I am going to say 14th September because I am going to Germany on that day.

    Nigel Kneale & Judith Kerr

Huh? Judith's published lots of books since then. On a read of that article, its "first illustrated book" since 1978, and even then, I guess they don't count Mog. I dropped Judith from my theme team this year but think she will go on again next year. Her studio is in the attic and she can still get up there to work everyday.

    Aretha Franklin

And now she's cancelling appearances due to "exhaustion". With her constantly cancelling performances, it's almost reminiscent of the last couple of years before Etta James passed away. Yeah it's like neither of you two bothered to read the linked article. 'Constantly cancelling performances'....where did that bogus tidbit come from? She's already matched last year's number of performances (9) and it's August. She's a hefty old lady who just rode 2500 miles in a bus. Yes this is totally unexpected and out of left field she must be dying. Also -- keep in mind she probably has a bit of mental anguish pent up over Bobby Kristina Brown, being her niece's daughter. What a pair of tools. SC I thought that was Dionne Warwick not Aretha Franklin.

    The Osmonds

The NE suggested he fears 'he may never sing again' usual hyperbole but we can only hope. When has he sung in the past three decades? He has been a pugilist is all I know. SC Last year and 2013 as he was touring with Marie. Or you could just do a search. this is what I discovered http://www.bandsintown.com/DonnyOsmond/past_events?page=16 Yo OCD much? It was rhetorical. No one gives a damn about any Osmond, and my point was he nor any Osmond isn't nor has been relevant in decades. Touring or otherwise. I assure you I'll not be searching the Web to see what the Osmonds are up to. SC Unfortunately this is not true. One of my colleagues got very excited when she went to see them on their last UK tour. However she forgot to play her wildcard in our work Deathlist so I assigned her Wayne Osmond. She vetoed Brian Ferry.

    Sir John Hurt

I was wondering which roles the papers would focus on if he were to die in the near future. I was thinking that they might concentrate on The Elephent Man but others might highlight Doctor Who or Alien. How was his version of 1984 received? Not one of his most memorable roles? Worthy but dull Best remembered for the soundtrack.

    Not Seen Any Good Films/movies

There is a wonderful moment in Inside Out when Joy knocks over two boxes containing 'opinions' and 'facts' and struggles to tell them apart. There are a lot of touches like that but I think a large amount of it would go over the head of the intended demographic. I end up watching quite a few animated movies and this was up there but I don't imagine it is one I would own on DVD. However I watched Howl's Moving Castle for the first time last week which was amazing.

At What Age Should One Retire?

I will be able to claim my pension from my first employer when I reach the age of 50. Unfortunately it will not be enough to retire on but it will be a nice holiday's worth each year. I will be 46 this month.

    Sir John Hurt

But John Hurt is Doctor Who John Hurt was The Doctor. More specifically he was the War Doctor in the episode "The Day of The Doctor". "Doctor Who?" is the question that gets asked when he replies when asked his name. I really hoped we weren't going to get into this debate. I used the full title of the programee to counterpoint the comment that had previously been made. Having portrayed the titular character he can be considered as an embodiment of the spirit of the whole show. This year we have a one on one showdown DW vs Wrestling with Peter Sallis against Jake 'the snake' Roberts. Winner takes all?

    Sir John Hurt

I was hoping to do some research to provide a legitimate reason why Doctor Who is more important than wrestling by going back through the DL hits and seeing how many of them had appeared in Doctor Who compared with how many were wrestlers. The results do not disprove my theory but it is by no means a crushing blow. Doctor Who 2 (Anna Wing & Michael Gough) Wrestling 0 However I have decided to inflate the Doctor Who score to five because Michael Gough played two different roles and I am including Roy Castle and Mary Whitehouse So 5 - nil. In ashes term that is a whitewash You are forgetting perhaps one of the DL's most-discussed picks was also a grappler (in the legal sense of the term): But not a hit. What year is that from Tuesday 28th March occured in 1950, 1961 or 1967.

    Which Names Would You Drop?

Finding this very difficult. There were only nine names who I looked at and said I really think these people will still be here in 17 months time but I have compiled a 15. Jake the Snake Roberts Henry Kissinger Harper Lee Doris Day Chuck Berry Eddie Large Hosni Mubarak Jake LaMotta Ken Kerchavel Vera Lynn Bob Dole Valerie Harper (if she survives the year) Al Molinaro Liz Smith Bill Maynard I still think it is too early to do this with any certainty. Come back in December.
