Patricia Medina, Anglo-Spanish actress who had a decent career in the mid 1950's, and who also married fellow actor Joseph Cotton, has died, aged 92. http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118053382?refCatId=13. Did consider her for my DDP list, but could never really find tangible health news about her. Sorry to see her go - I liked her efforts in "The Jackpot", especially as she was easy on the eye.

Rumours abound that the long-serving Isias Afewerki, Eritrean President is "dead" as he hasn't been seen in public for a while - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-17875943. Using that rule, most of the remaining members of "It Ain't Half Hot Mum" must be deceased too. -
I think the best game I remember is the Everton-Liverpool 4-4 FA Cup tie c. 1991, but that wasn't actually live, but left you shagged out just watching it. In terms of live games, the Coventry City vs Tottenham Hotspur 1987 F.A. Cup final instantly stands out. My personal favourite live match was Reading 6-0 West Ham Utd back in 2007, but that's just biased talk. I don't know if DDT remembers it, but I seem to remember a 6-4 win over Exeter back in the early 90's. If watching Ceefax for score updates counts as watching a game "live" in the pre-Sky Sports days, then that's up there too.

This thread could be open for some years yet, considering both have recovered. You might as well add Hannah Montana to go before these two.

Wales winning the rugby 6 Nations Grand Slam would normally sound alarm bells for Pope Benedict, but it seems Pope Shenouda was the one to suffer the dreaded fate. http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/oddballs/896747-wales-grand-slam-link-to-pope-deaths-backed-by-new-evidence But with Wales still being very good indeed, maybe next year?

I know it's only Notaguest making up news, but I would be worried if my doctors wanted to turn off the life support machine whilst I was awake, and out of the coma. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/bee-gee-robin-gibb-showing-801730

I agree young James - as someone who well remembers Aspinall, I would never had recognised him had you shown the video without any intro. Also quite aged in the last few years too, as he didn't look all that old when he finished his career.

Hope to see Chester in the Premier soon, we got there tonight and now Match of the Day is worth watching again and best of all, I don't have to watch the god-awful Football League show. Come on you Royals!

...and me. If he survives this year, which I think quite likely, I doubt he'll even be on my longlist any more, let alone short-list.

This seems about as good a thread as any on here to report the death of the composer of Uganda's national anthem, George WIlberforce Kakoma, who more than likely had dealings with Mr Amin and Mr Obote. http://www.monitor.co.ug/News/National/-/688334/1382778/-/aw5uedz/-/

He's not dead - yet - but he IS in ICU after a cardiac arrest - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-17628591 -
I felt Carter wouldn't get a UK obit so he never really made the final cut. The 5 that missed out were Geoffrey Hughes, Reg Pressley, President Sanha of G-Bissau, Adolfo Suarez and James Garner. Sanha was a stupid miss really, but I read that he was "recovering". Hughes is making a recovery from cancer, Pressley seemed over the worst of his immediate illness, Suarez for no other reason that I had 20 people already in there. The likes of Stynes et. al, I just thought they wouldn't get an obit either. That's why I'm in mid-table.

John Nott was on ITV News recently talking about the Falkland's War. He looks very well, alert and hearty, and I would imagine he'll make it to 90 at least*** *** = Meaning he'll probably die in a segway related accident tomorrow.
