Spoilers is here Or that's the best I can find, anyhoo. I concur with the above comments by the esteemed Hon. Mr McNally esquire re. the whole hullabaloo.

Yes By the way, nothing for Peter Tuddenham, bar a tribute in the Littlehampton Gazette, which, I'm afraid does not count for points scoring in the DDP.

When I searched yesterday, I think that (and the vision on thread) was all I found, so yes, that looks like it all. Good work!

There's info in the I & P thread, which hasn't been transferred over, LG, which caused all the furore of the locked thread in the first place....

Raymond Barre - Former French PM, now suffering from serious heart and kidney problems. Will stay in hospital until September, according to his wife (French link) Bob Denard - French mercenary suffering from Alzheimer's and kidney failure. Also convicted last year of "belonging to a gang who conspired to commit a crime." Jailed for a year. That won't help his health, surely....

For some reason, the Vision On thread has been locked, so I'll post an update on Tony Hart here. This blog confirms Tony is still in ill health, but he has been out & about (or was in May) & in this photo looks relatively healthy, me thinks.

Former Luton Town legend, David Preece, has died, at just 44 years of age, after a short illness. I used to live near Luton & went down to watch them from time to time when Reading had an away game, and once or twice I met Preece, who was down-to-earth & had plenty of time for everybody - a very nice man indeed. He also played in the Premiership for Derby & was a member of the famous Littlewoods Cup win for Luton in 1988. A great loss, at a relatively early age.

High drama today for Ali Meshkini. He started the day as dead as can be, then was upgraded to being in a coma, and is now much better as the day ends. That's twice now that Meshkini has been reported as being dead in 2007. Either he's the new Lazarus or Iain has moved to Iran to be a news reporter.

Well, how about this one, where she is mentioned quite a lot? But then again, you didn't a search after all.... -

Happy Birthday Phantom - hope you have a great day! -
Trio of footballing deaths to report:- Former Reading FC player Roy Green has died, aged 75, West Country legend Dave Hancock, who played for the holy trinity of Exeter City, Plymouth Argyle AND Torquay United has died, at the age of 68, and Ove Grahn, who played in the 1970 & 1974 World Cups for Sweden, is also död, aged 64.

Why oh why didn't I make Barzan Al-Tikriti my joker instead of TFM?
-
*groan* That's even worse than Cowboy Ronnie's Soe Win joke To clear a few things up:- Sidney Wood is still alive - a good candidate all round, me thinks. Dr Munch apparently died in 2001. Frank Shields middle name was indeed Xavier. so it says here.

That is very sad. I really hope she gets the obits she deserved. There's one in The Independent this morning.

I've found a very long, very detailed interview with Farrakhan, where he goes into his health details in a LOT of detail. To summarise, he is still not a completely well man, per se, but equally, I don't think he'll die just quite yet. Farrakhan interview (April 2007)

Jean van de Velde, he of Carnoustie glorious failure, may have bone cancer. I do hope not, but one to keep an eye on. -
Somewhat surprised that in all this talk of famous Belgians & those likely to die that Pierre Harmel has not been mentioned. Former Belgian Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, UN diplomat, and tireless European legislator. Wikipedia entry Born in 1911, so that makes him one of the oldest living ex-Premiers around. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On another note, Paul Frere is going nowhere - he has made a full recovery from his injuries sustained whilst testing a sportscar & was at Spa chatting to Mr. Coulthard, who is now the grand-daddy in F1. Frere & Coulthard. Paul Frere is 90, by the way. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maybe both of these deserve a mention in other threads (I & P's & F1 motor racing respectively) but why not mention two Belgians at once, especially as another Belgian, young Tintin, is involved in a racial slur.

New series was on tonight. A few DL observations: 1) Peter Sallis clearly looks his age, but bar the obvious difficulty his eye condition gives him in terms of moving around, looks okay. 2) Eric Sykes, although playing a drunk, didn't look brilliant, certainly not as good as I've seen him in other recent programmes. Seemed to have gained a bit of weight. Don't think he'll drop straightaway but maybe not as healthy as I once marked him down for. 3) Tom Owen is getting significantly older & significantly fatter. 4) Keith Clifford was missing, and no explanation that I can find. May just be because of other commitments, or to be Iainesque, maybe 'cos he's ill? 5) Frank Thornton is immortal.

LFN is right. What wimps. I broke both my legs in a mountain bike descent after hitting a large stone head on at 30 m.p.h. Being British, I dusted myself down, laughed off wellwisher's concerns, saying that it was a mere graze, and went on to win the mountain bike descent time trial, in record time too. Huzzah! *** *** Please note that due to OOO's age, certain memories are not entirely a copy of what actually happened. But I did break my legs on a bike and it bloody hurt. Still does, at times, when the cold gets in. Which, living in Britain, is quite a lot.

No, you've not listed anyone now dead, CP. Keep up the good work.

Nancy Mansfield, British stage actress who was best known to the general public for her role as secretary Peggy Masters in Bergerac in the 1980's, has died, aged 81.

Well, they're dropping quicker than DL candidates right now - Enrico Garbuglia of Italy is the latest to go.

Yes, but never again. Too US centric, not well organised, very impersonal & not enough choice allowed are my four main gripes. I entered my team back in September but I've already forgotten who I put on and aren't really bothered how many I get any more. The DDP tends to be the "big daddy" of the deathpools due to the fact it's been running 11 years, the open-ness of the rules, and allowing people to think outside the box & pick any candidates they want.

Gerald Ford Lady Bird Johnson Must Die needs a new name, me thinks... Just as I was dragging my way up the table too. My biggest miss of the year by far.

Even I have to agree that Tammy Faye will be next. Or Abe Vigoda. Just because.
