I think simply as it was more recent & seen by more people. To put in another context, if you said to the average person on the street "What do you think of Claude Raines?", they'll look at you as if you've just farted in their face. Say to them, "do you remember the old bat in the film Titanic?", they will be more likely to remember.... OoO, I understand how you mean, to be honest I've seen Titanic (had to take the gf to see it) and didn't even know it was Gloria Stuart.

LONG LIVE EMINEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always thought Eminem was overrated

Why is everyone going on about the brief role she played in Titanic? I always thought she was best in "The Invisible Man" where she co-starred with Claude Raines

With your high standards about post quality, I can't help but note this rare miss. Now that's what they call a Post Whore. ..... and some people accuse me of being a post whore

He's not 33 now and he still occasionally sings the song "Out of the Blue" The irony is, that he's about to release a new album I'll amend my signature to add the "TO" bit
-
No really familiar with him, seen his name listed on the credits for a couple of movies but certainly couldn't point him out in a line-up

I was hoping that Biggs would have died this weekend, as yesterday was the 42nd anniversary of when he was initially sentenced to prison

It is near the end of the school year. The teacher has turned in grades and there is really nothing more to do. All the children are restless because of this. The teacher says, "Whoever answers the questions I ask first and correctly can leave early today." Little Johnny says to himself "Good, I want to get outta here. I'm smart and will answer the question." The teacher asked, "Who said 'Four Score and Seven Years Ago'?" Before Johnny could open his mouth, Susie said, "Abraham Lincoln." The teacher said "That's right Susie, you can go home." Johnny was MAD that Susie had answered the question first. The teacher asked another question, "Who said 'I Have a Dream'?" Before Johnny could open his mouth, Mary said, "Martin Luther King". The teacher said, "That's right Mary, you can go." Johnny was even madder than before. The teacher asked, "Who said 'Ask not, what your country can do for you'?" Before Johnny could open his mouth, Nancy said, "John F. Kennedy". The teacher said, "That's right Nancy, you may also leave." Johnny was BOILING mad that he had not been able to answer to any of the questions. Then the teacher turned her back and Johnny said, "I wish these bitches would keep their mouths shut!" The teacher turned around and asked, "WHO SAID THAT?" Johnny said, "BILL CLINTON, CAN I GO NOW?"

The old priest is trying to show the new priest how to handle confessionals. After explaining the drill, he allows the younster to "sit in" for a while to get the hang of it. Finally the day comes when the new lad is allowed to handle the confessions on his own and he manages to give out suitable pennances to a few sinners but is not sure how to handle a man who comes in to confess he's stolen a load of scotch. Leaving the man to ponder his sin, the priest nips out for advice from his more experienced colleague, "What should I give for a case of stolen whiskey?", he asks, and the old priest replies "I usually offer twenty quid"

I've never heard of him, but I suspect my brother-in-law has, as he'd sit there for hours and hours watching World Series of Poker on tv. One time as I had no electricity following a particulary bad storm, I gave my father-in-law a video tape in order for him to record a couple of documentaries for me. Somehow my brother-in-law got hold of it and taped over the documentary with WSoP. It was the most boring thing ever! About as exciting as watching the synchronized handwaving and toe-wiggling event at the olympics

But Iain's heard of everyone!!

Hmmm... I was under a different impression, but you are the mod so I guess you know best. But what about people who are clearly famous enough (like say, Tom Hanks) but who no one thinks is a good candidate, so no one brings them up before they say, die in a freak accident? They'd be famous enough, but not a near miss... I'm so confused. We either need one thread for this stuff or more threads... I can't figure out which. I usually just guess

They were planning for the Queen Mum's funeral for well over 10 years. look at how long she survived

My ex-Modern Studies teacher claimed to be the 5th Beatle. Although he was not part of the band he was very close to the band in their early days. He went to school with one of them. Needless to say, they became millionaires and he bacame a modern studies teacher - obviously didn't think that much of him... No, I'm the fifth Beatle Pete Best probably considers himself the 5th Beatle. If not him, I guess Stewart Sutcliff would be. Or perhaps the 5th Beatle hasn't been recognized just yet? Will the real 5th Beatle, please step forward!! If it's Heather McCuntney will that make it 4 1/2 Beatles? is that because she can't step forward, she has to hop? Paul McCartney bought his wife Heather a plane for her birthday, and for her other leg he bought her a ladyshave

I must be using it wrong, I can't get the wretched thing to work

Someone does not know to use the Search key before creating new threads [Threads merged - ff] FF, I think sometimes people use the search option at the top of the site which doesn't seem to work, as opposed to the one at the bottom, which does

I was always taught, "where there's a will, there's a legacy"

I hope he makes it through - Would be a shame if he went. His sisters should croak though - Heartless bitches. He needs to stay around at least for another 8 more months. I'd be gutted if another one that I bumped off my list for this year and have pencilled in for next year croaked. He'd be the 4th one I've missed out on this year
-
He's already been mentioned in the Not exactly famous thread

David "Young Buck" Brown stands a good chance of getting shot at some point in the near future. I heard a couple of days ago that they're reopening the case on Biggie Smalls (Notorious B.I.G) I always thought Biggie Smalls was just the name of a place where fat people bought their underwear

she seems quite healthy in that photo. At Profumo's funeral she looked really tired and it seemed that something was bothering her. But seeing her more or less striding away quite confidently makes me want to rethink even putting her on next years list. But dare I make the same mistake I did with Denis and drop her from my list.

What was DeathList's best death ever?
Phantom replied to Banshees Scream's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
not sure exactly what's meant by best death ever Although I would have thought Milton Berle and Dudley Moore would have been a good one, both died on March 27th 2002.
