Just to add another name to the list I will pick Vivien Gray who played Mrs Mangel in Neighbours -
The point being is the bulldozing is going to be through houses with large gardens and some very nice golf courses rather than places where the poor people live and so the NIMBYs who have time, money and organisation on their side are getting very vocal. Have a look at the proposed route (particularly the London to Birmingham stretch and then overlay the voting results of the 2010/2015 elections - you might then begin to understand the problem.

Toby often seems to be first with these things. Do you think he secretly lurks here? Not really imo. He's so well connected to the Who crowd by virtue of his interviews and press connections I think, he's likely to be notified fairly swiftly (although I think we reported Reg Whitehead's death before him - he was probably off on his travels/gigging). Iirc Latep was one in a long line of characters who tried to get into Jo Grant's knickers.

Does Doris know how old is she?She says she's 92 but official records say she's 94. Or as she puts it: "Age is just a number". SC https://www.yahoo.com/beauty/doris-day-speaks-her-92nd-133557540.html Just seen these photos on facebook. She doesn't look 92 let alone 94. Good call for the committee to keep her off this year.

Aye, somewhat surprised to find a mention of this stuffed into the Today headlines on Radio Four today; not like it's a slow news day with tax evasion and the survival of the steel industry on the agenda. They fell into that trap......

Yesterday I went to the funeral of my Dad's partner. She had been in a home for four years suffering with dementia. It was a bit strange only about 12 people went but still dignified. -
We have lost some of the low hanging fruit quite quickly thos year. Not sure who we are waiting for now. I am expecting a slower April.
-
Had to be Tom for obvious reasons.
-
That's the $64,000 question. Its now April and, in theory, he SHOULD be well enough to attend. If he doesn't......... That funeral will be a form spotters paradise; Ronnie being so well connected in showbiz. Who else is likely to go; Bernard Cribbins, John Cleese, Barry Cryer, Paul Daniels (oops!) I imagine Jimmy Tarbuck would be there as they both played golf.

That was the week my Mum died.

Good because most of them are cunts. Oh, I don't know, most of them seem to be taking an interest. There's only a couple being po-faced about it. The Corrie Fan vehemently defending us is me, the rest seem a bit luke-warm about it. (the site that is) There's a fair few naturals in though, that woman who got Denise Robertson deserves a gold medal. For all the sniffiness they seemed to take to the debate quite naturally. Need to come up with some better names though.

Will this be another Anne Kirkbride "time off"? -
Muted support. He seems pretty pissed off that Lerner stays in the US and doesn't bother asking for his help. His voice sounds warn and that picture of him looks unflattering to say the least/ I don't think he looks that bad for a 92 year old man. And he's clearly sharp as a tack. Don't think he's going this year, but you never know. Yeah, he got screwed with his pants on. Promised money to invest that never materialised and given a team that had given up or just weren't capable. Still maintained a level of dignity lacking in some managers in similar situations, my example is always Mick McCarthy during THAT Sunderland season where they got 17 points or whatever it was. Every MOTD interview was the same... All this season demonstrated was Remi Garde's lack of turd polishing skills.

She was also very robust on the issue of abuse of workers at Qatar 2022 stadia. It is not happening!

I am SORRY to hear this.

Wentworth Miller may have got an apology out of LadBible but their loss looks like our gain.......

Normally I'm in the 'feed them baking powder/tie two together' camp with you Handy, but got a semi pet one the now with a dodgy foot. He's quiet so I feed him mussels etc. Threw a fat coley at him yesterday which was waaaay too big for him but he scoffed it, took two hops, and face planted There's fun to be had with them... Seagulls are cunts. I am currently in Looe, where they are fat and vicious. The seagulls, obvs. My wife found one trapped in the ice at a local reservoir. He came home with us and stayed been fed on sardines during a bitterly cold spell. Eventually one day he just hopped out on the cage bowed his head and flew away. Though for several years later if the weather got cold we would get a seagull circling over the garden.

Jesus Biblio, is that the time already. I probably ought to get out of bed! Don't feel the need to move on my account. If you can post from your duvet then carry on.

If F had been working I would know whether to have included Mick Fleetwood in my list of Shock Death Pop Stars.

Hope the recovery is quick Sir C and that there is someone there to look after you. -
How many of those complaints would be from parents who had no idea what their kids were watching until it had upset them? Surely if it was on Channel 5 no-one would have seen it anyway. I can't remember how old I was when the film came out, but old enough to have left home. I saw it in the cinema and was taken aback by the explicit violence. If it had been a darker style of animation, like the LOTR one, it wouldn't have been so shocking. I don't have any children, but if I had I wouldn't have let them watch that film, not as children anyway. So it's quite possible that these parents hadn't seen it themselves, if their own parents knew it was unsuitable. Hope that makes sense. I may have mentioned this before but I was once witness to a fantastic argument between a couple in a library about whether to borrow this film for their very small son. The U certificate is misleading.

Interesting observation but possibly in the wrong place - although I do see the connection with Bend It Like Beckham.
