Just listened to her on Radio 4.She is completely there mentally and was pretty blunt and humorous about her ordeal. She said she doesn't`t know how long she has left which is the hardest part for her. She sounded much older than 68 though.

I have to confess to feeling slightly sorry for Cecil.Not because of his actions ,which were abysmal but when you look at the fact that his career was ruined for having consensual sex with a grown woman when many of his counterparts in the limelight (Jimmy Savile etc) were shagging kids and getting away with it all their lives I can`t help but think his indiscretions seem minimal.I do feel sorry for his illegitimate daughter far more than him but apparently his wife gave him an ultimatum:Her or the love child.So he was a condemned man whatever he did.Not excusing him at all though he brought upon his own downfall.Just seems slightly ironic with hindsight that he was vilified when others did a hell of a lot worse.The tories were often ones that would preach family values, so it was hypocritical that Parkinson was having an affair with his secretary. Not only that, it's am abuse of his position as her boss. On the first count absolutely.Especially when you consider some of his party election broadcasts which referred to such values.On the second count though although he was in a position of power Sara Keys was in her 30`s so was more than capable of fully consenting to the affair.It takes two to tango in such a situation.He was still awful to her and their daughter though don`t get me wrong he was still a shit.True. She needs to hold some responsibility although very few cases of sexual harassment cases during that time would have been taken seriously. It would have been a case of a leading Cabinet Minister's word to that of a silly secretary. True true.I cant help but think though that if that were the case she would have outed him for it .Then again I would think if that were the case she would have probably kept quiet for the daughters sake.In her interviews though Keys has always come across as someone who merely fell in love with Parkinson so I reckon he was just stringing her along as opposed to abusing her.All of course speculation though. From what I've read about it was that he promised to leave his wife for her. When she got pregnant, he changed his tune offering her hush money and even offered to pay for an abortion. That's when it all hit the fan Sounds the cliché line of a philanderer to me so sounds about right. Well I got my DDP points for him which is the main thing

This situation is difficult. I know she has a husband so I can`t help but wonder how I would react in his situation i.e your wife who you love dearly wants to tweet but only possesses the capacity to write almost unintelligible sentences and although a few years earlier would most likely as a writer who is presumably erudite, never want such drivel to be ascribed to her in hindsight, do you let her tweet nonsense or try to shield her from social media for the sake of her own legacy and privacy? I mean there is no simple answer to this. Clearly Diski would probably never have tweeted such nonsensical ramblings were she of sound mind but does that give a significant other the right to behave in a controlling manner so as to not cause them potential ridicule? I really don`t have an answer for this so won`t argue back as I can see it from both perspectives. On a personal level I would probably opt for censorship of my wife`s social media accounts if she lost her mental faculties as an illness should be private. If one can`t make the decision to share information in sound mind I question whether they should do so at all. I tell you what though this problem is a time bomb.More and more people due to illness and /or senility will lose their ability to communicate cogently online and will start writing demented bollocks online and surely there comes a time where the next of kin wants to protect their privacy?

I wouldn't be surprised if it were true her health had gotten worse, but that photo might not even be her, or could be Photoshopped or something. Remember when they had a photo of Mary Tyler Moore from 2013 with her that looked like she was in a wind tunnel or something? Mary didn't look nearly as unhealthy or senile as in that photo when she appeared on Hot in Cleveland that same year and did an interview. True but it was a public appearance and she tends to look good in public also what is telling is her cheeks.You can see the cheekbones which is never a good sign.

I do kind of feel sorry for Jimmy Carter. I mean yeah the guy is in remission and he still has his wife but to lose your grandson just after going into remission losing all your younger siblings before 65 and also losing friends and relatives like June and Johnny must be horrible in a sense that you have outlived nearly all your generation. I guess that is just the price one pays for getting old.

I wouldn't be surprised if everyone except Engel were dead by 2026. "Sad Last Days" obviously an exaggeration. I would say that seems fairly likely they all don`t seem they will last 10 years .What I find telling about this snippet above is Dick`s body language .He clearly was holding back from saying more.I see no reason why he would lie and if he did her camp surely would have denied this publicly to avoid further speculation about her "sad last days".Also Larry King is known to have pretty good knowledge of what is going on with people in showbiz and he wouldn`t have asked Dick the question if he didn`t already have it on good authority that she was in a bad way.Betty White also a couple of years ago said how bad she was and even Valerie Harper who is the most rose tinted person out there arguably conceded about a year ago that she was pretty much blind but the media were exaggerating how ill she was.She said she was "ok" overall but in the greatest of respect given her own issues "ok" probably means alive. With regards to whether "the sad last days" headlines are accurate who knows but the fact she no longer appears in public and even her friends are conceding she is in terrible shape with Dick even mentioning her as "non-communicative" leads me to think that the Alzheimers claims may be spot on.
