If he were to go that would be a nice Brucie bonus for a number of DDP teams.

Shadowlists are just for personal satisfaction. The real competitions are the Derby Dead Pool (Teams of 20), The Deathrace, Inverse Deadpool, Hare's Deadpool, Shaun's Death by Numbers. Each have different requirements and rules and they normally run for the calender year. I still have not worked out the rules for the Hartlepool Deadpool.

    British Character Actors

It is time for another list. Here are a list of actors and production crew who from Inspector Morse. Because of its format and subject matter many of the stars and guest stars are now dead: John Thaw, James Grout, Peter Woodthorpe, Michael Aldridge, Richard Briers, Robert Stephens, Patrick Troughton, Norman Rodway, John Normington & Roger Lloyd-Pack to name a few but the following 20 are still with us. Colin Dexter Tony Warren Ted Childs Kevin Whately Rebecca Eaton Julian Mitchell John Madden Danny Boyle Barrington Pheloung Geoffrey Beevers Robert Hardy Phyllis Logan Geoffrey Palmer Ian McDiarmed Clive Swift Freddie Jones Tony Haygarth John Shrapnel Nicholas Le Provost Martin Jarvis I could go on...

Disagree I think he is worth keeping. He is in the public eye and he could go at any minute. A keeper I think. not for my list lol He didn't make my initial cut but I have drafted him back in to replace some of the fallers. I still think the committee should keep him.

Corrected George may be less confused if you don't use redundant words But less funny that way.

Britney Spears, Kerry Katona, Heather Locklear et al.

How little judgement dear Kerry seems to have. Her current husband has now been arrested for assaulting her and illegal possession of a taser. Is her life real or just a really bad mini-soap opera?

    Derby Dead Pool 2015

I have just scrolled all the way down the leaderboard to find where my teams are languishing. The good news is my low hanging fruit team is doing better than last year and I am in joint 283rd place. My theme team is in 326th place which considering it finished 68th last year is very disappointing and my Unusual Suspects team is doing even worse at 376th. Its a bit sad when a top 100 finish is something to celebrate. (or testement to the popularity of the game)

What Do You Think Of The 2015 Death List?

Excellent data gathering msc. Looking at the list above it is interesting to note that all the scores below 7 occurred before we settled on 50 as the total list number so I would be inclined to omit those from any calculations about expectations. However that does set a bar and if in any year the total fell below 7 then I would expect the Deathlist committee to write a letter to the Prime Minister explaining the circumstances that allowed this to happen (in the same way Mark Carney does with inflation targets) So that leaves 22 years with 227 hits between then. 10 is the mean, the median and the mode of that set of numbers so we are already ahead of an average year and I think there is still space to get more.

But surely the problem of i-player makes a mockery of this. Kids can have laptops in their rooms and watch it without any Parental input. Yes it was scary when we were kids but we would always watch in a family environment and the scare could be put into context. Doctor Who is meant to be the flagship family drama. I loved Saturday's episode but Mrs B who works with preschool children knows that the kids will see it whether on Saturday night or at another time. That's two points. The overnights are lower in part due to people leaving the show, in part due to the opposition of the world cup, and in part due to the later time slot. My earlier, more pertinent point, was that due to on demand viewing (as you mention above), none of that really matters a toss these days. I agree this is more about trying to spin an anti-BBC story from data available rather than a genuine discussion on the future of Doctor Who. I am also not sure about the number I thought the viewing figures has dropped by 4million rather than below 4 million. Okay but would a left-leaning tabloid necessarily run an anti-BBC story? Does the Mirror have a history of doing that? I know Murdoch has long had a vendetta against them but would the Mirror be in the same boat? The agenda for the Mirror would be more "Shock. Tory victimisation of BBC will cancel Doctor Who (insert any popular programme here)" It is still lazy journalism with very little substance.

Operation Yewtree police arrest a man aged 79. I have been through my lists for people born 1935/6 and there is no-one who leaps looks like a potential possibility. Probably another hanger on.

    Denis Healey

There are six remaining MPs elected in 1955 all of whom are several years younger than Healey Richard Body (b. 1927) Robin Chichester-Clark (b.1928) John Eden (b.1925) Robert Lindsay (b.1927) Tom Mitchell (b.1931) James Ramsden (b.1923) Tom Mitchell was elected for Sinn Fein whilst in jail and his election was overturned. So, not sure if he really counts.

Whilst lambasting Harry Potter on another thread I hinted about my dislike of the Twilight novels. I thought I might share this with you all. It is a bit dated now but I still find it funny.

What Do You Think Of The 2015 Death List?

The two record holding years are 2003 & 2008. By this time in 2003 all the action was over and there were no more deaths. In 2008 we were still waiting for 12th death which occurred on Day 291. That gives us 12 more days to pull ahead of the 2008. In 2013 we had a flurry in the final months and finished one short of the record. Crowe, Bhumibol, Schmidt and one random one will see a new DL record.

Interesting analysis but I suspect this is a non story. The fact that DW was pushed back to 8.20 this week to make way for the flagship family show Strictly means that the Autumn schedule might be too crowded but viewing figures are better in the winter with the darker nights. The BBC should always be looking at how best to present their programmes, they would be criticized for resting on their laurels if they did not. in 2016 there will be European Championships and Olympics they might want to clear the schedules for other things and then use DW to bring in viewers to another programme like The Voice in the winter run (jan-easter).

As a tribute to Denis should all players who have over ten hits on the DDP have them taxed at 75% to give the rest of us a sporting chance.

I agree. I thought this was a story I could imagine any of the first seven Doctors being in. The two part format allowed the characters to develop. I hope the next episode delivers. The Daily Mirror is the only left leaning tabloid. Can still be a bit trashy but is not Murdoch's mouthpiece.
