Do you think he ever said "Just call me Jim"?

No that would be a bit harsh. If the pick flits in and out of hospital during the year then they are legit. It is when the announce a new concert tour and release an album with Lady Ga Ga that you probably realise that the research wasn't up to scratch.

    The Deathlist Gets Franchised

I think Supercentarians are I think ideal for the DDP where the scoring rules penalise you or the Deathrace where the lower the fruit is hanging the better. The main list should stick to really famous people.

    By-Election Bingo

Dear All Seventeen teams in total 198 MPs have at least one selection. The masterlist is on an excel spreadsheet so I am working on how to share the complete list with the site without it being impossible to read But to keep you going here are the top thirteen picks. Gerald Kaufman Manchester Gorton (16) Dennis Skinner Bolsover (15) Eric Pickles Brentwood & Ongar (13) Kenneth Clarke Rushcliffe (12) Nicholas Soames Mid Sussex (11) David Winnick Walsall North (10) Michael Fabricant Lichfield (9) Ronnie Campbell Blythe Valley (8) Alistair Carmichael Orkney & Shetland (8) Bill Cash Stone (8) Ann Clwyd Cynon Valley (8) Zac Goldsmith Richmond Park (8) Michael Meacher Oldham West & Royton (8) I have realised that by the time this competition ends I will be receiving a pension. Rover&Out is the only person to steer clear of the Father of the House and the top pick that would cause a problem for David Cameron is Sir Eric Pickles but I suspect he has a safe seat. Thanks everyone for playing let the (very slow) fun commence.

    Art For Death's Sake

What scares me more than the people that buy these items of garden decor is that he and his wife wore matching outfits That TV series 'Ever Decreasing Circles' was either art imitating life or Mr and Mrs Featherstone were imitating Howard and Hilda.... Apparently Stanley Lebor who played Howard in EDC died last November. Don't recall seeing anyone mention that.

    Political Frailty

Does that mean you are contemplating a late entry? No, I sent you my team 3 weeks ago. I do wish that I had waited a bit longer though. So you did but it doesn't hurt to remind everyone else out there. You confused me by changing your avatar.

it takes you to the homepage. It's basically click bsit from there seedy writers Morbidkid, I hope your teacher would take a red pen to that sentence. Capital letter, spelling mistake (typo easily done) and then the cardinal 'there' error. You will thank me when you take your GCSE English.

I suffered from Bell's Palsy a few years ago. After it was found that it was nothing serious my daughter in all her sympathy said the sight of me trying to eat soup was the funniest thing she had ever seen. (Chip off the old block)

    Prince Philip Duke Of Edinburgh

Too risky to take him off.If he were to die and not be on the list it would be embarrassing for DL.Maybe just put him at the bottom of the list. Agreed as Lee and Macnee have shown even those who are active and still reasonably healthy at that age can just drop. He would be a huge miss. I think we have to stick with him.

Been To Any Good Gigs Lately?

I feel your pain Lardy, Glasto have a sporting chance (and form in this dept) with regard to a late replacement, but I'm guessing your O2 shows go back about a year now. Dave Grohl will come back and honour the deal, he's that kind of guy, right? STADIUM Mary, no poxy 02 for Grohl! I have no idea, haven't had any news from the promoters yet about rescheduling. I will just have to look forward to Madness in September, not quite the same though..... Maybe you can pursuede Suggs to throw in a few Foo Fighters covers into the set list.

    The 9Th Death Of 2015

Herman Wouk seemed to be right. They all seem to be coming from out of nowhere at the moment. So I avoided ones where there has been extensive discussion. Probably wrong.

I don't think I am going to recover from that one. Looks like the chances of me retaining my title are slim.

I agree with the 'hurry up and die' comments are distasteful and not necessary. With the exception of our esteemed late ambassador Ronnie Biggs, who enjoyed his time being on here, how many celebs actually visit deathlist? It's unlikely they would ever see the comments. So far as I know from asking people more up to speed than myself when I meet them at DLCons, virtually no celebs visit and those minor ones who do - like BBC newsperson Eddie Mair - aren't usually the ones we're discussing. Are you suggesting that the presenter of BBC Radio 4's flagship early evening news programme PM is a minor celebrity and not a deity of journalism? Oooohhhh, okay then, but a minor diety, alright? Nobody comes close to Huw Edwards, right? War in Heaven. Top spot goes to Jim Naughtie.

not brother-in-law. No kidding.....first thing that made me twitch was 'wouldn't her BIL be a Kennedy?' I knew something was amiss. ZC Not if they were married to her sister.

    Sir John Hurt

Aye, he's one like Julian Glover, collecting roles in various cult things! the whole article doesn't even mention his other movies just his minor role in Harry Potter My son who is 6 knows him from the animated version of Lord of The Rings as the voice of Aragorn / Strider, from Doctor Who as the War Doctor, and also from the Harry Potter movies. Mind you, all fans can be so myopic. I remember when Geoffrey Hughes died, some places had him "best remembered for his role in Doctor Who". A role which took up a whole two episode. No one watched Corrie, Heartbeat or the internationally renowned Keeping up Appearances there, I take it! I don't even remember Geoffrey Hughes in Doctor Who, although if he appeared in it at a time when Colin Baker or Sylvester McCoy played the Doctor it's likely that I didn't pay much attention as I more or less stopped watching it by that time as I just couldn't get into the storylines and for me they didn't seem right for the role. He was in Trial of a Time Lord, briefly. He played Mr Popplewick Who was actually the Valeyard Who was actually the Doctor This is what you get when your lead writer dies halfway through the season finale and the script editor storms off taking the script outline for the final episode with him leaving the only people left in the building to try and work out an ending based on the scripts to that point. Forget an Adventure in Time & Space they should make a drama out of the last years of Doctor Who before Michael Grade killed it off. If they could find someone suitable evil to play Michael Grade.

Are any of the democratic candidates black because the campaign trail would be the opportunity "to send a message". That was the reason Colin Powell didn't seek the Republican nomination.

    Summer Olympic Deaths/Dead Medallists

You beat me to it! Here is an Aussie report: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-06-17/former-athlete-gold-coast-mayor-ron-clarke-dies/6552010 I like your report better, I put the UK one because it literally came up as I hit the page, and there might have been a DDP hit (he isn't). Cheers. This is a huge death for Australia as he was very popular back in his day. We are having quite an epic death year down under so far with Malcolm Fraser, Joan Kirner, Betty Churcher, Alan Bond, Ritchie Benaud, Stuart Wagstaff and Alan Seymour all gone before we are even half way through the year! Time for you Poms to start pulling your weight by having some major deaths of your own. Like Christopher Lee, Terry Pratchett, Ron Moody, Leon Brittan & Charles Kennedy That's half as many deaths and there are 53 million peopl ein England as opposed to only 23 million in Australia... Seriously, how many of the Aussies listed above are household names in the UK? They are all extremely famous in Australia (far above B-level celeb status.) Household - One (RB) I could add Lance Percevill, Ruth Rendall, Errol Brown, Keith Harris & Shaw Taylor
