The palace have said his lung infection could have been caused by food , saliva or nasal secretions which could be a sign that the end is near.It usually has something to do with a malfunction is the throat whereby food and saliva are not swallowed correctly. My grandmother also had this problem after suffering a stroke and was dead within a week. http://www.timescolonist.com/thai-royal-palace-says-87-year-old-king-bhumibol-adulyadej-still-suffering-lung-infection-1.2057398

It is only a matter of time before someone keels over in one of his interviews.
-
are you kidding he looks as young as ever. I could mistake him for a man in his 20s Let's not forget that Denis Healey back in the day called him Mogadon Man and his political attacks were like being savaged by a dead sheep. This is Howe true to form. Yes he has never been charismatic at all really but he was fairly erudite which now he isn`t.

:Geoffrey Howe looks and sounds very frail in this recent interview.Looks like one for next years list.

If Chris Woodhead is considered famous enough.... Woodhead got a mention on the lunchtime news. Not sure Tovar would get that but she would get a UK obit which technically means she would be an eligible pick.
-
Is Lupita famous enough for the Death List though?I would say Baby Peggy was but no one else on this thread really.I suppose it depends on what you would call deathlist worthy.

Dickie Moore has died at 89, a couple of days before his birthday. http://deadline.com/2015/09/dick-moore-dead-former-child-star-jane-powell-husband-1201520917/ Edit: A unique hit in the DDP when it hits the UK papers. I also had him as a entry on my eponymous deadpool.Just looked him up on Twitter and was posing for pictures a few days ago.I only picked him because I heard he was senile.Hope he gets a qualifying obit for my pool otherwise I will look a prize tit!

I don`t know how exactly they know that smoking caused it.Even if it did though if I was 96 I don`t think I would give a shit about quitting.I knew a lady who was similar to Schmidt she quit at 92 and died at 94.At that age any damage from smoking will have been done and you are likely to die soon from old age anyway.

I have absolutely no idea who James R Messenger was but seeing as the Doug Stanthorpe site gave you the points and the link you gave seems legit I am confident that he is indeed deceased whoever the hell he was.Can you please enlighten me as to who he was out of personal curiosity?Anyhow you gave me a substiute for Amy Watts that is now on my master list so it is only right that you get to pick another name.Who would you like? This option will of course be open to anyone who has a candidate that died before they entered the game but wasn`t reported on.

What Do You Think Of The 2015 Death List?
Sean replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList Forum
I am still willing to back this list and the DL committee.Last year I thought they were perhaps a little too risky but this year I think they have been really good. The only two I think they really should have had on this list were Muhammad Ali and Sir Nicholas Winton and only one of them has died. When I first saw the list the only two picks I thought seemed a bit crummy were Nash and Kerkorian and they have both carked it.They brought back some old candidates like George Cole and Patrick Macnee which proved successful and have a fair number of regular candidates who we don`t want to miss when they eventually go such as Douglas, Graham, Gabor ,Havelange, Molinaro, LaMotta ,de Havilland, Schmidt and Castro.Ten hits by August is impressive in itself and even quite a few of the candidates who are still with us now have showed a lot of potential.Leslie Phillips stopped breathing at the beginning of the year but was revived so that was a close call. Helmut Kohl has been in intensive care ,Valerie Harper had a funny turn a few weeks ago,Helmut Schmidt had a blood clot in his leg,Clive James cancer has come out of remission,George Bush broke his neck in a fall , Bhumibol has continued to suffer various ailments and Crowe looks like a dead cert for this year. All in all a good effort so far I have to say. -
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/sep/08/thailands-king-bhumibol-being-treated-for-blood-infection:Bhumibol has an inflamed lung and a blood infection as well as low blood pressure a high fever and chills. He is receiving antibiotics and oxygen.

http://www.fifa.com/about-fifa/news/y=2006/m=5/news=joao-havelange-celebrates-90th-birthday-104160.html:Found this old article from 2006 that states he had a pacemaker fitted shortly before his 90th birthday. This could be significant as pacemakers need to be replaced every 10 years.I wonder if they will try to replace it next year given the fact that Havelange will be 100 then and has had a history of infections which will have undoubtedly weakened him.

Just looked on his twitter feed .Looks grim indeed.Another one for next years list I think.

I'm sorry but suicide is admiral - it's a rather final expression of someones willpower, courage and determination combining physical nerve with mental fortitude. The majority of people who contemplate offing themselves are incapable of following through, me included in times gone by, so it's right to have admiration for those who follow through. It's also right to pity them and be upset at their death. In some cases I agree such as you find out you have a horrible disease that will lead to a horrible death. Also cases such as self sacrifice that leaders in military battles sometimes carry out is I suppose admirable. Many cases of suicide though result from severe mental illness when someone is not in a fit state of mind to logically think through the situation.

I am fed up with the holier than thou attitude of those saying "oh they are very vulnerable people let them in" without thinking how many people can be classified as a refugee not only in Syria but around the world. I am guessing it is millions when you add up all the war torn countries. The issue is people are thinking with their hearts not their heads. If you do big U-Turns saying if you come here illegally you are welcome then the problem will continue multiplying. The poor boy who died and had his picture splashed over the pages was of course desperately sad but so is the death of any child who drowns. I fail to see how it is Britain's fault. We donated £900 million in foreign aid for Christ sake. The do-gooders also don`t want to go to war with ISIS as they fear more people will flee and come here despite the fact that millions have already left. Thank God they weren't in charge during WW2.As for Germany I despair. They should mind their own business when it comes to how many refugees other countries should let in.

Lets not forget DL 2013 when we had 4 hits in December.Lets face it the list still has a lot of people in shite health and a lot of very old people so we should get a few more. Crowe will probably go soon as he has been in hospice care for at least 6 weeks.

Guilty as fuck.

Betty Driver Memorial Soapstar Superstar Thread
Sean replied to M Busby Airlines's topic in DeathList Forum
Who was a budding alcoholic out of those lot? I saw an episode a couple of weeks ago and Eileen,Barbara and Bill all look3d pretty good despite the fact they are all in their 80s.Liz Dawn I don't think will last too many years though as she has been ill a very long time.Johnny Briggs I think has been unwell and is having family problems and looked awful when Anne Kirkbride died.Julie Goodyear looks pretty rough these days and does smoke like a chimney so is worth keeping an eye on and Jean Alexander is getting very old now. Johnny Briggs come to think of it turns 80 today! Happy Birthday Johnny! For some reason I thought Briggs had had issues with alcohol must have got that wrong. Although he does look bloody unwell in recent photos of him and quite guant compared to Bill Roache who's three years his senior. By his family problems do you mean his drug addict daughter who he disowned years ago for introducing her own daughter to heroin? If so I can't see that taking too much toll on him at this point. Julie Goodyear apparently used to sit in a silk gown and chainsmoke only breaking to do scenes. That's got to store up liver problems over a twelve hour day. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3207904/Coronation-Street-star-Johnny-Briggs-daughter-breaches-ASBO-banning-shop-Surrey-just-six-days-imposed.html:Yep Daughter and Grandaughter are heroin addicts who are repeatedly shop lifting and violating ASBO`S.Even though he has disowned the stress must be immense and judging by the look of the pair of them they could both overdose which could cause him more stress. He had a prostate operation and underwent tests for skin cancer.I do wonder if he has suffered a stroke though as his face looked funny and his speech strange when he was interviewed after Kirkbrides death.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REDZN7Q2Flgm:Appears a 2:30 Julie Goodyear has been widely reported as smoking 60 a day and even took in enough cigarettes when she went in big brother to give her 100 a day.She did give up a few years ago but went back. When she quit in 2007 she estimated she had smoked a million in her lifetime. -
Is Schmidt the oldest living current celebrity smoker? The only others over 70 I can think of are: June Brown 88 Stuart Hall 85 Antony Booth 83 Lionel Blair 83 Willie Nelson 82 (weed only now) Glenda Jackson 79 Vanessa Redgrave 78 Jack Nicholson 78 David Hockney 78 Tommy Chong 77 (weed) Al Pacino 75 Queen Magrethe II 75 Ken Clarke 75 (cigars) Julie Goodyear 73 Penny Marshall 71 Joni Mitchell 71 -until stroke at least Keith Richards 71 -Tobacco and weed and everything else probably. Laila Morse 70 Howard Marks 70-weed
