Was wondering this earlier when I tried to make a list of survivors from the Golden Age of Hollywood.I reckon Kirk will go first. Of course Kirk will go first; women always live longer than men. Tell that to Kirk`s first wife

Betty Driver Memorial Soapstar Superstar Thread

Who was a budding alcoholic out of those lot? I saw an episode a couple of weeks ago and Eileen,Barbara and Bill all look3d pretty good despite the fact they are all in their 80s.Liz Dawn I don't think will last too many years though as she has been ill a very long time.Johnny Briggs I think has been unwell and is having family problems and looked awful when Anne Kirkbride died.Julie Goodyear looks pretty rough these days and does smoke like a chimney so is worth keeping an eye on and Jean Alexander is getting very old now. Johnny Briggs come to think of it turns 80 today! Happy Birthday Johnny! -
[Robin Williams in August 2014]: "I'm sick of life, finally I can end it and have my eternal peace." [shaun of the Dead in September 2015]: "I'll use my resurrecting abilities to bring Robin Williams back to life." [Robin Williams]: "Huh? What the hell, I'm back again? WHAT JERK DID THIS TO ME?" Well minus the Lewy Body dementia that drove him to suicide.

Who Will Win The Leadership Election?
Sean replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Benn had his faculties right up until the end.I didn`t agree with him politically on most things but he was a very clever and principled man who could command respect from every divide of the political spectrum and was a fantastic speaker.I think he was unique in doing so and think that Corbyn is a poor comparison.Maybe I am comparing them too heavily on charisma but it is incredibly important in a leader.I cannot think of a single great politician who didn`t posses charisma in abundance. -
Statistically, it's a probability of around 40%, according to U.S. social security statistics. Hmm, could be the closest one ever got, except for that team that missed Norman Wisdom's death by a year - oh, and the one banking on Ariel Sharon, that must have been a frustrating wait. Edit: Hmm, I had forgotten I had picked Oliver Sacks here. Made my decision not to choose him for Shaun's deadpool even sillier. If it makes you feel better I chose Stokes on the Rotten Dead Pool as well as LaTourette but forgot about them when it came to my own pool.I know LaTourette isn`t dead yet but I would put money on him dying this year.

Oh I can narrow it down to several:Christopher Hitchens ,Joan Rivers,Rik Mayall,Robin Williams ,Oliver Read,Keith Moon, Richard Harris ,Jimi Hendrix ,Bob Marley, Winston Churchill and John Wayne.

If he was in recovery mode he wouldn`t have asked the Doctor`s how much longer he had to live.

I don`t think we will ever become immortal and it would cause ww3 if we did achieve biological immortality because services would collapse under the strain of so many people. As Steve Jobs said "death is the single best invention of life" and he was quite right. The world cannot continually reproduce sustainably if people don`t make way for subsequent generations. The scientific literature I have read on the matter show there is some consensus of the theory that there is a maximum human life span of roughly 120 (the oldest verified woman ever was 122).The late Dr Stephen Coles also found that the main cause of death in supercentenarians was a sticky mucas like substance in the artery walls and that it was not correlated with any specific illness just the body not reproducing properly anymore.I can forsee in my lifetime a life expectancy of about 100 with super centenarians becoming as common as perhaps centenarians are. I think the Doctors research priorities are rightly focused on diseases such as Alzheimers ,Cancer Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinsons rather than discovering biological immortality .I do agree Keira that the suicide rate is likely to go up in the future due to secularisation , more demand for assisted dying and more people becoming disconnected from reality through the growth in online communication at the expense of face to face interaction.

Things To Do While Waiting For Death

Gerald? Gerald Sim is dead. His sister Sheila is still going as is the actress Sylvia Sims. -
In worldwide terms probably Norman Lloyd.

I thought Healey was a Yorkshireman? Surely the oldest celebs in Ireland are Liam Cosgrave and Maureen O`Hara?
-
Their father only lived until his late 70`s so maybe the other two sisters had his genes. Also Eva`s decline was triggered by a fall so if she hadn`t fallen she may have lived a lot longer .

I would think Olivia will outlive Zsa Zsa but some creaking doors take a hell of a long time to finally shut.

Interesting names and none of which I can remember hearing of before!I`m from England and over hear the oldest celebrity I would say is probably Vera Lynn who is Number 48 on the list.It all depends on what you mean by celebrity. There are several people in Britain who are notable such as Clare Hollingworth (103) Douglas Slocombe (102)Jeremy Hutchinson (100) and Baroness Mary Wilson of Riveaulx (99) but none of these could be considered a "star" even though they will all get obituaries and credit when they go.

I think Bettencourt has Alzheimers as her family fought over control of her assetts a few years back.

Interesting you should mention Marks.I googled him earlier and found that he has a new documentary revealing that he was actually a prolific ectasy dealer as well.He looked a bit better than he did a few months ago but maybe that was just because his hair has grown back after chemo. He revealed his involvement in supplying ectasy as he "didn`t give a fuck anymore" , I don't think I would either in his shoes.

Zsa Zsa is not secretly dead.In fact we will know within minutes of her death as Von Arsehole will immediately invite photographers to take pictures of her corpse.Lets face it he will need the money. When she goes he has to move house which ain`t cheap when you have as much tat as them.
-
Difficult to say whether smoking caused it or old age.Could easily be either or a combination of both.

It just struck me that I have not specified what happens in the event of a tie.If a tie occurs the winner will be decided based upon the number of hits they have.If that is the same also then I will calculate the mean average age of the players hits and the player with the youngest mean average of hits will be crowned winner. If that fails then it is a tie.

Ooh I half wish that my workplace would go bust.Having said that the other half of me wouldn`t want the workers to lose their jobseven though 90% are as miserable as sin being there and can barely pair their bills despite working their arses off. -
Indeed and there is potential for a hell of a lot of hits. The points might even get to 4 digits!
