The death was not gruesome and it was fitting that Clara was a victim of her own 'cleverness' I did think this episode was one of the better ones from this series and I think it has set up the final two episodes with the Doctor alone. My only problem was it was a bit fantasy rather than SF. The set looked like it had escaped from Harry Potter world. Interesting comment. I have always thought DW had more fantasy than SF leanings (though some episodes are notable exceptions). I suppose it depends which era some stories do have strong fantasy elements Image of the Fendahl, The Time Monster, The Mind Robber, Pyramids of Mars etc but it always tries to have a grounding in rationality. There have also been some fairly hard SF ideas over the years.

Given Eileen Derbyshire has played this role for over 50 years with very few breaks I'd see this as a cause for adding her to your list next year, 6 months was also the amount of time given off to Anne Kirkbride. Given Derbyshire's age and long-running history with the show I'd be very surprised if this wasn't for medical reasons. The other possibility is she's got so sick of the current numbskull producers style that she's waiting for the competent person to get bedded in before returning. After missing out on Anne Kirkbride I think we should be careful before we dismiss this. Unless she has booked herself a world cruise. -
Annette Crosbie (b.1934) was married to Michael Griffiths and had two children. Her daughter Selina Griffiths is also an actress. She provided the voice for Galadriel in Ralph Bakshi's animated film of LOTR.

Because I publish my work list on 1st Dec I have all my teams lined up and ready to go, with suitable substitutes if they go before the end of the month. This year my DDP teams have failed big time. Best performance had me about 300th -
Sadly, he won't Bloody Hell indeed (not Ron Weasley). Will all of his six wives turn up to the funeral?

Two options spring to mind. 1. Get her to read that. However that would probably lead to a manifold increase in awkwardness. 2. You play the "I have a long think about this and I believe you deserve someone better than me". This might not work as she might disagree but if you do pull it off you can stay friends and maybe repeat the experience. However I would point out that I do not have a lot of experience in this type of relationship issue and should probably stop talking now..... -
Shhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! I had to draft in John Berger to my 2016 DDP Theme Team when Diana Pullein-Thompson checked out early. Just walk on by, nothing to see here.....

What Do You Think Of The 2015 Death List?
Bibliogryphon replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList Forum
Like this year 2003 was a slow starter. First death did not occur until day 64 (58 this year) and it was all over by day 271 which over that period was a death every 15 days. This year the graph has followed a similar pattern with the very intense mid year period. I think it is 50/50 whether the record goes. -
another possibility to lose next year. Kissinger has had plenty of health issues, heart-related no less, and of import, they are RECENT issues. Taking him off the list would be a coup d'état for the Reaper to leave the DL down a 'hit'. Don't do it! SC Looks like Sir Creep is pinning his colours to the Kissinger mast in the same way Dr Z did with Peter Sutcliffe last year. That turned out well.

I didn't know this thread existed or that he was meant to be ill. Not a sports fan (anyone guess that) But this seems to be a Venn diagram death. We have a famous international rugby union player and a renowned New Zealand sports star on the list. But they are three different people.

Stan Lee was on Radio 4's Today programme this morning. Didn't catch the whole interview but he sounded chipper. Not one for 2016 methinks.

What Do You Think Of The 2015 Death List?
Bibliogryphon replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList Forum
That argument doesnt work. In 2003 we got to 14 by September at that rate it that should have had us heading to 18 for the year but it just stopped. Time for a Kate Bush reference December will be Magic Tragic Again -
What Do You Think Of The 2015 Death List?
Bibliogryphon replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList Forum
From the DL obituary of Elia Kazan who was the previous record breaker. It looks like DeathList 2003 is going to set an awesome target that won't be surpassed for many years to come. If 2015 does break the record will we have to wait until 2027 to break it again? -

Make Deathlist A Kay Burley Free Zone
Bibliogryphon replied to Dr. Zorders's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Before the General Election I had no idea who Kay Burley was unfortunately I cannot go back to that blissful state of affairs. However I do not think she should be barred from the Deathlist but posters should be encouraged to post witty and satirical comments rather than just she is a stupid tart. Maybe she could get into a fight with Katie Hopkins
