As Allingham boogies on, two other WWI veterans can't keep up the pace & drop - Giovanni Carta of Italy & Wilhelm Remmert of Germany.

Well, to help you, you can start by perhaps removing Debra Shipley, CP. According to this article, she has won her fight over breast cancer.

Something tells me that putting Anne Nicole Smith on a 2008 Deathlist would be a big mistake... .. as it is also a big mistake to call her healthy.... -
How interesting... Maybe I will check via Polish wiki before I go for any obscure ex-sportsmen. Strange they would have it & not German Wiki, but seems a reliable date - they even have a birthplace for one....

Arrangements made for Henry's birthday! Good for him. Although he won't read this, I wish him well on his 111th birthday, an achievement in itself.

It wouldn't surprise me. A number of Grand Prix drivers died aeons ago, but we're only just finding out - ie Roberto Bonomi (found out 2005, died 1992 ish), Ernst Klodwig (found out 1993, died 1973!!). There are still numerous high profile racers that are dead but no-one knows when. I suspect HGTS died years ago, don't know for certain, motorcycling isn't my thing unless it crosses over to 4 wheels. I wonder if Rudolf Rominger the ski-ier is still alive? He would be 100 next year...

A huge loss to the sport. He had been very ill, but we had all hoped he would pull through.

CP, Renton has now died & Castro & Kevorkian's profiles need updating, but that's not why i'm posting. Fine job, btw Michael DeBakey still out & about But now wheelchair bound. Doing well for a 98 yr old with a heart condition & in a wheelchair, mind.

Manning laughs at death list. Not our one, but seems like a good sport.

It's still not clear how ill Il is but he made his first public appearance for a month the other day, which may be a sign all is not as bad as suggested.

Kirk Douglas reflects on life, future etc. The upshot of it all is yet another of the DL graduates for 2007 appears to be in excellent general health. Good for Kirk, bad for DL

Dimmock certainly had kept a low profile recently, but it appears he's happily retired. He'll be on telly soon, in a documentary about Queen Elizabeth II's coronation and has fond memories of the toilets at that time. -

Oh, no he doesn't... In fact, it would seem his liver is in full working order.... -
Farrakhan as "sharp and flamboyant as ever". Certainly seems to have recovered well so far.

Same rules as Robin Cook, but Mo Mowlam's loss was a huge one in British politics. Gareth Williams, Lord Williams of Mostyn for the most recent cabinet minister death. Ian Gow was a high-ranking government minister at the time of his killing by the IRA back in 1990, but not a member of the cabinet as my mind originally thought. Sir Anthony Berry was killed in the Brighton bombing in 1984. At the time of his death, he was one of the government's chief whips. I swear there was at least one in the mid 90's, of natural causes, when John Major's paper-thin majority kept going down & down by MP's snuffing it left, right & centre. (and wasn't there a Lib Dem senior figure who died early? I can't remember..) -

Donald Dewar? Lord Williams? Both died whilst they were part of the Labour cabinet and/or held a major role in the Labour power machine.... -
What an incredibly incompetent police force Jamaica has. Seems possible to get away with murder there... Hmmm.. I wonder if Heather Mills would like to come on a holiday there with me?

He's very well indeed, MPFC. All those years on the farm have kept him fit too - he should be on this planet for aeons yet. -
Yes we do & it's been the same every year for decades, MPFC. Premiersh*t? A bit of jealousy creeping in there young man?

Congratulations Bou, I appear to have missed this good news originally. What a photogenic little chap he is - he's lovely! Well done & glad all is well. -
It was for Alan Ball, yes. Either that, or they were mourning Frank Lampard's international career or the fact Steve McLaren is still in charge. On the subject of the England match, a proud moment for all of us at the Madejski. Now I've been following Reading for a bit, but I'd need to be at least 109 to remember our last international for England. Nicky Shorey had a good, solid game & hopefully will win a few more caps soon. Looked very comfortable tonight. SHOREY FOR ENGLAND!!

That's the trouble with You Tube. For every great thing, there's five bad things, I guess. But there must be some good footage on there as well one hopes... Every GP this year has been piss poor. My personal highlight of the season is Takuma Sato coming 8th for Super Aguri at Barcelona & Valencia getting a Grand Prix as that means I can finally get a pass & watch the GP for virtually nothing... as a freelance GP journo I have to pay with the rest of the plebs for non UK events... As for the Monaco no passing media nonsense, if it had been Hamilton 1st, Alonso 2nd, do you think there would have been so much moaning from the Brit press? Nope... Oh, forgot to mention. GP Live a few weeks ago was a bit of a shambles but from a DL point of view.... Tony Brooks looks 10 years younger than he is & Stirling Moss looks a lot better than he has in recent years. Clemar Bucci looked very well for his advanced years too. Think that's all for now. -

Chiluba to stand trial Basically, the judge agrees with me that all these "collapses" and "health scares" are probably a sham, or at least exagarreated & now Freddy's going to get what he deserves...
