I think Marade is the one who will be best bet to top herself. This could be the sequel to Shannon Matthews: The Musical maybe with a snappy title like The Philpott Fires. (See may tag line for my excuse)

I think this is a bit different. Compared to this situation, Clive James was basically just being a bit of a drama queen because he has a lung condition. I seem to remember his agent or someone like that even saying (shortly after "Clive James: I'm dying" became a media thing) that he'll be around for a while (although we'll see obviously). With Banks we're talking about end-stage cancer. And he's quoting his doctors. Let's give the NHS some credit. If there's one thing they understand, it's death. I agree and was just playing Devil's advocate. Iain Banks is not usually one for seeking our media attention for his private life and so I have no reason to doubt his sincerity. However if we get on to discussing the merits of his books I may have to be less generous.

    Kim Jong-Un

There is a nagging thought in my mind that this could be a way out for the North Korean people. If things have got so bad for the general populace then a military encounter (hopefully not nuclear) might be the spark which allows the western forces into the country Kim and his cronies vanish into China and the slow process of Korean unity begins. If they have nothing left to lose it could be. Although the same argument could be applied to a much less satisfactory solution.

If he makes it to 2014 he's gonna be the joker of this entire forum, right? Well Clive James reckoned he was at Death's door last year!

    Comedians & Comedy Writers

Bobby Ball and Eddie Large aren't looking too well these days. I thought Syd Little looked worse. Tom O'Conner looked older than his years too. Also is it me or did his (Norman's) wife look like she could have been his sister. For me Tom O' Connor looked the most likely candidate for next year.

If kim attacks the south he and north korea are over. China won't support or go to war for north korea it has everything to lose and nothing to gain . Plus a nuclear strike on south korea or north korea and there is a good chance the radiation is drifting up into china. Chances are there if north korea attacks it will be routed pretty fast but not with nukes , north korea will quickly collapse and china will invade from the north to ''protect its interests'' and stop immigrants . The two major flash points are if american and south korean soldiers encounter chinese troops in north korea and there is a confrontation . The second flash point is if on the verge of collapse north korea decides to nuke south korea and release biological weapons. I would like to see the back of north korea hopefully without a world war 3. Thanks for this. This is probably the most succinct and straight forward analysis of the potential situation I have seen. They could do with you on BBC news.

Second hit for my DDP team. Thank you Richard!! Almost didn't include him after his performances last summer in The Sunshine Boys on stage with Danny DeVito. I thought anyone who is still up to live theatre isn't going anywhere soon.

He takes me back to those long gone times of a Labour Government in the 70s and Franklin, the Sun newspapers cartoonist. Was it really that long ago? Who is the one in the middle meant to be? Possibly Merlyn Rees, Home Secretary under Wilson & Callaghan. Makes sense. That makes half the people in the cartoon still living - not bad for 34 years after Labour lost power.

You do know that some criminals specialise in perusing the death announcements for information, then go and burgle the homes of the deceased and chief mourners during the funeral? We've always made sure that someone is in the house during family funerals for this reason. There's always someone who asks if there's "anything I can do", or someone who is glad of an excuse not to go. Don't forget the other group of people who ransack the homes of the recently deceased looking for valuables. - What are they called? ....... ........ Ah Yes - Relatives

    Shove Off, Eh?

Whatever happened to Canadian Paul? He's taken a step-back from dead pooling to concentrate on other stuff, like his PhD. Personally, I love hanging out here to give me a break from the mental anguish of doctoral studies, but CP clearly copes in a different way. Now if only he'd chosen deadpooling as a subject for his PhD, he'd have covered both bases. Yes and then he could take his position at the Institute for Deadpool Research on a Government funded salary of millions.

    Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Wow i guess when good old renato said he was going to screw him to death that was not what he had in mind. Yea i think its just gay celebs and also gay campaigners etc . To me there are certain celebs especially the really camp ones where their sexuality overrides their job. For example i think of graham norton as being a gay guy who is a tv host . Whereas Elton john i think of him as a singer first and gay guy second . oh and toupee wearer third . lol I think this is a bit harsh. When Graham Norton was on C4 I could not cope with his show but since moving onto the BBC he has reinvented himself as a camp Terry Wogan and he comes across as really likeable (much better than Jonathon Ross who he has effectively replaced). Whereas with Elton John I scowl at him first before I even think of his music. Irritating smug git.

Honor Blackman on front cover of Woman's Weekley talking about breast cancer and turning down a CBE. Not sure if this is anything new but despite my committment to the Deathlist I am not going to stand in Sainsburys and read Woman's Weekley to find out more.
