Dead - ironically the cause of death was cancer, which overtook his ALS disease. Four DDP teams - one of them belonging to Banshees Scream - will no doubt be anxiously waiting for a British obituary... Edit - And here it is http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/210761...iter-pal-Carlo/

Phil Collins (And Other Genesis Types)
DevonDeathTrip replied to DevonDeathTrip's topic in DeathList Forum
... and every cloud has a silver lining, apart from the mushroom shaped ones, which I understand have a layer of iridium and strontium. Er, anyway, Phil Collins gives an exquisitely bleak interview to Rolling Stone in which he tells us how "decades of criticism have taken their toll" and that he often thinks of suicide. -
Maybe Emilio Massera wasn't faking after all. In any case, he's dead.

I might not be able to remember what I posted last year, but for some reason I can still remember what OoO posted three years ago . Jo Myong-Rok is dead, not of liver or kidney disease, but of a heart attack.
-
Can't say I've heard of him, but Pick's Disease is a very nasty form of frontal lobe dementia which progresses quickly. People unlucky enough to get the illness tend not to linger on for years on end like those who are afflicted with the bog standard variant of the condition.

Legendary jazz saxophonist James Moody, 85, has announced that he is suffering from pancreatic cancer, for which he has opted not to receive radiotherapy or chemotherapy. A UK obit is assured, but he'll really have to show some fighting spirit to get to 2011.

The Daily Star thinks he's got throat cancer.
-
Hospitalised after falling at home.

Mmm, doesn't say what kind of cancer. Cancer of the gob? I'd hazard a guess that it's a very bad diagnosis. Chemotherapy + Radiotherapy - Surgery = .

Jonathan Motzfeldt, the first (and third) Prime Minister of Greenland is død, according to the Danish speaking press.

Betty Ford's daughter has given us an update on her mother's health.

Austrialian guitarist Harvey James, who played with 70s rock group Sherbet, is suffering from lung cancer. He appeared on their biggest hit, the truly horrendous " ", which would have induced anyone to become a punk. The song climbed all the way to number four in the UK pop charts in 1976. UK obit chances rather dodgy I should think, but you never know.

Sir George Martin ill?
-
It's probably nothing, but Ravi Shankar has cancelled some recent gigs due to illness.

Rupert Murdoch was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2000 and he stated at the time that he hoped the disease would be successfully treated with radiotherapy. If his hopes not have been realised and the cancer took hold, eventually spreading to his bones, then there is every chance that he could have reached the chemotherapy stage a decade later. He could be a good outside bet for DL 2011. I wonder if his business empire might die before he does? Will the traditional media he's made his money from be engulfed by the technology that makes everything he once sold free of charge?

And that's another near miss on the DDP this year. Nooooooo. Poor Father Dowling. Sad but true - I once had a bit of a schoolboy crush on Father Dowling's rather lovely sidekick Sister Stephanie.

Actress Kim Novak has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Shot-Put innovator James E. Fuchs has died of "numerous illnesses" at the age of 82. He pioneered a new shot-put throwing technique (sadly called the "Sideways Glide" and not the "Flying Fuchs") and broke four world records in his chosen field.

I'm seriously tempted to bet on Exeter playing Liverpool in the Championship next season. Very reasonable odds at 294/1.

Bet you wish you'd gone now. I was there with Mrs DDT and DDT Jnr. It was a cracking game and I met a few Carlisle fans. One of them had a slightly crazed look in his eye and said he was banned from all home games for continually throwing toilet rolls on the pitch, but he still goes to all the aways. I think he said his name was Mad Mike.

Another member of Toto is also very ill. Bassist Mike Pocaro (the brother of Jeff Pocaro, the drummer who died in a bizarre gardening accident) is suffering from ALS disease.

I don't think Billy Graham will be around to cut the Christmas turkey.
-
Dave Brubeck has had a pacemaker fitted after experiencing "dizzyness and fatigue" on Monday night. Brubeck, 89, will be back on the road in November. I've found him a tasteful new piano that he might like to take on tour.

Fugitive gangster John Traynor is seriously ill after suffering several heart attacks. He is currently incarcerated in the Netherlands, awaiting extradition to the UK. He is the suspected of involvement in the murder of Veronica Guerin.

The Apprentice 2010. What a bunch of wankers and bitches. I really don't think the world would end up a worse place if all the contestants were rounded up and dropped in to the sea, several miles from shore. It was such a depressing viewing experience that I switched over to Police Camera Action.
