Maybe it is just extreme old age. After all 94 for a man is bloody old and at that age the body and mind can just slow down for no other reason than wear and tare.

    Rotten Dead Pool

Got my first hit with Louis Stokes! Here is my final list 1 Bhumibol Adulyadej 2 Zsa Zsa Gabor 3 Billy Graham 4 Helmut Kohl 5 Steven LaTourette 6 Leslie Phillips 7 Daisy Berkowitz 8 Oliver Sacks 9 Lynne Stewart 10 Louis B. Stokes *ends 26/6/16 I am feeling very confident that I will get La Tourette and Sacks and fairly confident about Berkowitz Stewart and Kohl. The rest I am not sure about although if any dropped down dead tommorrow I wouldn`t be the least bit surprised.Just annoyed I entered the list too early to include Carter but hey you can`t get them all!!

Neither did I but the rules only specify yahoo so it certainly does count. That`s 40 points!Well played!

    1. Jimmy Carter

Also his wife Rosalyn turned 88 today. Her and Jimmy have been married over 69 years and are by all accounts incredibly close.Could Jimmy`s demise be shortly followed by his wife as is seen with some elderly couples?

    Cliff Michelmore

That`s the thing with Cliff. He has been out of the limelight for decades and I doubt anyone under 40 remembers him.I had no idea who he was until I found this site.

    George Bush Senior

I doubt he will and I hope Carter goes first for two reasons. The first being that I don`t hate George Bush senior and wouldn`t wish him an imminent demise (especially as he isn`t in my DDP this year).Secondly as much as I would love Jimmy to prove us all wrong and carry on another couple of years it`s extremely unlikely and I would rather he didn`t suffer and linger in pain even if it means he goes in a few weeks.

    1. Jimmy Carter

The fact he is giving us the information in dribs and drabs I am almost certain is a way of slowly bracing everyone for the news that he is dying. As he has a large extended family and many friends and associates I am guessing he is telling them all everything before addressing the public.

June Brown is the second oldest current serving soap opera actress after June Spencer of the archers who is 96 (b 1919).Close behind the two June`s are Emmerdale`s Freddie Jones (b 1927) ,Coronation Streets Eillen Derbyshire (b 1930),William Roache (b 1932) and Barbara Knox (b 1933) and the Archers Edward Kelsey (b 1930) Patricia Greene (b 1931) and Lesley Saeward (b c1934).All highly obitable.

Well it sounds like she is out of the woods however cancer does have a horrible habit of coming back and at nearly 90 if it does treatment will only get harder. The pacemaker is significant as I am pretty sure you have to replace them every few years and at her age that could be serious.I am not sure whether she should go on the list but if she was put on the list next year I would understand why much like I do with Kerchaval and Large this year. She was wise to keep up the screening program for pancreatic cancer.I read somewhere that Carter stopped his screenings a few years ago which is probably why he is in huge trouble now.

She is definately one to keep an eye on.As soon as she can no longer work she strikes me as someone who would just give up.She already said she doesn`t want to live past 90 or be resuscitated and that along with her age and chain smoking surely makes her a serious contender next year.
  14. His death would knock her for 6 but she is well enough and tough enough to carry on. She still has a large family and loads of duties to fulfil. If Lizzie went first I think Phil would go downhill quickly though. He isn`t as well as her and although he is her support system I can`t help but think it would affect him more because without her he would have no one to support and no official role to fulfil.

I kind of hope he makes 100.He does add so much needed humour into royal events.Imagine how boring Charles and Camilla will be when they take over.

    Jeremy Corbyn

He looks healthy but as you say that amount of pressure can`t be too healthy.Look how much Brown and Blair aged not to mention Obama.I don`t think he will be elected prime minister unless there was a catastrophe during the next 5 years. Is it just me or doesn`t he look a miserable old sod.No charisma or sense of humour or even facial expressions except that of a smacked arse.He makes John Major look bloody interesting.

    Which Names Would You Drop?

    I would bring back: 1)Peter Carrington 2)Abe Vigoda 3)Stan Lee 4)Jerry Lewis 5Fats Domino 6)James Randi 7)Ian Brady 8)Stephen Hawking 9)Muhammad Ali Newbies: 1)Clare Hollingworth 2)Douglas Slocombe 3)David Rockefeller 4)June Foray 5)Sheila Mercier 6)Jimmy Carter 7)Greville Janner 8)Jimmy Hill 9)Brian Sewell 10)Antony Booth 11)Oliver Sacks 12)Burt Reynolds 13)John Hurt 14)Howard Marks 15)Tim Curry 16)Malcolm Young

    Olivia De Havilland

I would advise against ever taking her off DL.We don`t want another Patrick Moore and beside when Priebke and Pincher turned 100 everyone went on about how great they look.Centenarians can deteriate rapidly. Plus if the committee left off a 100 year old double Oscar Winner it would look fairly foolish is she died.I think that any candidates born before 1920 should be on until they die.

    The Dead Of 2015

Ooh his name wasn`t in the title so not via this article however upon googling his name the Mirror`s headlines would have given you the points yes.It doesn`t matter how unknown the individual is , if one of the sources I have on the list publishes a story with the individuals name (first second or nickname) and the fact they are dead then they qualify for Death by numbers points.

    Shaun`s Death By Numbers

There is no fame criteria only obituary criteria. If he had been nominated before he died.Which I don`t think he was.Was he?Anyway yes he would have scored points but only if the nomination had been posted prior to his death even if it was explicitly obvious he was going.I also have not disallowed any death row inmates or hostages but their has to be sufficient proof they are dead but the obit criteria will sort that out.You can switch any nominations by the end of Sunday night but after that nominations are locked except for new entries.
  24. Dame Maggie and Shirley Maclaine seem the most likely but both seem in fine form for 80 and 81.
