He has vascular dementia and Alzheimers according to this. The combination of the two makes a swift decline almost inevitable.
-
No surprises there really.
-
Howard Marks or Antony Booth would also be good ideas as well as Leslie Phillips maybe?
-
Put him near the bottom of the list in case there is a recurrence.Plus the history of pancreatic cancer in his family means there is a chance that will too develop one day.His age and notability alone probably justify his inclusion on next years list anyway just not at the top of the list.Utterly surprised but happy to hear this.A really decent man whatever you think of his politics.

The dementia was a hoax I think. He is still seen out and about recently and looks reasonably ok.He did have problems with his throat years ago which was rumoured to be cancer.I think he has also had heart surgery

Looks like Holly Woodlawn almost certainly won`t be seeing 2016.Probably the last big death in my death by numbers: https://www.gofundme.com/BringHollyHome "Holly is in the final stage of life . She is in no pain. She is in the one best and most comfortable facilities in LA. not in the hovel she was living in before, She has been cared for by the best doctors and she is being cared for by professional hospice nurses. Everything that could be done for Holly has been done . With your help and Robert Starr's hard work Holly has lived an extra 6 months and has had the opportunity to consider her own mortality and end of life wishes. Holly stopped eating 4 days ago . She is in her end of life journey. There are drama queens trying to create discord. Holly has not of this moment died. The doctors cannot estimate it could be tonight it could be in a week. I will update as soon as i know any news as i always do."

Found this article from his wife in January this year:http://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/health-family/i-am-learning-to-count-my-blessings-steph-booth-married-to-alzheimers-1.2041148 Here is the key quote:" because this(2014) may well be our last Christmas together. Tony’s heart failure is such that nothing more in medical terms can be done for him"

I just thought that maybe this might be more serious than we are thinking. When he was admitted to hospital this time it was for "respiratory problems" as opposed to his hospitalization for a lung infection last year.If it was another infection or a recurrence of the old one surely that would have been state?"Respiratory problems" in this context could mean COPD or respiratory failure possibly resulting from age or damage from the previous lung infection.Of course now I have said this he will probably break the world record for holding your breath under water tomorrow

Had some horrible news late last night .A friend of mine from school took his own life aged just 20.We were never terribly close but hanged out in the same crowd for years so it feels terribly close to home.Especially due to his age and the fact no one from the group knew he was suffering. He also used to sit with me and laugh in class we were well acquainted and got on well even though we wheren`t close friends.Just a horrible shock I guess especially when it is a nice guy no one had a bad word to say about:(

Well stable means not in current danger but the fact he is 99 and a half and has been in hospital numerous times for infections certainly puts this into perspective. He he has also had heart trouble meaning that he is at higher risk of heart failure owing to the infecion.I would say it could go either way but based on his age it is certainly dangerous.

Just about as he is a talent manager of a big star.Yes he would not be so well known if he wasn`t married to her but I think that is besides the point.

Has a show on BBC1 about his life right now if anyone is bored.Features him playing a game of chess with the grim reaper.Interesting watch.

Betty Driver Memorial Soapstar Superstar Thread

Given Eileen Derbyshire has played this role for over 50 years with very few breaks I'd see this as a cause for adding her to your list next year, 6 months was also the amount of time given off to Anne Kirkbride. Given Derbyshire's age and long-running history with the show I'd be very surprised if this wasn't for medical reasons. The other possibility is she's got so sick of the current numbskull producers style that she's waiting for the competent person to get bedded in before returning. I agree. If she was ill she would not publicly disclose it as she is a very private person even more so than Kirkbride.I know her husband is still alive so maybe he is ill.It seems odd her taking time off after so many years. -
Was going to send mine over now but decided to wait until December 31st as things can change quickly in this game and you will have enough work to do without dealing with substitutes.
-
Definitely worth a shot.If she suffers any further heart problems she is probably going to be to old for surgery .Also she has a slow growing tumour on her kidney and likewise if that worsens treatment options would no doubt be limited. Plus she has stopped writing so may just give up now!

Well I think filling the thread with pointless drivel is fitting when you consider BG`s career and sermons!

I think this is another case study of why living to a really old age sucks for the majority of people who reach it.The man has his marbles but can`t use it really due to his failing body.To lose your hearing AND eyesight to the extent that communication is very difficult whilst having your mental faculties must be a living hell .To live nearly a decade without a spouse who you devoted the majority of your life to is pretty sad in itself but when you are confined to your house you can`t take your mind off it.I guess though that Kirk Douglas and Olivia de Havilland show that sometimes you can still be semi active and when approaching a century.I do hope that Billy gets some enjoyment out of his big day though! Well, he got more joy out of it than we did, eh? Looks like he might enjoy Christmas at our expense too. Maybe Jesus`s Birthday present this year is an overdue meeting with Billy.

Easy, just act like a massive asshole and she will dump you. When you say flatmate, do you actually live in the same flat and she just has the room next door to yours, or does she actually live next door? If it's the first, then this is piss easy, you just do things like get drunk and piss in her wardrobe, or leave porn DVDs in the player, or let her overhear you on the phone to all your other birds. If she lives next door, wait until she's home one night and then bang another bird really loudly up against your adjoining wall, while shouting 'THAT'S IT, AUNTY MARGARET, TAKE IT TO THE HILT IN YOUR BACK DOOR YOU FUCKING DIRTY OLD BITCH'. She will be kicking you in the bollocks and telling you to fuck off in no time. Brilliant haha!Unfortunately she has turned out to be a bit like Glenn Close in Fatal attraction. At least I don`t have a rabbit:P She lives in the room next door but we share a kitchen. -
Ha that will teach me not to post on threads at 4am !

I am with Sir Creep on this one he is very old and has heart problems.I also think that he is too big a name to take off and risk embarrassment also.

Have shot myself in the foot in the last week. Last Thursday I went on a big night out with my friends and got rather hammered. I then drunkenly got with my flatmate.I have no idea why even though I was drunk as she is rather irritating although well meaning. Suffice to say she now thinks we are going out and I am figuring out how to give her the boot without hurting her feelings and also due to the fact she lives right next door. Awkward times ahead indeed ! -
Looks like age spots on his hand.
-
I bet it won`t be AIDS that kills him.My money would be on a drug overdose or suicide.

Yes that would count but you link doesn`t seem to work. Ah, the "is" from my sentence made it into the link... http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/nov/16/former-creighton-president-schlegel-dies-at-72/ Yep that counts just as the obituary has been provided by the associated press. The Unknown man :213 Sir Creep:167 gcreptile:142 Death Impends:141 Shaun of the Dead :124 Morbidkid :121 Bibliogryphon:102 Grim up North :101 Captain Chorizo:73 Maryportfuncity:64 Handrejka:50 Rotten Ali:50 Jiroemon Kimura:19 Deathray :17 msc:15 Updated for Schlegel (another name I hadn`t heard of). That puts Sir Creep and gcreptile in second and third place respectively but both still a wide margin behind the unknown man. Also just checked and no one had Warren Mitchell.I could have sworn I saw his name on my master list but I am pretty sure I must be mistaken.
