I am currently in Thailand and I am surprised and impressed at how seriously the whole nation takes the mourning of the late king. In the hotel I am staying in there is a shrine to him, there was one in the factory I visited today and there are billboards by the side of the road, and giant TV screens at the airport all carrying sombre pictures of him. The factory I am auditing at with a colleague who was here last year and she said everyone in the factory wore lime green corporate polo shirts but when they met us at the airport yesterday the factory rep was wearing a black corporate polo shirt. She explained that the parent company have replaced the entire workforce's polo shirts for the whole period of mourning (however they have also just changed the company name so it might be a good excuse to get rid of all the one with the old name on). I was going to take a picture of the shrine in the hotel but didn't want to seem disrespectful. When the Queen goes we will have a fortnight of wall to wall news coverage, paperboys will have to knock on the door to devliver the Mail on Sunday because of the sheer weight of colour supplements and then about a month after the funeral the Daily Mirror will run the first Queen was a bit cross and hated (............. ) (insert name of relative or public figure here) hatchet job and then we will all get a bit jolly about the impending coronation. If Theresa May does win in June she might want to think about this cycle of national 'coming together' and schedule it in for maybe early 2021.

Isn't it sad when Pop Stars end up looking like they should be running a small town hardware store?

From said Wikipedia article In mid-1981, Oakey and Catherall commenced a long-term relationship that lasted until the end of the decade. Oakey and Catherall split amicably in 1990, remaining friends and colleagues. Contrary to press stories, they never married.

I have just arrived in Thailand for a weeks auditing. It would be typical for a flurry of deaths to occur. I would have posted about my flights but it doesn't feel the same without @Cat O'Falk here. -
At least there will be hospitals...

Have we hit a brick wall or are we going to have one of those months soon where we get 3 or 4 in a couple of weeks. Shame about Don Rickles. I think we need two hits before the end of May to make us feel that the record is in sight.

To be fair Niemeyer was well over 100 when he went. Not sure what age he was when he first appeared on the list.

I have submitted my team with a broad interpretation of the categories but I think this is a work in progress.

Actually Grim is misleading you it was the British agent who was disguised as a policeman who got all the words wrong the airman just showed up speaking in very upper class English accents. One of the airman had actually been in Secret Army. Arthur Bostrom played Officer Crabtree. Which is a nickname applied to a colleague at work who thinks foreign customers will understand him if he speaks loudly.
