I don't believe there are any obit rules for the Death List. Well, there are no obit rules in the sense that not getting an obit would disqualify a hit. On the other hand, one of the few DL rules state that "Candidates must be famous enough such that their death is expected to be reported by the UK media" and the usual interpretation is that borderline cases are best left out (except for Fergie Frederiksen, ofc.). Aye, old Oskar would be a toughie because, on the one hand, the few remaining convicted Nazis are a dwindling resource and we'd have a grim satisfaction in the final dregs of this evil dying out, on the other hand, he was the fucking book keeper! Every night I go to sleep content that I'm spared the mind-numbing responsibility of the 24/7 job faced by the DL selectors. I think that a convicted prisoner of war crimes would be worthy of considerable news discussion. Even if he is not on the main list I think a fair number of DDP teams will take a punt on him. I would rather this than 'couragous' cancer stricken bloggers.

Do it before John Hurt goes..
-
He was in Babylon 5 and he was famously the Captain in the Bath in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (TV)
-
That was quick. I presume he did not contest the charges only the intent

I do not have the pleasure of understanding you.. To what are you referring?
-
He is also the sort of person who would feature on The Last Word (Friday 4.30 Radio 4)

I did say don't get too excited. Thanks for that Spade great thing to see on your works computer at lunchtime in an open plan office. Olaf Pooley has caused a delay in posting. Need to update my work game. Maybe tomorrow.
-
Oh please British press, mention Evelyn. I need her for Gray Panthers. Yes and Olaf Pooley too? Still looking for you deadsox. Pity that Olaf who worked in the early days of BBC Radio and TV just doesn't seem to be news. But it's early days. Well considering that Jeffrey Segal doesn't seem to have made a ripple and he was in Fawlty Towers then this could be touch and go. The Doctor Who/Star Trek connection is what you would be hoping for.

Don't get too excited but I am preparing a list of Privy Concil members appointed before 1980. Will post soon.

No they don't. But that does raise the question about what happens in a David Taylor situation. He died on Boxing Day 2009 and his seat was left empty until the 2010 General Election. Under the circumstances I would award points. -
OK This may not be the appropriate place to discuss this but I am having a bit of trouble getting my head around some political correctness issues. I would appreciate the advice of other Deathlisters particularly and ladies who are regular posters or possibly member of the LGBT community. Recently Radio 4's Woman's Hour published a list of Influential Woman and included Caitlynn Jenner. Now in my opinion I think that this could be considered insulting to woman as the only reason that Jenner is included is becuase she was a man first. (her inspirational journey) so even on a list that is meant to celebrate woman's acheivements one of the slots is taken by a man. I realise this is opening up a huge can of worms but it seems to me that there is a PC minefield here and no-one is willing to cross it. Discuss. Mods - please move this to a more suitable thread if you feel appropriate.

Aye, and one or two have him in By-Election Bingo. Was just thinking the self-same thing. Always assumed his most likely exit was leaving in disgust in the event of a vote to leave the EU, with a cheeky outside bet on a heart attack due to all the cubans. Maybe he'll just go downhill gradually instead. I am not convinced by this. Kenneth Clarke was always one Tory that I quite liked. I think this will mean he will step down at the end of this parliament and become a member of the House of Lords he will continue to turn up as a rent a quote but I think he has another 10 years left in him. I am basing this on the situation with Tony Benn whose wife died in 2000. Kenneth does like a smoke and is carrying more weight than is good for him but I think there are a few other former chancellors who will go before him. -

But neither of them deserving of a capital letter.... -
Shaun, let me quote parts from a 2000 article about Michael and Catherine's then upcoming wedding. and The memoir was published in 1999: http://www.amazon.com/In-Wings-Diana-Douglas-Darrid/dp/1569801517 Since they, as you say, appeared in a film together in 2003, they either reconciled or only agreed to appear in it for financial reasons. I bet more people read it after Kirk complained about its contents. Remember they are both actors* * = Professional liars

There will either be a coup or he leaves power when he dies. I don't see him surviving 2015 unless he decide to become the new zsa zsa Well, he is a bit younger than Zsa Zsa, but more importantly seems a lot healthier as well. If you read that article, you can see that the reason some people are scheming or trying to position themselves is precisely because RM is now the president of the African Union, and is frequently abroad for AU meetings. If he was really that ill, he would stay at home, and would dictate his political will from his deathbed. That being said, I hope you are right and we won't see him in 2016. The world (and especially Zimbabwe) would almost certainly be a better place without him. Would you have said the same about Libya and the good Colonel? A power struggle could be very nasty.

I take it he never uttered those immortal words 'Come and sit on uncle Grevilles knee' to you? Fortunately for me I was not brought up in a Leicestershire care home.
-
Oh, which one? That could be one of a few hundred. Well he is someone who made our list so that narrows it down to 196 and by describing him as 'he' that will further close the field. My particular objection stems from the impression he gives of an over excited red setter retweeting anything that Liz Kendell posts, you can imagine him sitting there with his tongue hanging out waiting to be thrown a treat.. I ran that info through the list of MPs who went for Kendall, and while it brought up a few names, one in particular had retweeted her 10 times in the last 2 days! That wood probably be said cockwomble.

One of my Theme Team picks the mighty Terrence Dicks is to be awarded a Lifetime acheivement award at the San Diego Comicon. He is not collecting it in person but does this mean I might be heading for some points. Oddly enough I hope not because my respect for his work is deep and longstanding.

I have only once been to see a Peter Hall production but we went on the opening night driving from Cheltenham to Stratford when we got there they announced that the play wasn't ready and we could either have our money back or get tickets for the following night (which we did). The show was full of teething troubles. It was Julius Caeser and the role of Caeser was played by Christopher Benjamin. The stage was dominated by a bust of Caeser's and it was meant to leak blood but the blood was too thin and tuned into a torrent dripping from the head which drowned out the actor's lines. When the poet was killed by the mob the crowd parted to early to reveal a stage hand with a bucket of blood to pour down the steps and Hugh Quarshie (Mark Anthony) was just terrible. Julian Glover (Brutus) was good though. I think Sir Peter Hall is a bit full of himself to be honest. Thanks for the heads up.

Greville Janner was MP for Leicester West (Liz Kendell's current constituency) so he was familiar to me growing up in Leicester and his association with the Frank Beck case was reported during the trial

John Hurt has never had the look of someone brimming over with vitality but that picture shocked me. He has just taken Omar Shariff's place in my preplanning for next years game.

Provide link or it didn't happen. SC This could be the reason why, fucking vegetarians. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/668048.stm I found it ironic that he was a vegetarian from the Archdiocese of Bologna. Deliciously ironic. SC FFS. Read it again. Cardinal Giacomo Biffi, 71, said that the modern Antichrist, identified in the Book of Revelation as a seven-headed beast, was most likely now disguised as a philanthropist supporting creeds like vegetarianism, animal rights or pacifism, or advocating dialogue with Orthodox or Anglican believers. Which everyone took to be the official pronouncement that Paul McCartney is infact the Anti-christ. -

I have just realised that I am now on the first page of all time posters. I was wondering whether I had become a post whore but I did notice that Dr Z who started a year after me is already ahead of me. However we do seem to have a reasonable post:like ratio so hopefully we can't be too objectionable. -
