. The now departed Lord Fellatio Nelson inexplicably struggled to get his head around what Twombly's tortured genius had to offer....

Sir Michael Somare, who has been intensive care in for eight weeks, has resigned as Papua New Guinea's Prime Minister. Quite how much the man himself knows about this news is unclear. Sounds a bit ominous...

Talking of Glastonbury toilets... On the Tuesday before the festival kicked off in 1994 (back when Glastonbury was good), I opened the door of a pristine toilet, only to find a couple engrossed in a lesbian sex session. Being an easy going sort of person, I just mumbled my apologies, shut the door and left them to it. A few seconds later one of the ladies (who I perceived to be under the influence of even more drugs than I had taken) burst out of the lavatory, stark naked, called me a "f*cking pervert" and chased me across a field brandishing a dildo. I just thought I'd share that anecdote with you all.

UK obit. That'll be a unique pick on the DDP for A Pelican In The Wilderness. Blimey, they pile up don't they? Tell me about it.

Could Hugo Chavez be seriously ill? Probably not, but worth keeping an eye on.

Edit - Also, although I have no links to back this up, I am reliably informed that Norma's brother and fellow folkie Mike Waterson underwent chemotherapy for cancer last year. I don't know what sort of cancer it was, or if he has recovered or not. On Radio 2's folk show tonight, Martin Carthy spoke about the health of his wife, Norma Waterson and his brother in law, Mike Waterson. Norma is making a gradual recovery from her bout of septicemia although she is still in hospital. However he revealed Mike Waterson has been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b010xyjz (Health discussion is at 23 minutes, if you can't face a whole hour of hardcore folk) Mike Waterson has died.

Riders Of The Chariot by Patrick White. I couldn't describe it any better than what it says on the back cover: What an excellent read! I think I can see things more clearly now. -

That was reported about a month ago. Yes, she passing was marked in the Dead Vets thread. I didn't realise at the time that she wasn't actually a vet, I just assumed that was the most likely explanation for the amount of time she spent feeling donkeys.
