I think this is another case study of why living to a really old age sucks for the majority of people who reach it.The man has his marbles but can`t use it really due to his failing body.To lose your hearing AND eyesight to the extent that communication is very difficult whilst having your mental faculties must be a living hell .To live nearly a decade without a spouse who you devoted the majority of your life to is pretty sad in itself but when you are confined to your house you can`t take your mind off it.I guess though that Kirk Douglas and Olivia de Havilland show that sometimes you can still be semi active and when approaching a century.I do hope that Billy gets some enjoyment out of his big day though!

All brilliant suggestions many thanks. The only exception is Tommy Chong as his prostate cancer is in remission and his rectal cancer is only Stage 1 so the prognosis is fairly good for him.I had no idea that Blazer or Kony were even ill"!

According to the statement, they "still do not have definitive test results indicating if there is any organ involvement, or the size of the tumours.":Looks like there could be more bad news on the way. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/rob-ford-chemo-1.3305855

Christ!I should think he will be on everyone`s list if he hangs in there long enough.

Update on Tony Booth.According to the BBC he is suffering from chronic heart failure as well having had alzheimer`s for 11 years now.He has also had a stroke and is 84.Surely time to put him on next year`s list?http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-34672403

Ali definitely needs to be on next year`s list.He along with Stephen Hawking are both severely ill , household names and have outlived their life expectancies and are both prone to infections.Despite only being in their 70`s they are in worse shape than most of the over 90`s on the list.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvmwpk5e4K0 :Given this interview was four years ago I am hardly surprised. If you go back far enough on his daughter`s Twitter there are pictues of him wearing Oxygen from 3 years ago.https://twitter.com/gigigraham2/media He looks like a man who could brely write his own name let alone a whole book.Where is the quote about hydrocephalus though?

I think you are being unduly harsh on criticising your decision to include Stewart. She has stage 4 breast cancer which was described by her physician as "the worst case he had ever seen".She was also given 18 months to live in December 2013.According to her website the cancer isn`t shrinking it is just the treatment is temporarily halting its progress. As soon as she becomes resistant to that she will most likely be dead in weeks but that information wasn`t known until recently. So no one would fault your logic for choosing her much like everyone who chose Wilko Johnson last year except she has not been cured far from it.Let`s not forget that she also has high blood pressure and breathing problems as well as diabetes which means she is at high risk of a heart attack, stroke ,pneumonia and also hyperglycaemia.

I was thinking earlier. How does everyone feel about foreign royalty?I would say there are four we should consider for next year: King Michael I of Romania (b 1921) Queen Anne of Romania(b 1923) Takahito,Prince Mikasa of Japan (b1915) Yuriko ,Princess Mikasa of Japan (b 1923) I accept that the last 3 may not be well known enough for the Deathlist ,however I can`t forsee any of them not getting an obituary in the UK.
-
No he won`t.Maybe a year or two if the treatment goes exceedingly well and there aren`t any complications but not over 4.Yes we did say the same about Zsa Zsa but she didn`t have stage 4 cancer.Remember he said the Doctors were highly suspicious that the cancer did not originate in his liver. If that is the case there is primary cancer tissue still to be found which has already been advanced enough to spread to two separate regions thus meaning it could very well spread somewhere else from said site.Even if it did orginate in the liver he is still in big trouble.Especially has he has four separate spots on the brain. One is bad enough but 4 is pretty dire indeed.

I think Prunella Scales and Brucie should be left off next year particularly Brucie as he only had a minor fall which although at 87 is serious doesn`t indicate that he is going anywhere soon.If there was a specific reason that he fell i.e a stroke or heart murmur then yes but just sounds like he lost his footing. He is probably the healthiest celebrity over 85 so I think there is little justification for putting him on the list.Yes Prunella has deteriated severely but Alzheimers tends not to precipate a fatal complication such as pneumonia for several years and I think she only fell ill a couple of years ago or so I would leave her off for a year or two but certainly one to watch closely.

I came across Billy"s eldest daughters twitter page. She states she has four great grandchildren making Billy a great great grandad. Is that a first for the Deathlist?

Ricky Tomlinson said she was doing much better earlier this year and that there may be a Royle Family Christmas special this year but nothing since. EDIT:Found this http://www.chortle.co.uk/news/2015/10/14/23390/caroline_aherne_to_make_a_rare_tv_appearance

Ok here is my full judgements for what they are worth: Keep on the List: 1)Herman Wouk 2)João Havelange 3)Olivia de Havilland 4)Kirk Douglas 5)Zsa Zsa Gabor 6)Vera Lynn 7)Billy Graham 8)Helmut Schmidt 9)Al Molinaro 10)Cliff Michelmore 11)Peter Sallis 12)Prince Philip 13)Nancy Reagan 14)Jake LaMotta 15)Liz Smith 16)Denis Norden 17)Henry Kissenger 18)Leslie Philips 19)George Bush Senior 20)Fidel Castro 21)Bhumibol Adulyadej 22)Helmut Kohl 23)Valerie Harper 24)Clive James 25)Joost van der Westhuizen Bring Back: 1)Peter Carrington 2)Abe Vigoda 3)Pierre Cardin 4)Stan Lee 5)Jerry Lewis 6)Fats Domino 7)Desmond Tutu 8)Stephen Hawking 9)Muhammad Ali New entries/ 1)Clare Hollingworth 2)Douglas Slocombe 3)David Rockefeller 4)Lady Mary Wilson 5)Jacque Fresco 6)I.M Pei 7)Diana Serra Carey 8)Sheila Mercier 9)Carol Channing 10)Boutros Boutros Ghali 11)Sumner Redstone 12)Jimmy Carter 13)Warren Mitchell 14)Greville Janner 15)Jimmy Hill 16)Howard Marks Yes I am aware I am contradicting myself from previous posts here but I promise not to speculate further for the rest of the year.Just goes to show how difficult the decisions are when it comes down to it.Unless something massive changes such as a "national treasure" is diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer or something. Below: Three substitutes who I think will probably not even make it to the starting line 1)Ian Brady 2)Huston Smith 3)Holly Woodlawn 4)Rene Angelil 5)Martin Crowe

If I heard she had died today I would not be the least bit surprised.
