    Candye Kane

No longer the toughest girl alive Here she is with "Come Out Swingin'" I will miss her. had a couple of nice chats with her. And after all the times I've helped out with Rosie Flores and Kim Lenz, Candye asked if I run her merch table next time she planned on coming to Minneapolis. Sadly that won't happen now.

She had a "severe chest infection": http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/04/28/glenn-close-forced-to-cancel-shows-after-being-hospitalised-by-c/ imagine if she and Michael Douglas died in the same year. Fatal attractions would live up to its name. Imagine if they had a pet rabbit that died too. hey wtf those are my likes don't steal then by making unfunnier versions of my jokes. Well I thought it was funny.

Aeropostale to close 113 stores in the United States, in addition to its 41 stories in Canada, as it seeks to "achieve long-term financial stability."

    Political Frailty

Republican congresswoman Elizabeth Scott (39th District - Washington) has suspended her campaign for re-election for health reasons Unfortunately the email she sent out earlier gives no indication of how serious the health issue is.
  14. He likes the Rasmussen poll, which puts him 2% ahead of Hillary. And I believe the margin of error is somewhere between 2-3%
  15. How about "President Trump meets London Mayor Sadiq Khan after Khan refused entry to the US" Well Trump COULD be banned from entering the UK so where should they meet? I very much doubt they'll ban him. They could always meet him in his cell after he's convicted of genocide

Authors Last A Long Time, But....

Are Beverly Cleary's works popular in the UK? I think they are mostly an American thing, meaning the committee likely hasn't heard of her. She would get an obit, but her books aren't very popular in the UK

    By-Election Bingo

Likewise Zac Goldsmith, the Conservative candidate who is MP for Richmond Park. Sadiq Khan is MP for Tooting. While Boris has done the last year of his mayorship while also being an MP, I can't see either of them doing the same thing until 2020 so a by-election is virtually guaranteed. There is vested interest in the outcome, by my calculations 3 people (Rockhopper, The Engineer, VoYM) have Khan, while no less than 8 people (Deathray, Handrejka, msc, time, Maryport, Dead Cow, Manuel and myself) have Goldsmith. Not sure why there is such a difference, maybe because after the 2015 general election Goldsmith was the only serious challenger for the Conservative nomination for mayor while Labour had Tessa Jowell, Sadiq Khan and David Lammy to name but three..? Will the Voice of Young Maryport come out on top in the Maryport household once again? I had forgotten about the forthcoming Mayoral election when I compiled my list, and mailed in my vote last week. I can't see Goldsmith winning.

    Prince

I thought she was lashing out at Arsenio Hall because he was speculating how long it will take for the first posthumous releases. 7 hours and 13 days, So local radio stations are going to blare out the song in Prince's honour. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/prince-nothing-compares-2-u-radio-simulcast/ To be fair regarding the posthumous releases - there's about 100 albums' worth of high-quality recording and the value of recorded music is still bumping along the bottom as the generations used to paying for it still bother. Crass as it may seem, if I was managing Prince's catalogue I wouldn't exactly hang around now. They're gonna milk that cash cow for as long as they can.

    By-Election Bingo

Not sure if anyone has Sadiq Khan on their lists, but there could be change within the Labour camp if the predictions are correct and he's elected London Mayor.
