    Not Exactly Famous...

I only caught the last part of the crawler on CNN saying that someone had died at the age of 95 from Alzheimer's Anyone any idea who it was that died. I've checked other sites and can't find anything reported just yet

    Anonymous In Life...

Too bad it wasn't strangulation then she would have better appreciated the torture she put her daughter through. For once, I actually agree with you BC! Will you still agree when you've read this? Federal authorities confirmed Wednesday that an arrest has been made in the unsolved 1996 slaying of JonBenet Ramsey. Federal law enforcement sources said a suspect is in custody in Bangkok, Thailand, where he's being held on unrelated sex charges I'm still a bit dubious about the recent arrest. I still in some way believe that the parents had something to do with it. It's just the whole thing with the rather lengthy ransom note that was left at the scene of the crime. Unless they are able to match the handwriting then I'll be proven wrong. But what killer sits down to pen a long winded ransom note, unless it was written well in advance while the family is asleep upstairs?
  4. Iain, Perhaps you should have checked the websites, his death was posted on Wikipedia a good few hours ago and was also on the BBC as "breaking news"
  5. Nice try Iain, you're just 2 1/2 hours late. He's already dead

    Alfredo Stroessner

what about Michael Foot? Probably sticking my head on the block here, but I think the only two that are the most likely are Sharon and Castro. Ford possibly a bit shaky and may have another stroke or just a heart attack. Pinochet although a bit frail, I reckon he's still got a year or two to go.

Ditto OoO and agreed about Biggs and Davidson. More so with Biggs as that means my #2 pick on my DP sweepstake would have died after my #1 pick, and if Brooke Astor was to follow closely behind the all 3 would have died in that order
  8. You had some sort of inside information you cheating basterd. But anyway there is the answer. Nah, I made my guess a good 6 hours ago I wish I had inside info, then I would have put him and any of my DPs for this year

    Brooke Astor

It could be very overated as well. A few years after she's dead. It will be based on her horrible marriages and will probably zoom to her later life. Sleeping on a couch and not being treated properly.. I could imagine not all of her 104 years were something to remember. I wonder how many of her 104 years so far she actually can remember
  10. I felt something, but I thought that was just the way I was sitting
  11. I've found people aren't so cooperative when you ask them to die because you desperately need the points

That was quick, when I glanced at it, it just said "More Soon" at the end and there was no article linked to the crawler report

He's just died, it was on the BBC website crawler
  14. It's just appeared on the BBC crawler, Stroessner has died
  15. I don't have any of them on any of my lists, so if any of them die, it will make it easier for me next year and make my shortlist even shorter

Shock! Horror! You are at work??!!??!! well, I'm occupying my desk. I've only got a small amount of work to do today anyway. It's only 8am here at the moment. Ditto. My boss is on holiday. My boss is 30 miles away in another building, I see him about once a month

Couldn't you just pop round there & try to find out what's going on? I could try, I don't think they'll let me in though. Let me finish work for that day first I have a feeling security will be fairly tight around the hospital though. When Jimmy Carter came to town the other week to help his son's campaign, I got stuck behind the police escort.

    Art Buchwald

I switched Buchwald out for Felt. The way I see it, though Felt is supposedly still lucid, if Buchwald dies tomorrow, I'll still get points on the WDP. If Felt dies tomorrow, it'd be a silly miss not to have him somewhere. The way I see it, Mark Felt doesn't have that much time left on earth. A few months ago they said he was frail and his faimly went on saying all the bullshit in which how every day is special with him. Once you know that you know death isn't far from happening. Time right now is the only enemy. Hopefully he can be spaired untill 2007. Mark Felt has been "close to death" for the past 2-3 years. I have a feeling a lot of it is exaggerated just so his family can make as much money as they can before he does finally die
  22. How about this one? Thanks Lady Die Looks like a good one, Cliff Godwin did a good biography about Tony Hancock. I'll have to wait till payday so I can order it
  23. It's a debate that will go on for quite a while, going back and forth. I wonder if they're going to do another interview with the woman who named Pluto originally. She's getting on a bit, might get a fleeting mention in the papers. Actually I forget her name but there was an article on the BBC site earlier in the year.
  24. Was never really obsessed with death, I used to watch the news and see the reports when a famous actor / musician etc died. Then I would search the bookstores for a decent biography. It doesn't really make better reading when the person is still alive, although I am enjoying Julian Cope's autobiography at the moment. But I'm on the search for a decent biography about Sid James.

    Near misses 2006

Who? I've heard of Johnny Duncan (well heard the name anyway), couldn't really sing you any of his songs though. Which is probably a good thing, my singing sounds like a cat being tortured and in the last moments of death. Not being a county music fan, although I don't mind Johnny Cash or Merle Haggard. I think I've heard more country music in the past weeks than I have in my entire life, just by listening to Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour. As for Bruno Kirby, I know he's quite well known, but the only movie I've seen with him in has been Spinal Tap (I had to look at IMDB to see what he's been in) fell asleep through most of Sleepers, so that doesn't really count.
