    Shaun`s Death By Numbers

That is right on the limit of the margins of an acceptable obit but it has a title with her name and death mentioned and is part of a daily mail source however tentatively. In short if an obit fulfills the basic criteria (name and death directly mentioned title embedded in a source by the list I gave on page 1)points are awarded. Fair point.Does anyone remember any other former US presidents other than Kennedy who got newsflashes.

    1. Jimmy Carter

Oh yes, of course he will - NEWSFLASH: man in his 90's with agressive cancer has died! Well Mandela got a newsflash and was 95 and had been on a ventilator for 6 months.Just because a death is expected doesn`t mean the media won`t pretend otherwise.

    Brian Sewell

The controversial art critic Brian Sewell is now 84 and was diagnosed with metastatic head and neck cancer over a year ago which is now in his stomach and lungs. He was also being treated for a heart condition and has previously said he wants to kill himself.Surely a must have for next year if he is still breathing ? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2657993/How-cancer-left-Picasso-ear-Art-critic-Brian-Sewell-ebullient-surgery-firing-withering-barbs-enemies.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2974199/Cancer-stricken-art-critic-Brian-Sewell-stealing-paintings-trusted-friends-culprits.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/fameandfortune/11485082/Brian-Sewell-My-biggest-fear-is-mansion-tax.html http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/style/homes_and_gardens/My_Place/article1536246.ece http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/home/event/article-2970559/Brian-Sewell-facing-death-year-lucky-alive.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2362630/How-Im-going-commit-suicide-Brian-Sewell-A-shockingly-honest-beautifully-elegant-confession-Britains-celebrated-art-critic.html

It certainly would add a uniqueness to the game and soften the irritation at dead certs dying before the DDP deadline.

    Shaun`s Death By Numbers

Just throwing this idea out there: as all other games start on the obligatory Jan 1, perhaps this one could launch July1 as a fine midway point and we could capture a few names like Sacks etc that didn't pop on the radar till Feb but who likely weren't going to last through the year. Also a good way for us (well, me) to sit down and compile a midyear list that will help with homework come Dec 31. Again, just a thought. We did start at mid year anyway. Would give this game a uniqueness! SC[/quote I quite like this idea too.Anyone got any thoughts/objections?

    The New Dunn...

and father-in-law of Edward Woodward and grandfather to Emily Woodward but no relation to Ed Wood, Roy Wood or Woody Woodpecker or summat. So, what state - health-wise - is Roy Dotrice in? Pretty good for 92 as far as I know apart from being a bit thin and having previously fought cancer. Geoffrey Bayldon on the other hand looks pretty bad in this public appearance last year.Looks like a cold or fall could easily finish him off.

Is this new information, or yet another misinterpretation of his brief hospice stay while his wife was away? No it isn`t knew but it is clear from the article that his wife is providing hospice care of some sort at home on a permanent basis otherwise he wouldn`t have been admitted while she was away. No, it just means that his wife is his principal carer. It's not uncommon for people (even those not at death's door) to have short stays in a hospice to give their carers a respite. It's one of the functions of a hospice. Very true but the only people I have known to go into hospice for respite have been those with chronic conditions as opposed to terminal ones.I may well be looking too much into it but given the cancer type and the fact he has refused treatment and has subsequently deteriorated I still think the poor bloke is pretty much a dead cert for this year.

He is also the father of Michelle Dotrice who played Betty in Some mothers do ave em and Karen Dotrice the little girl out of MaryPoppins.

Well being in hospice care for a couple of months with a type of cancer that has a poorer prognosis than pancreatic cancer doesn't make another 3 months look likely.

    The New Dunn...

Just found out that Catweazle actor Geoffrey Bayldon is still alive.I assumed he had died years ago.He also played Worzel Gummidge so made a career playing characters older than he was at the time.

    Brian Sewell

Articles covering it would surely include a selection of his most memorable quotes and put downs Courtesy of the Independent: Sewell's sayingsOn Banksy: “Banksy should have been put down at birth ... His work has no virtue.” On Damien Hirst: “To own a Hirst is to tell the world that your bathroom taps are gilded and your Rolls-Royce is pink.” On David Hockney: “Half these pictures are fit only for the railings of Green Park, and would never be accepted for the Summer Exhibition were they sent in under pseudonyms.” On women in art: “Only men are capable of aesthetic greatness.” On contemporary art: “We pee on things, we pee into things, we pee over things ... and call it art.”

Amended accordingly he was of course in it all the time and has not resigned and why would he seeing as he is winning.Apologies for the mistakes.I have a chest infection so maybe a bit out of it .Don`t worry though I doubt I am on the way out but if I am I won`t obit unless I die in an outrageous fashion so don`t get too excited.

I quite liked him.Not afraid to say whatever the hell he liked :but he always had the intelligence and wit to come up with a good argument to back up his controversial comments.
