    By-Election Bingo

This forum is helping my appreciation of politics. Whenever an MP is interviewed on WATO, PM or Today I try to remember if they are on the list and what I had read about them in compiling the list. I have even started following some of them on Twitter although that does not always show their best side. One, in particular, I am beginning to believe is a bit of a cockwomble.

Toupee or not Toupee....that is the question

Just watched this. It is almost like self parody. Ron looks like a character that David Walliams might play in a badly thought out Little Britain sketch.

    Prince Philip Duke Of Edinburgh

Last weekend my sister attended an event where the DOE was officiating. Despite being ignorant of my deadpooling activities she still proceeded to give me an extensive (and admiring) assessment of his robust health and how he stood throughout the whole proceedings and spoke to many of those present. Not saying he won't go this year but he is not circling the drain, as it were.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2016

Good thinking Guest. I don't think any of us had considered either of these before..... False! I have already both in my Deathlist 2015 Please confirm that the smiley face is an inherent appreciation of the irony of my post and that in an equally ironic fashion you have posted something that appears to be a contrary inane statement of fact but is in face so subtly witty Oscar Wilde himself would rise from his grave to shake your hand.

I dont like that game, but it'd be someone like Shaw Taylor, in that they just picked him 12 months too early, then dropped him. Whoever he was. I dont like that game, but it'd be someone like Shaw Taylor, in that they just picked him 12 months too early, then dropped him. Whoever he was. If you go down that route and factor in the degree of fame then Terry Pratchett is probably the biggest miss.

In the UK this was reported on the same day that Laurence Olivier died (July 11th) so it lost a bit of impact.

    Zsa Zsa Gabor

She hasn't being dead for years as last December Zsa Zsa's daughter released Photos of her Mum looking terrible(who would of thought that less than a month later it would be her daughter Francesca that died) also the fact that Prinz Frederic Von Anhalt has been to court and lost Conservatorship of Zsa Zsa's health care and finance last month means she must still be alive somehow as surely the courts would want proof that she is still alive. I think she is being kept alive by high amounts of drugs as by all accounts she has Severe Dementia, has high blood pressure, is partly paralysed, deaf, Blind, had one leg amputated, has previously coughed up blood and had problems with her lungs as well as all sorts of crap i have probably forgotten, eventually the drugs are bound to stop working and she will die i predict she will finally die on the 3rd April 2021. Dear God!!!! I KNOW she isn't dead and I doubt very much that her husband gets into his fucking Reliant Robin ( disabled badge on the dashboard) every Wednesday to go down to Cleethorpes main Post Office to collect her pension!! What the fuck is going on with this place???????? leave youre sense of humour at the door it would seem!! humor for the american readers! Do not humour them

I'm dubious about the claim that she'll make a full recovery. I think she'll have a relapse early next year. It sounds wildly optimistic. If they had said something like "It is a slow process but she hopes to make a full recovery" I would probably be more reassured than the everything is wonderful which suggest she might die next week. This could be folk rock's Zsa Zsa unfolding in front of our eyes. What's conspicuous is the reliance on a long-term male friend and a lawyer, it's not like she's greatly surrounded by people who actually love her is it? There's also a fair amount of property and valuable copyrights at stake here. So, in the last case, she's nowt like Zsa Zsa, then. Is it definitely a male friend? I only read the BBC link, and they seem to have avoided the issue, which suggested to me that the writer wasn't sure. Leslie is usually the male spelling here in the UK, but it can be female in the USA. I think I took the same reading of this I had thought that it was a female friend but then clocked the spelling when I reread it after MPFC''s post.

I'm suspecting Botox too, they're well old for pop stars now, right? They've collaborated with Franz Ferdinand to form FFS. Bloody brilliant at Glastonbury. Every post Paul Bearer posts in this thread shall be chalked up to irony. SC Hmm, dunno, saw FFS on Later with Jools Holland and that collision of two intelligent but passionate bands works well, IMHO anyway. Haven't bothered buying or ripping the album, mind. Yes, I watched the Glastonbury set and enjoyed it. That's when I clocked the hairdo. I may have "Number One Song In Heaven" at my funeral. One of my all-time favourites If you should die whilst crossing the street? I'd rather die before I awake, if I'm honest. I had this song on vinyl when I was a student on the B side was an extended version which was even more awesome.

    By-Election Bingo

Hell, cluelessness has never stopped the rest of us entering dead pools, indeed the random dart in the paper method has - according to some winners - been their chosen means of compiling a list of choices from a list of candidates. Heh, considering the randomness of the currently leading theme teams, you're probably right. Though simply choosing random names of a list and then winning would be like winning the lottery, while I'd want to win with something approaching skill. I briefly (for 15 minutes) thought about enetering a team on the last day, but then realised that googling all the MPs for info would take several hours at least. That's why I gave people almost two months to enter. The other option was just writing down the names of all the MPs you can think of and see if you can get to 30. Damn, you guessed my secret. I'm sitting in Louisiana and don't know shit all. I chose MPs that were MPs, lost their seat, and were once again elected. Sadly my source ran out at the letter F or so surnames. After that I simply chose those with the slimmest margin of victory, aside from 3-4 obvious tankers. I had a list of the oldest MPs but what's the fun in that? Slim victories means the slightest fuck up and the recall petition will be flying. SC This is where you might come unstuck. We do not have the provision for recall petitions. Sometimes if an MP cocks up big time they will resign but normally they will sit tight and stand down at the next election (or hope everyone forgets and stand at the next election).

    Read Any Good Books Lately?

I have just finished The City of Death which (for those of you who don't know) is James Goss' adaptation of Douglas Adams' Doctor Who seriel from 1979. It is one of only four seriels from the original run that had not been adapted as books. James Goss is working on the other Douglas Adams script The Pirate Planet which leaves Eric Saward's two Dalek stories (Resurrection & Revelation). The book is an absolute joy and Goss manages to capture a better essence of Adams (helped by the very witty original script) then Eoin Coifer managed in ...And Another Thing
