I Thought They Were Supposed To Be Killing Off Pluto...

Great shame. But at least Holst will no longer be spinning in his grave with everyone berating him for not including a 9th planet.

    The Living Dead

Ingmar Bergman and Dino de Laurentiis lead mine. Their place on the DL is, and continues to be a shambles. They have no intention of doing anything to merit, sustain or reduce their place on the DL. I can only hope 2007 DL strikes these two boring old farts off forever, and we have exciting new death-teasing candidates in their place.

More weep weep wankfest from the Tomlinson camp.

Err.. MPFC, Dale Evans died in 2001.

Ideas & Possibilities - The Names

Added the death of van Vlissingen - a DDT suggestion that I know Rotten Ali, at least, was looking at for DDP selection next year. Keep the suggestions coming...

    Billionaire Has Terminal Cancer

Well, iain got it wrong again. PVV didn't die in weeks, he lasted until August, but he's now dead.

    Not Exactly Famous...

Joyce Blair, sister of Lionel, and actress/entertainer in her own right, has died.

    Birthdays, Births, Anniversaries Etc...2006

Happy Birthday to both of you and to anyone elses I've missed in the last week.

    Gerald Ford

I agree in a way. I am seriously considering Ford's place in my DDP team next year with this latest news.

    Gerald Ford

Iain was right in one sense. There was a statement due immimently. Iain was wrong in the other sense. It is not to announce Ford's demise. Ford "stable" in Mayo hospital. Ford has pacemaker fitted. "President Ford comfortable & will be released in about a week." iain, just F**k off. It's not even mildly amusing now to read your posts.

CP, my issue is not whether its a near miss. My issue is whether Rosenthal is the most famous photographer ever who took THE most famous photograph. The answer is no, and no.

    Photographers

Actually looking at it again, Iain isn't saying Rosenthal is the most famous photographer in the world but the "Moisty famouos" photographer there's ever been, and who would we be to disagree? On a serious note, and a further one, re. Rosenthal's fame, how many people do you hear going, "who do you think you are, Joe Rosenthal?". I rest my case.

    Gerald Ford

How strange that you, a UK student, should have the scoop to all these sightings, rumours, hearses, funeral plans & deaths, over the entire press corps of the world.
  14. Octopus of Odstock

    Photographers

Ok, I dare. I've never heard of him - he certainly isn't the most famous photographer ever & his photo, whilst iconic, certainly isn't the most famous picture ever. (If I had to choose one, I'd plump for the picture of the Earth from the moon, but that's another matter) So, what are you going to do about it, Idiain?

    The Kings Of Tonga

King "much better" and "meets with PM" but "has weeks left at most".

    Near misses 2006

Oscar Miguez, one of only two surviving players from the Uruguayan 1950 World Cup final winning team has died, aged 78. He also has the dubious honour, I believe, of being the first World Cup player of yesteryear to die after this summer's World Cup.

    The Kings Of Tonga

You got Michael Foot, Bobby Robson, Ariel Sharon, Fidel Castro, Patrick Moore, Jack Nicholson, Gerald Ford, Charlton Heston, LadyBird Johnson & Tariq Aziz wrong, you dullwitted prick. hahahahahahahahaha

    Bobby Robson has brain tumour.

    Football

1 Premiership match gone, 1 win Regards DL, Jack Taylor, the former World Cup Final (1974) referee was at the game. If you ever thought about him for a DL team in 2007, don't. Looked dapper & very well.

    Not Exactly Famous...

I'll openly admit I have no idea who is this person is, but according to the obituary, he was a regular on British TV only a few years back. I'd be interested to know if anyone here has heard of him as he's committed suicide: Timothy Hadcock-Mackay. Obit Profile

    The Chequered Flag

Nannini isn't racing any more. He might test one of the GPM cars for fun, but he isn't racing. He won't fit in the cockpit for one, and his diet of ciggies, wine and cake will also not help his chances. As to his arm, it wasn't completey severed. He can still use it, but obviously not to drive. He shook hands with me with his left hand (his right being the one severed), but signed autographs with his right one. I guess the best way I can compare it is with Jeremy Beadle - he can use his withered hand, but not to the fullest extent. and it is still his hand, by the way, no Luke Skywalker jobby there. Had that accident been 10 years later, maybe it would've been, a la Zanardi & his legs. Don't forget Nannini had a long (and successful) career in touring & sportscars after that accident. As long as he had a custom gearbox, he was fine.

    The Chequered Flag

Just FYI, Cristiano da Matta is continuing to improve & is now out of ICU. How long or what steps his recovery are going to take are still uncertain, but he's not in any danger of losing his life, let's put it like that.

    The Kings Of Tonga

Tongan King remains "critical" but has "comfortable" night. He's still hanging in there, but surely, not for much longer. I would imagine he'll be dead by Sunday, at least.

    Sir Patrick Moore

I have noticed that Borley is often online at the same time as one of our more illustrious members..
