Yep, that's the gist of it. A little background to add to what Lawro said about Tyrrell. Brundle won't say anything - he'll just continue the Lewis Hamilton love-fest ITV have all the time. He would've said something if Ferrari had won their argument & Felipe Massa now led the World Championship. -
I beg to differ - Jade Goody still breathes..

What a terrible shame & another death completely out of the blue. He was indeed a great character, but also a good man, and, especially at the level he was in, an extremely competent & able manager. He will indeed be sorely missed
-
He's become more active, and he has lost some more weight (judging by the photo)but Sir Cyril is in hospital after falling over again. Once again the NHS alarm system comes to his rescue...

Michael Foot is 94 today. To mark it, he has released a new book. The BBC has a picture of Foot on his 94th birthday, and he is going down to the pub to mark this grand occasion. Happy Birthday Michael Foot! Sharp as a tack still. He could well make 100, despite his frailness.

Albert Ellis, pyschologist, named by two teams on the DDP is dead, but with no UK obit yet. Also dead is Hungarian born but UK & German based playwright, theatre director & producer George Tabori at the age of 93.

L'ancien Champion Jean Stablinski est décédé Ooh la la.

Why did they ban you TF, if there was a reason given? Or are you sworn to silence & revealing all in your autobiography. (RRP £14.99 at all good bookshops) ?

Andre Milongo, former Prime Minister of Congo (that's Congo, Congo of Um Bongo drinking fame) not DR Congo/Zaire has died, aged 72. His Wikipedia page, eternally optimistic however, still says Milongo is a prime candidate for the 2009 Presidental elections.

Blimey! Someone's not taken their happy pills today. It was just a relatively light-hearted post in response to Anubis & most of the above have already revealed their team names if you bother to read the whole thread or most of this forum. I did apologise in advance for the spelling, but you can stick it up your arse if that's your attitude.

Right ho, as I'm on holiday during that span time, I'll be entering early. I won't have the same theme team as before, in case anyone else wants to pick a whole load of evil despots.
-
Fair enough - I goofed up that sentence. I could think of a smart-arsed reply, but it would only fall flat on its face, a bit like Zinzan Brooke did out of the taxi.
-
When is the entry deadline, CP? I have my theme team ready but I'm going on holiday late August & don't want to miss the cut off point.(Sad, I know, putting CPDP deadlines in front of holiday fun )

TMIB is ___________ DDT is _______________, Handreijka is _________________ or whatever it is (apologies) So I think I know most of the alter egos on here, but I'm not sure about Banshees Scream, Canadian Paul & Windsor The Troll. [Edited to protect the anonymous - CR]

It was an Italian actually, Liuzzi. Good stuff first of all. Markus Winkelhock in the dog slow Spyker leading 6 laps on his debut - doing more in his first race than Stefan Johansson ever did in years of racing. Finally, a fight for the lead on the track. And nearly a fight on the podium. Jenson Button scampering like a frightened rabbit from his car whilst Lewis Hamilton sat patiently waiting to get back on track. (And then people wonder why Button is becoming forgotten quickly.) And a driver & a safety car? Well... sort of. Happened to the same driver - not once.. but twice. Step forward Taki Inoue. And being towed back after Bernd Maylander, the safety car driver, crashed into Inoue during practice.. Also, Prof. Sid Watkins, the medical guru for so many years, said that, in the early days of racing, things were a little fraught & Derek Daly had to go off the road once to avoid the medical car which was pootering along after an incident... -
Looks alright here, mind. Bizarrely, this interview is around the same time as the other one.
-
Yes, but you never saw him, hence my definition of a bit part & I think that will be his obit downfall. I also think Blake's 7 is far too cultish for the broadsheet media. But we shall see, young TMIB, we shall see.

I think with Messner's death, this is the new Top 10 1 Meet Your Maker (Football Fan) 68 2 STAB_in_the_DARK (Rotten Ali) 64 3 No Noose Is Good Noose 55 4 Impaled On The Antlers Of Doom 50 Octopus of Odstock ('Tis I) 50 6 Dead Men Walking 49 Carkers' Convention 2007 (MPFC) 49 8 Eejit 48 9 RIP It Up & Start Again (Anubis?) 48 10 Mollie Sugden's Old Pussy 47 ..but I could be wrong. Both Windsor & TMIB got double points so that might've put them in the Top 10?
-
So? A lot of UK actors don't get obits, even though it's arguable they should. I mean Nancy Mansfield, despite appearing in one of the most popular 80's shows & having a long stage career has had no obit, to name just one. Tuddenham, who only had one noteworthy role, and a bit part role at that, is on the periphery of fame & I'm not all surprised that the only publication that has covered his death is the Littlehampton Gazette in all honesty. I would say Notapotato's best hope is a "Lives in Brief" in The Times, otherwise Tudders is joining the ranks of John Smyth & Scarabelotti.

Oscar Niemayer. I had a dream he died, and that's as good a reason as any. I also had a dream Sir Peter Hall died, but he's not on this list..... yet.
-
MIB, she already has a UK obit. Courtesy of the BBC. Well, this certainly gives my DDP a massive boost as she was my joker, and I would be lying if I said I'm distraught to hear the news, but although I had no real idea of who she was in life, I must say that her fight against cancer was incredibly resiliant & courageous & to have the gumption to go on TV just days before her death knowing she looked horrific (not an easy thing for a once vain woman) is also extremely laudable.
