    Tony Martin

With the demise of veteran entertainer Tony Martin it leaves the way clear for the future inclusion of Trigger happy, pikey shooting, killer farmer Tony Martin. He is only 68 but he has plenty of enemies.

    From Cleric To Relic

Damn - I was going to include him for 2013. But it ain't over until Adele.... Guess shes singing away now. I have already identified a suitable replacement! In the end I needed two because I had Hal David as well

Please Let It Be... Paul McCartney

I should probably have held up Live and Let Die as a better example than Mull of Kintyre. Depends whether commercial or artistic success is the criteria.

    Life In Prison

Denied for another 2 years.................make him morbid????? He killed a sacred cow; I doubt he'll ever be released. If he'd shot Ringo he'd have been let out in 1985 to a healthy smattering of applause. After his performance at The Olympic opening ceremony I wish Chapman had done Paul McCartney It took you that long to wish that particular role reversal? If Wings* didn't do it for you, The Frog chorus should definitely have done it. *Wings...The Band the Beatles could have been. I am going to ride to the defence of Paul McCartney. With Wings Paul was doing what he wanted to do - make music with people he liked. He made more money from Wings than he ever did from the Beatles and they had some notable successes - Band on the Run, Mull of Kintyre etc. The question that needs to be asked is What would the Beatles have been without Paul McCartney? - John Lennon and George Harrison did not make music which was as accessible as Paul did. We have gone a bit off topic and I think it is my fault!!

    World's Oldest

If these stats are accurate this could be bad news Of the seven previous people who reached 116 four of them went on to reach 117 that is over a 57% chance of surviving till her next birthday but the Deathlist will cover 2013 the calendar year which could take her on the way towards 118.

    Political Frailty

Last time that happened in the Netherlands was in 1986, when Koos Rietkerk, Minister of the Interior and aged 60, died in office, from a heart attack, IIRC. One Dutch Prime Minister died in office, Thorbecke. This man is highly regarded in Dutch political history. His name is almost synonymous with the 1848 state reform, in which the political principle of ministerial reponsibility in was introduced and all political power removing from the king. Hie died in 1872 from pneumonia, aged 74. Oh, and he wasn't handsome: regards, Hein He looks like he is about to spit out a mouse! LOL Thanks for the detail about Dutch political reform I now feel better informed and slightly chastised as I was being very parochial as I was thinking of the British Cabinet and the devolved parliaments.

    Nancy Reagan

Are you planning to kill her on that day? Offended!! I am: 1) Not am American 2) Not a Romney supporter 3) Not someone who kills old ladies If I were an American I would be actively supporting Obama and if I was an old lady killer I would wait until after 06th Nov

Denied for another 2 years.................make him morbid????? He killed a sacred cow; I doubt he'll ever be released. If he'd shot Ringo he'd have been let out in 1985 to a healthy smattering of applause. It has been suggested that he believed Lennon to be an imposter and he was the real Lennon. If he had believed he was Ringo Starr he would probably have shot himself.

    Political Frailty

I think that Eric Pickles might be the next recipient of the Cook-Dewar prize for Death in Political Office. He is certainly not the oldest member of the cabinet but the photo that graced the cover of i last week made him look unhealthy. I would be interested to know if you think that any of his cabinet colleagues would be more likely to go. (This is highly theoretical as deaths of serving cabinet ministers are very rare)

    Pope Benedict XVI

Are there any more details on the ill health he has been plauged with? John Paul II looked terrible for many years before he finally passed away.

    Nancy Reagan

Is there any truth to the rumour that the big event of the presidential campaign for the republicans will be Nancy's funeral? The chance for the great & the good of the party to be seen with Mitt Romney and no-one can really be critical without seeming disrespectful. Mark my words if Romney is behind in the polls look for some Nancy electoral action around 21st October.

    Ian Brady

Why certainly, notable instances would be Russia's Andrei Chikatilo, aka the Rostov Ripper, and Belgian child killer Marc Dutroux. Now you mention it I recognise Marc Dutroux's name but I would not have been able to summon it and this case was noticable because it was linked to corruption at high levels. I notice Mark Chapman is up for parole again - another person who sparks fierce debate but he only killed one person!

    Ian Brady

Hein's posts have got me thinking and last night I could not think of a single multiple murder from a non-English speaking nation (with the exception of Brevik, but I thought that was because it was recent and politically motivated). Do seriel killers tend to get reported outside of their own media?

    Ian Brady

The UK media have a fascination with this topic from Dramas to documentries and a full report everytime Brady does or says anything but even if Brady dies this will not go again. The Moors Murderers will go down alongside Jack the Ripper and Doctor Crippin in UK folk lore. No judgement but I think this is true. Fred West and Harold Shipman suggest to me the death penalty is the easy way out.

Buy is the important thing here. Before Atlanta (1996?) they used to just give them away.

    Ian Brady

he said he'd only do it when he was about to die.It looks as though this long ,sad saga is finally drawing to a close... I disagree. From what has been reported on the news this is not a current action from Brady but comments from his mental health advocate who says he has given to her (no indication as to when) a letter for Mrs Johnson which was only to be opened after his death. She has been arrested and her house searched. There is nothing to suggest a change in Brady's attitude or health. Keith's brother has asked for privacy at this time with his mother being in a critical condition.

    Prince Philip Duke Of Edinburgh

Yeah but he's not just any pensioner and is not treated in an NHS hospital Actually I live just down the road from ARI, which is where he's being treated currently. It couldn't be more NHS. Well they're hardly likely to drag their feet where he's concerned, I think most would agree Having once worked in the NHS I can assure you they don't drag their feet with patients like this. Patients like auld Phil get the very best care, only the best doctors and consultants work their cases and only ward sisters and senior nurses take care of them. Their NHS experience is very different to that you or I would have. He'll be going nowhere soon, barring a surprise heart attack or stroke he'll be plodding along and offending all races and religions for at least a decade to come In all honesty, I have no major gripes with my experiences on the NHS, but then I've never been seriously ill Has everyone installed irony filters on their computers? Do I really have to put an emoticon after every statement that is not meant to be taken at face value?
