Gabriel Garcia Marquez to become peace mediator. Hmm. Seems to have plenty of kick about him yet.

Bout 230 strong. The "serious" list is about 90, but the thing is I keep seeing possibilities where I think "I'd better keep them in some kind of list in case I forget about them later", hence the list is rather elagonated to 200 odd. Hutton was about 25th on my list for 2006, IIRC. Never mind. EDIT I knew I should've waited to re-do that Jimmy Stewart list. Another co-star, Eddie Firestone has also died.
-
Hmm.. might have guessed this would happen. Spent a little time reshuffling my DDP '08 list & updating a list of Jimmy Stewart co-stars still living, so what happens a few hours after printing that out? Sod's law, really... On my reserve list last year, but Wrongopedia seemed to signify she was okay. Ah well, a good actress, I remember her role in The Greatest Show on Earth. Shame.

Wrongopedia says he died in 2002. Try as I might, I'm struggling to find any evidence online to support it.

Ideas and possibilities for 2008

and most importantly, of course, he is a former Reading FC player & manager. I wish him well. -
Firstly, is there a UK Obit? Secondly, shouldn's she lose a point as she was a decade older than mere youngsters del Toro & Bertrand?

I kind of fit in between the two schools of thought here. The crucial part for me is that she spends most of the day sleeping.. but in a chair. At least she obviously has something in her to get out of bed & into a chair in the first place, and having lost & (seen the deteration of) a much loved Grandma to dementia, having some gumption, or not being resistent to being moved, is a minor victory. I suspect as long as she stays healthy, she'll last a little while yet. It's really only when there's other complications that there might be further problems.

According to President Musharraf, bin Laden is constantly flitting to & from the Afghan/Pakistan border in South-East Afghanistan, not far away from old mucker Mullah Omar, also in Afghanistan. FWIW, I fully believe Musharraf. If bin Laden strays too far into Pakistan, they've got him. As it is, bin Laden knows he's safe in Afghanistan as the US daren't try & get him & the Afghans don't seem bothered. Therefore it's easier for the Americans to blame the Pakistanis for "Not trying." Musharraf's book that came out recently makes fascinating reading on the Al-Qaeda/Pakiastani terrorist cells. The Americans seem to want to "finish off" in Iraq (whatever that entails) before having a go at Osama. Of course, if Pakistan DOES get there first, expect the Americans to still take the credit for it. If they sent a little more military EQUIPMENT and not personnel, it would help track OBL & MO a lot quicker. Just my take on it. Don't really want to get into a political debate about America/Asia etc.

Getting even worse, but vows to carry on. I wrestled with putting Thompson in and in a 23rd hour decision, dropped him for Jimmy Langley. It'll probably be my biggest mistake of the year. -
Er.. she was on the BBC today. Looked okay.
-
Nearly all the ex-cast members were paying tribute today, including Mollie Sugden, so she's obviously well enough to still speak her mind (after a relatively quiet spell)

I said Charles Lane to be the 1st, I see no reason to change that. If anything, me picking him keeps him alive, which is a good thing.

Happy Birthday RM & a DL hit to celebrate it with too! I suggest a fitting drink & food would be: -
Well done DL & anyone who picked him for a DP. Funny, he would've died about the same time I was looking for a bottle of wine in the supermarket last night. I looked at it and thought "Well, he's still alive." I didn't choose that wine, you will be pleased to hear. So two Gallo brothers gone in about two weeks. Still they can save time on the funeral expenses & bung them both in together.

Update on Suzanne Pleshette:- http://img401.imageshack.us/my.php?image=enq030507suzvb3.jpg Doesn't mention if she's clear of cancer or not...

Excellent article about some of Hollywood's crusty old men, including James Garner & for CP, Tom Poston:- Hollywood & Golf Seems Garner is struggling a little bit, especially with the heart probs.

We'll never know. I was so bad I went straight to sleep but looking at my text message I wrote before I flopped into bed, it would've been a close run thing as to whether I could've made more sense on a keyboard. Anyway, I've noted a subtle change in your posts, TLC. Much wisdom and big words. Still totally off-topic & still thoroughly enjoyable & readable, but much more wordly-wise & thoughtful. If anything, mine have become shorter & to the point. -
Joey Pyle. Report and Pics at the website too.

Well, HELLO! Can't see Phillips going anywhere. He's still very active, considering his age.
-
Biggs isn't the last survivor. Where di you get that from, MPFC? Bruce Reynolds is still going strong, for a start - he appeared at a funeral last week. Looked a little gaunt, but otherwise okay.

The Princess of Luxembourg, who I am sure has been mentioned somewhere on this site, has died Link.

Baroness Lena Jeger has died, after a long illness. Times Obit This makes up for losing Forte & Bennett, not least as she's a unique hit.

No thanks, but thanks for asking.
