Ideas and possibilities for 2007
Octopus of Odstock replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList Forum
More on Parsons Well if his doctor says it's clear, that's enough for me. But then not all doctors are to be trusted... -
Indeed, TF, he was my joker for the 2007 DDP but my DDP woe is forgotten by taking points in both the Rotten Dead Pool & the Canadian Paul Dead Pool. So Fender out, my secret candidate in.

Your understanding is wrong. Following heart problems, Forsythe underwent quadruple bypass surgery in 1979. Also, Forsythe has not smoked since 1982, when he quit following advice from a physician that he was at strong risk of emphysema. As for colon cancer "Not being that serious", tell the families of these guys or this fellow or thousands & thousands others. Yep, I can imagine Forsythe was chuckling away when he got the diagnosis as it's "not that serious".

DDT, I suggest you brush up on your geography. Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea are three separate countries. Guinea-Bissau is most certainly NOT referred to as "just" Guinea. Conte is the leader of Guinea, Joao Bernando Vieria, who looks well, is the leader of Guinea-Bissau.

Schmidt still jetsetting Funny you should mention him just as I was looking for somewhere to post this article. Looks robust & frequent flying means he isn't on deaths door yet, even if he does like a cigarette or 70. Not for DL 2007, me thinks.

Or "Guinea Pigs?"

Elizabeth Taylor swims with sharks or in more detail in the Daily Mail..... Make of that what you will....

Now this guy seems to be mentioned in every DP thread going, maybe his posts could be merged here? Or, maybe this could be an African dictator thread? God knows there's enough of them........ Anyway, new news suggests Conte is in very poor health indeed. and it also looks like he can't even sign his own letters.... I say out with Algeria's leader & in with Guinea's for the DL. Apologies to DDT who is the undisputed master of news re. ill African dictators.

More Astor court stuff

I also concur, young SC. Though I also liked David Coleman's "no nonsense, tell it as it is" trademark of saying the score as a goal went in. So even if the goalkeeper had run the entire length of the pitch, beating all the opponents, flicked the ball up & scored with an overhead kick, Coleman would simply say "1-0". Those were the days.

Are you telling me that the bastion of truth that is The Sun is telling lies? Well, I never.

Vera Lynn backing local Post Offices Picture of her on the article, and the fact that she walks to her local post office every day and "get around & about" means I can't see her becoming a DL hit this year, or indeed for some years.

Also realised Hap Sharp - who was terminally ill & had other financial & personal problems. So 3.

Morph & Chas died last year in the Aardman Studio fire.

Basically, there were two parts of that statement that made me remove him as an immediate contender:- Dr. Harold Pelzer and Dr. Neil Fine of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and my personal physician, Dr. Robert Havey, also of Northwestern, assure me I will eventually walk, talk, taste, eat, drink and live, more or less, normally. But it will be a struggle, involving another surgery to complete what began in June. In other words, another surgery is planned - but not just yet. If he was on the way out, the surgery would be scheduled sooner. Also, though it will take a while, the doctors have told him he will recover from the cancer. My take on this is: Is he ill? Currently, yes Will he be able to play in pro-am tennis tournaments? No Is he going to die in the next 14 months? Unlikely. I suppose the only thing is if the surgery to come goes wrong...... But, as I say, on my own head be it. Ultimately, though, Ebert was not likely to be in my top 20 anyway before this announcement.

No, I completely disagree. I've taken him off all of my lists for 2007. Guess we'll have to see who's right, eh?

I also have a feeling that Paul Hunter has (or will) raise loads more than Tomlinson by dying. No wonder Tomlinson feels the need to get back into the public eye. After a mere 30 or so days of no publicity, she's worried about being forgotten about what with Hammond, Hunter & Healy being talking points in Leeds. I have noticed that outside Leeds, and West Yorkshire, there are very few papers that cover Jane's japes at all.

He has cancer.

So... Jane is surely on her death bed after such a gruelling ride. "All I want to do is go home & die" she wimpered. Her husband, Wank Wank famously said "Jane doesn't do all this for publicity". So we should expect Wank Wank & Jane to retire out of the public eye & spend what remaining time they have together. Not a jot of it. Jane appears on TV to promote new book and looks well... Link to BBC clip on main UK news page.. I am confident I will win my Jane Tomlinson Challenge and Jimmy Durante is here to stay.

I have no idea if he is famous or not, but it looks like Cory Lidle, a baseballer, has met a spectacular & fiery end. Plane crashes into NY skyscraper.

That crossed my mind before. I have a book which lists his agent, but that book is 11 yrs old. I suppose I could write anyway.

Atanas "Nachko" Mihailov , Bulgarian footballing legend, who also played in the 1974 World Cup, has died.

Joseph Lynch GC BEM, a very brave man who is one of the relatively few to have won a George Cross for bravery has died. Obit Won't get as many column headlines as Paul Hunter, but a fine man nonetheless.
-
In all the Paul Hunter hullaballoo this might be missed:- Joseph Lynch GC has died and here is his obituary from the Times. 5 points for Ready, Steady, Deady which puts them higher up mid-table I think.
