Terrible shame. If I'm being nitpicky, it was actually Conference North, but it hardly matters in a case like this. Ex-league player with Walsall, Mansfield & Kidderminster, and I remember him playing against my club at the Madjeski when he was with Walsall and in the play-off final at Cardiff, which Walsall won, in 2001. Was 27 only 3 days ago too.

1) it was a joke, 2) the joke was made back in July. I don't think Star Crossed is going anywhere.

Don't worry, I ain't ranting no more. Moving on, on suggestions etc. As I wasn't here this time last year, is there a kind of suggestions thread in Nov-Dec? Seems to me, rather than say, a convention, could people not be asked to say, make 50 (or however) suggestions to the DL committee and the ones that pop up the most are taken, and the rest then considered, and anyone who's not mentioned (ie Rayner or Bergman, perhaps) not considered? Between us, with our various interests, and knowledge (and it is very wideranging, even for an international fora), we'd come up with a good bunch for consideration. Or is that how it is done already?

Oh I do apologise if I'm ruining your fun, I'm sure. The list wasn't my idea, it was Phantom's. All it is is a list of the I & P suggestions - not my suggestions. I've just had the time & inclination to fill it in a bit more, which again, wasn't my idea, but Godot's who wanted more information - the original idea was to leave it as a list of names only. My DDP possibles for 2007 look quite different. It's a service if you like. If you don't want to use it, then don't. If you do, then great. I don't have to do it, and have much better things to do with my time, but I'm still willing to do it. If all I'm going to get is grief that I'm too serious, F**k it. I'll just stick to general posting & news articles. From next week, I've less time to browse anyway, so it might free up my time a little. If you note, I rarely suggest people on here & I certainly don't approach it as a professional science. I'm sorry if you think I am taking it too seriously, I can assure you that isn't the case. I admit I may not be in chat very often, or post in some of the sillier non-death related threads, but I'm not as devoted to it as say, Iain, who wanted people dead or Rotten Ali, who has numbers & ratings etc. So, I'd like it if you didn't accuse me of being something I'm not, and if I am, it was only at the behest of other DL'rs. I'm only trying to help people here, and if you don't like it, then I'm sorry. What else can I say? I won't be helpful & considerate in the future. I can get rid of the whole list in one go, if you & I want. Just delete all the names and not help out anybody for their DDP choices etc, and then the whole thread can be deleted if it helps put the fun back in your life, because I'm sure that's what the whole of the DL would like to see.

Considering we're spread out all over the world, I don't see this happening. Unless you sell your Lotus Elise & pay for us all to meet in one place. Seriously, we now have a list of - what 200-300 names? If DL can't pick 50 good 'uns from there, and from their own lists they might have, then what's the point of meeting up? Unless it's by chat etc. and personally, I think 7 out of 50 is a fair score considering this year. Even TF & FF, who lead the DL challenge in the DDP, have yet to get more than 8.
-
and on that note, I've reduced a few names on the list, who are good suggestions but more so for DL 2009-2012, so that some of the more likely to drop names are left for consideration.

and I certainly didn't see that one coming. A great shame.

Ma><ine Edgington, who made the news last year when she sang a song with Billy Bragg for her daughter has died, the BBC South (Oxford) news bulletin announced today. There's nothing online to confirm this yet, but in her last blog on her diary she announced in June 2006, that she had brain cancer, as well as breast cancer, the poor woman. EDIT BBC Obit How strange the X's are on here. If I wanted to mention XXX star Vin Diesel - the Xs are all the same or is it just for Ma><ine? Does Max Bygraves come out the same..? No! Hmm.. interesting... Like the swear filter than stops some words, but not others.

BBC South (Oxford)'s lunchtime news announced the death of Ma><ine Edgington, but there's nothing online that I can find so far. However, I expect it to pop up at some stage in the next 24 hours & when it does, I Smell Dead People R.I.P. It Up And Start Again will score points, the former scoring their first points, the latter (I think) making the top 10.

Well, I'd trust that site more than the lamentable imdb listing in one of MPFC's earliest post. IMDB is excellent if you're looking for American based roles, but shitter than the shittest sh*t for a full British biography. and that site, hastily assembled or not, is the main one devoted to the Comedians - probably a good thing too. So, it left me with little option as a result. Although as no-one else can be arsed to check, it DOES appear Collier was there. 1 However, nothing else on the internet, except equally as confused people, or e-bay listings. Many mention the Royal Variety Performance. Question now is, was Collier at that reunion because he was an ex-Comedian or was he a "special guest"?

Goodwood Revival - didn't go to it but others did - Hannu Mikola, ex-rally champ looks well but very fat and apparently, Phil Hill wasn't in brilliant shape. Wasn't frail or gaunt or anything like that, but at least two people said that the Tribute Weekend all seemed a bit too much for him come Saturday. Could be one to keep an outside eye on, but I think he'll be fine for a few years yet, unless I hear anything else to the contrary.

Whom Are You Tarring With The Epithet "twunt"?

It ebbs & flows. It used to be Meg Ryan but she's got a bit crusty lately. At the moment, I'd say it's between Anna Friel & Hayley Angel Wardle, with Gemma Atkinson not far behind. Others of honorary mention: Nicola Roberts (Girls Aloud) Alicia Silverstone Cristiana Aguilera Nicole Kidman Liz McLarnon Christina Ricci Kate Beckinsale But the Jen Connelly picture will do me. -
Shame. A very nice lady, I met her once.

Well, I'm not so sure as there's no proof of it in the death records of 1985. There's a Norah BARKER, who was born on the 21st October 1907. Proof So I doubt if this date is 100% reliable, although it could well be right. I don't doubt for a minute, however, that she is dead.
-
First cursory check of the 1944 deaths reveals there WAS a Norah Baker who died in 1944, aged 36...... but it's not OUR one. The one who died was a Norah Hildegarde Baker, of Bromley Kent, but NOT in April, may I add. A search of the 1908 births, reveals one NHB was born there. "Our" Norah Baring is Norah Kathleen Baker. This doesn't mean the 1944 info is wrong - it's just one avenue that's been explored. When I have the full time in London, I'll go through all the possibilites.

MPFC, John Barron died in 2004. His IMDB page says as such. That interview was just weeks before his death, by the way. As to your other suggestion of Bernard Archard, his last work was not "long long ago" - it was 2003. He is now retired, and living in Somerset. Again this is on the imdb page. -
I Think You Missed A Thread Titled Steve Irwin

No, that happens sometimes. I mean we had a whole thread about Mike Peters of the Alarm, but when it came to finding news that he'd recovered, the whole thread had disappeared, so I had to post the news in another general thread. and yes, I think you are the first to inform us of Mr. Redman's demise. Sterling work!

Castro says "worst is over".

Yep. www.palaceoffice.gov.to. In other news, King spends Fathers Day with family.

Giacinto Facchetti, the legendary former Italian footballer, has died from cancer, aged 64. In recent years, he was the president of Inter Milan.

Released from jail some 13 odd months early today. Does he show any humility or having learnt from experience? Does he F**k. Walks, in full view of everyone, into a stretch limousine. What a twat. Lets hope he goes stingray hunting in Australia soon. BBC report

Ideas and possibilities for 2007
Octopus of Odstock replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList Forum
No they're not. They were all born in 1924, making them 82 years of age. Either imdb is wrong (probable) or you can't count. Some good suggestions, though, but I don't think many of these will be dying just yet. -
I think the initial results were inconclusive. You must remember Salo smokes, so his lungs are probably in not as good shape as Schumi's. I've not heard much about it lately, and certainly no-one else of that era seems ill or is dead, so far.
