    Club 27

Those three years can't come soon enough... Ed Sheeren turns 27 on 17 Feb 2018. Just thought I'd, like, share that with the group. Don't you need to have a certain amount of street cred to get in to that club? Just being that age shouldn't be enough. he could be, he fits in that image....has 2 albums, a hit and is relatively unknown by the older crowd, the only problem is i don't think he's and addict of any kind Except possibly pies...

Biggest 'miss(es)' by the DL Committee 2016

You will know the face the Commander from Police Academy or the awful soap actor in Tootsie.

    Bhumibol Adulyadej

I know it's like Zsa Zsa he is being kept alive when in reality both of there bodies are buggered and if nature was allowed to take it's course they would of both been dead years ago but because of who they are and the money they have available they are both being cruelly kept alive when in reality it would be kinder if they were both left to die with dignity an animal would be treated better, the only real question is who will finally snuff it first Zsa Zsa or Bhumibol Adulyadej. They probably have more justification in keeping him alive. I do not think there is going to be rioting in the streets if Zsa Zsa dies All though there maybe a lot of cross Deathlisters if she doesn't

    Read Any Good Books Lately?

The only Short Trips book I read was Wonders which I think I left (deliberately) in a holiday home we were renting in Wales.

    Atheists

Conventional wisdom expected Lalla Ward's first husband to go before her current one.

    Next Music Shock Death!

Before the recent concerts I would have been concerned about her weight gain but by all accounts the concerts were amazing and she looked very well on them. She is a private person so I imagine she would do something like Bowie. Just tune in to the news one day and she is dead. I do not want to imagine that day.

    The dead of 2016

But as widows living in expensive properties are what the Tories need to get them over the electoral finish line it made sense. They just didn't expect everyone to twig that it was blatant gerrymandering.

    Read Any Good Books Lately?

Have you read any of the Dr Who stories by Alexander Leithes? I believe he's written 3 or 4 of them. Wasn't aware of these unless he wrote them under a pen name.

    Deathrace 2016

Congratulations DDT. My performance this year was a stinker so I will have to think long and hard about the 2017 list. Many thanks to MPFC for keeping score and watching out for all those names.

    Room Lovely, Look You.

I learned to drive in a Mini and owned a 1961 model back in the day. The greatest car ever made IMHO, however, not to brilliant when you are 6ft 1 and have to fold yourself to get in and unfold when you get out. Where I used to work one of the managers turned up everyday in a little white mini and watching him get out was an amazing site he was tall but broad as well. The car almost spat him out. The theory was that he continued to drive said car to maintain his heightened levels of bile and aggression.

Archive Hour on Radio 4 tomorrow night is all about obituaries We probably won't get a mention though, unless they interview Eddie Mair

My first car was a Green Talbot Sunbeam that I bought from an Irish Gentleman. I went on Honeymoon in that car.

    By-Election Bingo

FAO Maryport The Voice of YMP might be on for a good one here, long term. Mike Gapes had a heart attack, and was only released from hospital last week, 2 months on. Shit, he's lording it over me already without this encouraging boost. This ain't a sprint, ain't a marathon but it's an ultra-marathon, right. Well unless some blue ones start dying we have still got another 50 months to play.

    Read Any Good Books Lately?

I have read almost 300 Doctor Who adaptations/original novels. Possibly more. My wife reads all the literary things and then tells me which ones are worth bothering with.

    Death Anniversary Thread

Is there still a small part of your nation that believes that the Belgians are all just treacherous bastards who should be forcibly brought back into the fold and swear fealty to your King or were you glad to see the back of the dull equine devouring pen pushers?

I think that one might take a bit of explaining to Sir C. You just can't get the Staff these days.

    Joey Feek

Not sure I would put Joey Feek in the category of "big named people" Christian country is quite a small niche in that music genre. 1. You coulda stopped the first paragraph where I cut it off. 2. I've been wondering (as I simply refuse to care enough to look it up) whether J+R are country or bluegrass or Christian music category. (WTF is 'Christian Country?' Is that what they're cubbyholed into?) Reason I say this is that another nominee in one of those categories is as bad if not worse shape than Joey so she won't win on the sympathy card as most would assume. Said person shall remain nameless in case beyond comprehension they live 11 months. SC Christian Country is similar to Christian Rock, except that it's country music. Bluegrass is country combined with elements of jazz and English folk music. Good grief. I just had a look. There are so many categories that there could be a prize for everybody! Which reminds me of the Hello Cheeky sketch "Today in a competition to find the sexist man on television named Nicholas Parsons..... ...Nobody won"
