    Ideas and possibilities for 2007

Damn, that's one of my secret candidates for DDP gone now. He's allegedly far iller than just an acute cardiac condition, which is pretty bad in itself. Thankfully I still have 7 or 8 secret candidates that DDT has not discovered yet.

Ideas & Possibilities - The Names

Couldn't really see anywhere else to put this: Pleshette & Poston health update: Suzanne Pleshette may have lost all her hair — but she hasn’t lost her sense of humor. I received this card from her: "Suzanne Pleshette & Tom Poston Medical Update: Bad news: I lost all of my hair. — Good News: I’m saving a fortune on Bikini Waxes I look like sh*t — Tom has lost all peripheral vision so he doesn’t know. Tom has a catheter in his dickie — At his age we’re just glad he has a lump in his pants. We have round the clock nurses, a walker and a wheel chair — WE’RE MADLY IN LOVE AND WE FEEL LUCKY. AIN’T LIFE GRAND!!!!!!" I phoned Suzanne. She sounded — like Suzanne — loud, laughing and full of life. "We’re doing so well –" she started. "It’s all going according to plan. I’ve finished the chemo and I’ll have the surgery in a week." She indicated the prognosis for the surgery was excellent. "And," she added, "I hope your cold is better."

    Bill Deedes

Godot, he was on Suez, which was filmed in the summer, on only last week on BBC2. The man is still active. Or as active as one can be for his age & fraility.

    Near misses 2006

Re. Newby - Great shame. I always enjoyed his travel writing. Also won a MC for his war efforts. Another brave & talented man who probably won't get the mainstream coverage he deserves upon death, and just "sidelined" to the broadsheet obits.

    Near misses 2006

Search seems fine, as it brought up Phantom's original post in a millisecond. Blaming the tools sounds like a poor defence to me, Vinegar Tits, which is highly apt as you support Leeds United.

    John Inman

Yes, but Sophie McDonnell makes up for some of the lame names above. I know which footballer you refer to but, by doing so, you left off the most famous Prestonian ever.. Sir Tom Finney All About Preston. Apparently Preston has a love-hate relationship with its bus station.... I visited Preston a few years back. I wasn't overly impressed. There are far worse places, but far better ones too.

    Hollywood Possibilities

It's a great idea. There's still a decent cast list that can be assembled. Finally, we'd have a movie that showed modern moviegoers what real acting is. S'pose the only thing that might scupper it is insurance costs?

    Mirza Tahir Hussain

Other way round, DDT. If he gets executed at 9pm Pakistani time, it'll be 4pm here, 31st Dec 06.

    Ross Davidson

Godot, if you read Bruno's account, you will find he is legless, not harmless. So, although he could not be the star of the Fugitive, he could be a whole range of other villains.

    Jane Tomlinson Killer Ride

TLC, wise words, and a lot more than you usually write. (generally, not wise words, I mean ) With your paragraph: Just to make it clear, I have no desire to see Jane die of cancer and I'm sure she's done some great work for charity and highlighting the cause I agree. The sticking point in my throat, as I said to Vinegar Tits over this a while back, is two things:- 1) Saying she doesn't do any of her charity stunts for publicity. As already stated she was a nobody before, now she's a "Woman of the Year", MBE, "national hero" etc etc. I would much prefer she admitted she's a publicity whore - I'd have more respect. 2) If she is NOT terminally ill, then she has taken the attention away from numerous individuals who are, or who have been, and have done magnificent things. I hope she keeps on living & living, for numerous reasons.

MPFC, you twat, it's (her job) in the newspaper report mentioned above if you took the time to read it....

    Not Exactly Famous...

Derek Bond, British actor who was a leading man in the late 1940's & early 50's has died. Perhaps most famous for Scott of the Antarctic, where he played Captain Oates. Pics younger and older. Might ring a bell - certainly was in a fair bit until recent years.

    Political Frailty

I suggest you think again. Ulufa'alu has made a full recovery from his emergency stay in hospital and resigned his post as finance minister on Monday over the Solomon Isle's links with Australia. You can add him on for the name, but don't expect him to die.

    Mary Wilson

Clarissa Eden (or Churchill), was on TV on Monday night in the first of three-parter drama doc, "Suez". She looks extremely healthy & robust, and like Mary Wilson, I don't think she's going to die anytime soon.

Oh F**k it. I didn't pick Davidson for this either. I must be in last place by now.

    Jane Tomlinson Killer Ride

It also mentions she's returned to work. Not the normal procedure for people with terminal cancer...

    Ross Davidson

Actually, I'll own up now & say I used to watch Hollyoaks around the time Ross was in it. Likewise, EastEnders, back in the early days. Atlhough this is a DDP hit for me, and they've been rare this year, I've actually been surprised how sad and how "guilty" I feel at his death. Acting colossus? Nope. But a brave man battling 'gainst the terminal illness, he surely was. I feel glad he died smiling as he lived far beyond doctors expectations, and had a loving family at death. Ross

    Ross Davidson

Whilst I don't necessarily NOT believe you, Ross Davidson married Barbara Black last year (2005) - so Ross has not been married 10 yrs. If he has died, then I wouldn't expect instant news. However, it might be worth checking message boards & local news around Frinton, where RD lives, over the next few days.

    Quiz Show Hosts

Just sold? MPFC, you need better news sources. This is old news. This story was first reported in July and Batey is acting as a consultant. He's probably already splashing the cash.

    Incredible Research

More people are ill in the winter than the summer, whether they snuff it or not. So, the statement that hospitals need more staff in the winter is a no-brainer, MPFC. It's interesting research, but I'm not sure how useful it is.

    Political Frailty

Well, on that basis, change your maths. There's more Jews than Iraqi's waiting to exact revenge on ol' Nazi Kurt. Who, as it has been discussed already on this fora, is not a well old man. Redo your equations sonny.

    Freddy Fender

So have I, same timescale. But I don't see the need to wave it in everyone's face & say how clever I am. Look at FF - he's a fair way ahead of everyone (including you, me, Windsor etc.) in the DDP (probably the big one internationally, in terms of who you can select) in selecting deaths but his modesty & dignity as he climbs to the top, is endearing. Do calm down dear, it's only a deadpool. No-one likes a smug git. Look what happened to JFK Jr.
  25. Octopus of Odstock

    Incredible Research

I think anyone could've told you that BEFORE you started your research, saving you much time & effort.
