Authors Last A Long Time, But....

Scratch that, she's dead. And with her, Sobol, and Sendak dead any motivation for me making a Children's Book author theme team dies too. I have been thinking about writers too a couple of suggestions that might perk up your interest again Jan Pienkowski b.1936 who provided the distinctive illustrations for Helen Nicol's (b.1937) Meg & Mog books & Alan Ahlberg b.1938 I'm sure I could find hundreds of elderly children's book authors, but if I were to make a theme team for them I would want it to be a list of authors I have heard of before, of series I read when I was younger. Michael Bond (b. 1926), creator of Paddington Bear. Thats a start Bond, Beverly Cleary, Richard Adams, and Eric Carle were all ideas I wrote down. I could stretch the definition a bit to include Sir Terry Pratchett and Harper Lee. It's a moot point though, I have other theme teams put together that were much easier to make and more entertaining. I have an Authors theme team drafted out but Ray Bradbury put a hole in its bows but it is still afloat. I kept some names back!! -
Not forgetting Kenneth Kendall!

She had been found safe and unwell in Arizona. Do I hear the chisels carving her name into the 2013 tablets?

Like it kept Paula Yates going!!! Well she died of a heroin overdose , though taking heroin is a kind of suicide in many ways. And your point is? she didn't commit suicide . No she didn't. However, the care of her four daughters did not prevent her from continuing with her precarious lifestyle which eventually claimed her life.

I was watching said adaptation last night at the behest of my wife and daughter and I wondered about some of the older members of the cast particularly Benjamin Whitrow (Mr Bennett) b.1937 and Christopher Benjamin (Sir William Lucas) b.1934 both still with us and both look like they have enjoyed fine food and wine.

I was just trying to be controversial. Think of all those diseases that you might contract from sucking dirty toes! -
Ideas And Possibilities For 2013

Sheila Mercier is the older sister of actor and charity campaigner Brian Rix (b.1924) who is married to Elspet Gray (b.1929) who played Blackadder's Mum. Hmmm interesting, have there ever been siblings or married couples appeared together on the DL? Know we've had father and son in the past. Staying with soap actors, a slightly tenuous link perhaps but Ron Moody (b. 1924) did a guest spot on EE not too long ago... "But he thought he better think it out again" -

He was diagnosed with alzheimer's about a year ago. He's winding up his farewell tour. He's got a few more years left in him. Cancelled tour dates - time for a reconsideration? -

Not forgetting Edna Dore b.1921 - she played Mike Reid's mum and was also in the Doctor Who episode Fear Her. I had thought Sheila Mercier was already dead - Good suggestion JR976evil -

OK so last year wasn't brilliant but I run a game which had 365 names to pick from and I only got 13 hits 13/365 is much worse than 6/50 but all my players came back and more! -
OK Here is a solution from someone who knows nothing about football and just wants to be controversial. Celtic are given a place in the English/Welsh Championship and each season the winner of the reconstituted SPL goes in to the Conference play-offs for a spot in League 2. Unless of course Scotland vote for independence in 2014.

As he was also a pal of Basil Brush, do you think he is more or less likely to go than Rodney Bewes who is almost unrecognisable. -
