Well, she appears to be dead as the Guinness World Record site has taken her off after being informed from a individual source (ie not Wikipedia). I don't doubt for one minute she IS dead, but I am kinda flabbergasted that it isn't even mentioned, not even in passing, in her local paper.

So, now down to 8.
-
Still no news reported anywhere of her death........ ....so if Lady Die hadn't seen it, Tempus hadn't scanned it and CP hadn't put it on Wikipedia, would anyone online actually know about it? It's made me think again about some of my choices & their "notability".

He was on my DDP consideration, I knew he was very ill, yet.. I didn't choose him. I think my thinking was he'll live a few more years yet with the disease, but looking at the news report on the BBC, Jinky had probably lasted as long as could be expected with such a disease. Great Shame.

WW1 vets are down to 77 now. One of the more notable ones has died - Frank Steer, who was the highest-ranked survivor, died last week. No online obit, but the information comes from the same man who verifies the longetivity for the world records, so I'd say it was accurate. Profile of him below. On television last night, in a new show, and he looked the very picture of health. He'll be okay for a good while yet.

Octopus of Odstock replied to Cowboy Ronnie's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
and like I said before, Massa is far a bigger danger than Ide. That was proved today. -
Nothing concrete to add at all bar from how surprised I am, despite rumours of illness & suicide attempts and most of all, good riddance. I know a few Serbs, they were delighted when he went in 2000, I'd imagine they'd be estatic, yet cheated, with this.

As the Guiness records doesn't list another UK supercentarian in its midst, I wonder if the amazing Henry Allingham is now the oldest person in the UK?
-
What I found even more perplexing about Ingamell's death is not only did no-one report it nationally, but neither did the Enfield Independent. In every other town, the death of an centenarian is normally good staple for an article in a local paper - but obviously there seems to be more important news in Enfield today.

Latest: Patrick Moore doing well
-
Not only doing well after surgery but off to Chile as well.

If he had lasted a the extra three days, would you have had him on your 2004 DDP? I did, actually. Obviously had to put a replacement in. There is one person on the DDP who is on there for precisely the same reasons as Monkhouse would've been, but has responded better to treatment. They're on my DDP list this year.

Oh, in all this excitement, I appear to have promoted to a Shipman! Woo hoo
-
What's a moiderator? Sounds like that guy in Hart to Hart - Lionel Stander, IIRC. "another moider case" You want me banned simply as I don't think Jack Nicholson is going to die?!
-
Punk? You just seem obessed today with celebrities & lung cancer, that's all...
-
W90, I wouldn't worry -he's whinging about serious possibilites & then goes to suggest Jack Nicholson..... I find what you found quite interesting, IMO.
-
Oh, FFS Jack Nicholson at the Oscars on Sunday: http://news.yahoo.com/photo/060303/photos_...HYzBHNlYwN0bXA- Looks fine to me. The shades are because he's a celebrity, I suppose. What is it with you and lung cancer?
-
Joan Fontaine - an "obscure nobody"? She was one of the top actresses in the 1940's, FFS. Most of us come on deathlist to discuss possibilties for DDP & DL, that's the whole point. This is not a place simply to report deaths. There are other sites for that.

err..... whatever... unlike you I don't want people dead all the time. If no-one famous has died, then don't post. I'd rather wait for 10 days for a posting in near misses to tell me of a relatively notable person then get a wiki link posting to someone who isn't notable, or in Peter Klein's case, not even dead! We keep giving you a hard time as you don't listen. 1) Wikipedia is unreliable. Look at all the fake deaths. 2) Wikipedia gets all its death reports from a news site. They've even added citation needed as back-up. 3) Most of us read Wiki Recent Deaths. You're like a bloody parrot repeating everything sometimes. You never seem to respond to any constructive criticism, you exergarrate people's conditions (ie Patrick Moore today), or do a search. That's about the sum of it from my point of view.

If this is true, which I doubt, which Doctor did you speak to? There is such a thing as patient confidentiality and whoever told you would (or should) be sacked immediately - I used to work in the NHS, so I know. I knew Bob Monkhouse was dying, but wasn't allowed to tell anyone, not even my family. Besides if it is true, they wouldn't bother to fit a pacemaker would they?!

I can't remember Tony Martin's performace as Rose in Titanic Ernest Borgnine was 89 in January. He is not over 90
-
No she isn't - two teams picked her.
-
In fact, Peter Klein's "death" has now been removed from Wikipedia, probably as he didn't die in the first place. FFS, Iain, don't you double check ANYTHING????
-
You may be right, or not, but what is your source? Otherwise, it just looks like you are making stuff up. His agent says he'll be released hopefully on Thursday. That's been put on numerous news sites. I've still not seen signs to the contrary.
