I used to hate it when I worked and lived in London. Half the time when taking the tube some guy would be sitting opposite me wearing flip-flops and have their feet stretched out across the aisle. You guys wouldn't survive here 10 months out of the year. I think this might be part of the point. I am being very British about this. In parts of the world where the sun shines brightly for long periods it makes some sort of sense but here it just looks wrong especially as half the time they are likely to be dodging showers.

He stopped doing signing sessions a couple of years ago but he is still writing to the best of my knowledge. He has a short story collections coming out this Autumn. Was there a specific event he pulled out of? It was the Discworld Convention which he pulled out of, however his PA announced that Terry was working on a new Discworld novel. So I still think he's got at least a year or two. Pulling out of covention seems good sense. I still think he will outlive the year.

I preferred him when he was in Take That. Now he's loving angels instead. R.I.P Rob. I would have been less surprised if it had been Robbie or even Rowan for that matter.

Congratulations to The Honey Trap who pick up, I would imagine, a fair shed load of points for Robin Williams. If he had done it tomorrow it would be even more.

Was very shocked to hear this and then got to thinking how few films I had actually watched with him in. Mostly they were kids things that I watched with my daughter such as Night in the Museum, Aladdin and Robots but he is in the excellent Terry Gilliam film The Fisher King which nobody seems to mention in all the tributes. Like many actors who put in the hard work he has made a fair number of dud movies a friend of mine was in the habit of going to the cinema every week and would pick a film each week. After going to see Toys he came to the conclusion that there are not enough good films to justify a trip every week. I did like his cameo appearances such as Osric in Kenneth Branagh's version of Hamlet, The King of the Moon in The Adventures of Baron Munchausen and the disgraced psychiatrist who works in a cold meat store in Dead Again Unfortunately I have had all the songs from Aladdin stuck in my head all morning.

I was listening to my ipod on shuffle at the weekend and it played The Living Years by Mike and the Mechanics and it made me think of Rolf Harris because when he was a guest on TV-AM he blubbed when they played it and put it on camera. How does that fit?

Chapman now brings us close to the point where we are almost level with 2011 (a poor year). We need one more death before 07/12 to go ahead but we are 3 deaths behind 2013 and a whopping 8 deaths behind 2008 (best year at this stage).
