My team has been assembled and PMd to MH. That was a useful hour on the train from London last night.

DL Status Updates: Statements, Obsevations & Verbal Tennis

This is probably my favorite Monkees song. Inspired by Mickey Dolenz fascination with British culture when he came across for a party held for the Beatles (The Four Kings of EMI sitting stately on the floor). -
Ironically the show he presents/(ed) on Radio 2 has the same format as Jimmy Saville's Double Top 10 show which used to run on Radio 1.

Read Any Good Books Lately?

No more Thomas Covenant. Please. The first three were good, the second three were pointless, and I have never read a more depressing set of books besides the Bible. It is a shame people think of Covenant when Donaldson is mentioned his Mordant's Need and Gap series are some of the best books I have ever read. My wife though has read all 10 Covenant books. I gave up after three. -
He has been busy paying tribute to everyone else over the past two months. Trying to raise his profile maybe?

The EU Referendum Hokey Cokey
Bibliogryphon replied to YoungWillz's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
What is scary is the important decision seems to be reduced to a proxy war on who is going to lead the Conservative party. Boris' decision is not altruistic he is positioning himself. If the Out campaign lose he will graciously accept the will of the people and go back to being a loyal Conservative but if Out wins Cameron will have to go. It would be too humiliating to stay. -
This counts then? No, because there is no Wikipedia in Klingon. At least not in a wikipedia.org domain. There is She is an expert in Klingingon.

It was understable regardless of grammatic errors. What is understable? Is that where all the horse shit goes? -
2016 Irish General Election
Bibliogryphon replied to The Mad Hatter's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Are you having an election then? Are you old enough to vote? My comment may have been meant in jest but it was not until today that I saw any reference in the UK social media about the Irish Election which is disgraceful. If the vote was in France then half of the BBC news team would have been dispatched. A distinct lack of respect here for our closest European neighbors. -

This seems to be a man whose ill health has either been exaggerated or is of such a low grade and lingering nature he will be retired and ill for longer than he was famous.

I'm sorry I cannot resist.... ....Nun of the above
-
Ooh, I feel a debate coming on; is there any reputable way of identifying the world's most famous nuns? I mean, there might be one in India or somewhere who's a local hero to hundreds of millions and largely unknown outside of that land. Robbie Coltrane and Eric Idle?

As the proprietor of the Literary theme team I doubly kicked myself. Just thought she wasn't ill enough. -
Sidney is in my Shadowlist this year.

What? interpersonal relationships? -
Aye, when you put it like that it's shocking they're all still drawing breath. Isn't there, like, something we could do - maybe a chubster series of The Jump on Channel 5, eh? The Roll or possibly Avalanche!

Now not going to the Berlin film festival. Those pictures do not look healthy.

I realised the mistake I had made after I posted that. I did read Time's Signature which I got from the local library but very little of it stayed with me. I am not sure Doctor Who is suited to the short story format. -

Who Do You Think Will Win The Democrat And Republican Nominations?
Bibliogryphon replied to Bibliogryphon's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I think that if Bernie gets the nomination he will be looking for someone who will run after him that might be in 2020 or he might still feel fit enough to go on to 2024. If Warren is reluctant to stand then she may not be the person he is looking for. Unless he is an avid reader of Douglas Adams and believes in The Man Who Rules The Universe scenario. -
Didn't Honduras go to war over the result of a football match?

You will know the face the Commander from Police Academy or the awful soap actor in Tootsie. Having seen neither, I wouldn't. I would recommend Tootsie and I would recommend route canal surgery above watching any PA film > 2
