One of the founding members of "The Wurzels", Reg Quantrill, has died - http://uk.omg.yahoo.com/gossip/110--pop/wurzels-original-member-reg-quantrill-dies-104600602.html - he left the group before their "Combine Harvester" hit
-
No, it was released on the day, 12 days ago as seen here- http://www.spin.com/articles/unsung-guitar-genius-pete-cosey-dead-68 Obviously it's such a slow news weekend, they are trying to find something to fill the papers. Either that, or the news feed you have is nearly two weeks slow.

Looking at the funeral coverage in Thame of Robin's funeral shows that Barbara Gibb, mother of the Bee Gees, is wheelchair bound and looking pretty frail. Hardly surprising as this is now the third child of the five that she had, that she's now had to bury.

Is that not Elton John rather than Bardet?

"Old man dies whilst having sex" is not such an amazing thing, but I love this news report which mentions "What Killed Pappy? The style that young woman played", "he died whilst jerking off" and "crowds trooped before a hotel" to see his corpse as if this is as serious as the meltdown of the world's financial institutions - http://allafrica.com/stories/201206081177.html

One of the two other men sentenced to death at the same time as Aziz has been executed - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-18356722 - the article doesn't stipulate whether that'll hasten or hinder Aziz's own demise.

Paul Pietsch, the last surviving pre-war Grand Prix driver, the oldest (until recently) Grand Prix driver, the first Grand Prix driver to reach 100 years of age and a DDP pick for 2 teams, has died, aged 100 - http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/news/paul-pietsch-gestorben-der-gruender-der-motor-presse-ist-tot-5034459.html. But I'm not sure if he'll get an obit - he's been dead a week, but also as Roy Salvadori now has a full obit in the Telegraph, it might need an Independent "Motor racing special" of Salvo, Burgess, Leston and Pietsch for it to be recognised in the UK press. All the proper obits are in German right now.

Ornette keeps going strong but Andy Hamilton, a DDP pick in 2007, has died - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-18317513

Valid UK obit (I thinkl) for DDP Purposes for Salvadori - http://uk.reuters.com/article/2012/06/03/motor-racing-salvadori-idUKL3E8H30A120120603

they have been reunited allready ! http://www.motorspor...n_12060302.html Well, well, my first unique hit since January, but it comes with a heavy heart, a great racer, one of the best to never win a championship Grand Prix. Then again, if I don't choose people who are ill, when I have inside information, then there's no point being on the DDP
-
Google their name in brackets i.e. "Les Leston" and select "pages from the UK" on the left hand side.
-
Bhumibol. Too ill too make the recent gathering of Royal leaders for the Queen's Jubilee.
-
Good thing the DDP doesn't have relegation.

Two more racing passings lately - Gerard Pillon, who raced sportscars and in F2, was killed in a road accident, aged 75, last Saturday, whilst Ian Burgess, who started 16 Grand Prix's in the late 1950's and early 1960's died this morning, aged 81.

imdb says 1953, Portland, Jamaica, making her 59 this year.
-
The Kennedy "curse" continues - Mary Kennedy, estranged wife of Robert F Kennedy Jr, has been found dead, aged 52, in a probable suicide - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-18098823

Les Leston, former Grand Prix racing driver, turned racewear accessory kingpin and a former DDP pick by my good self, has died after a long illness - http://www.classicandperformancecar.com/news/octanenews/283282/les_leston_19202012.html - not a good year for the drivers of the 1950's, that's the 5th this year.
-
I was hoping that he'd hang on until 2013. I learnt he was very ill in January. His buddy and co-driver Roy Salvadori, is 90, today and also in ill-health, but as per usual for DDP purposes, I've probably chosen the wrong chap. RIP to a true legend. Top bloke

Well, they're both doing better than the former Cook Islands PM, Sir Geoffrey Henry, http://www.stuff.co.nz/world/south-pacific/6894188/Former-Cook-Islands-PM-dies, who has died after a fight against cancer.
-
Bit surprised Notwaguest hasn't already reported this but maybe because it's not right on the top of the Deaths in 2012 page and it's too difficult for him to scroll down 6 days but Ted Short is no longer the oldest ex-MP - http://www.lep.co.uk/news/former-minister-lord-glenamara-dies-1-4530958 A hit for 9 teams on the DDP.

Wigan Athletic and Ireland footballer James McCarthy's father has cancer - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17982691 -
No, he hasn't, you dumbf**k. Gomer Pyle was played by Jim Nabors, who isn't well, but is alive. George Lindsay, who is now deceased, played his cousin, Goober. Excuse me for not being the worlds greatest expert on the Andy Griffith show. Are you this rude to people in real life, or just the internet? Only to trolls and people who can't be bothered to check things before they speak/post.

Rashidi Yekini, who played in Nigeria's 1994 and 1998 World Cup squads, and who scored their first goal in the World Cup, has died, aged only 48 - http://www.thetimeso...le.aspx?id=3652. Bit of a tragic tale all round, really.

Another report pretty much confirming the National Enquirer - http://www.contactmu...-cancer_1323833 - in his own words "yearly magazine subscriptions" are not a good idea...
