taffia77 0 Posted December 23, 2004 Okay, this is probably a really dumb post, but I'm new to this site and was wondering how nominations work. I've got a few up my sleeve, so can someone tell me the form? Sorry, I appreciate this has probably been asked loads of times!
Death Watch Beatle 41 Posted December 23, 2004 The 2005 list is being drawn-up by the admin. people at the moment and will be published on the 1st January. Any ideas and suggestions for inclusion need to be posted in the forum and people can then discuss the finer points of each candidate. There are no guarantees that your nominations will make it to the list, but if you feel strongly for an individual, make your point in the forum. Most importantly, if you know of a reason why they won't make it to next Christmas, let everyone know! Don't forget to use the search facility to find out if your suggested person already has a thread running. DWB
Loco 0 Posted February 5, 2005 Just wanted to announce my arrival... I'm a veteran stiffologist of a number of years and run my own Dead Pool with a few of my mates as well as having a team entered on the Derby Dead Pool. It's my intention to spend a bit more time studying the science of stiffology this year with a view to putting together a winning team for Deathlist in 2006. There's nowt like a bit of forward planning!
eejit 9 Posted February 5, 2005 Stiffology? You'll find no porn on this site.
Death Watch Beatle 41 Posted February 5, 2005 Welcome aboard. Which team is yours in the DDP? - Just out of amateur interest you understand. DWB
Loco 0 Posted February 5, 2005 I'm co-manager of The Doffin' Codgers with a work colleague... we've gone 50/50 on the celebs - although I did pick Ivan Noble! Eejit, is Stiffology not the study of Dead Pools then? If not, I think it should be!
Rotten Ali 600 Posted February 5, 2005 <<<------ sick as a mule for not having that old German Max"Smelling" in my Derby Dead Pool team. I'm falling down it, almost as fast as on my other dead pool site (or would be if my new friend Rude Kid kicked S.B. to update faster than "when time allows") - that of rotten.com's.... http://deadpool.rotten.com/ Now thats a site for stiffologists if ever I saw one Loco! Pictures in their main site showing grafic photos such as Brazilian Ferrari sports car driver wearing lots of steel "armco" barrier, German motobiker without a jaw and nose after going that little bit too fast past his handle bars, etc, etc add in-finitem. They don't seem to be updating the photos now but the back issues are just too nasty not to miss! Anyway I'm holding down 3 out of 10 hits since the 1st of September, and positioned at about 1,809 of about 35,000 players. Any one else on this "deadpool.rotten.com" site also? I would like to cross reference every now and again with DDP and other rotten madcap types.
Tuber Mirum 126 Posted February 5, 2005 Any one else on this "deadpool.rotten.com" site also? I can think of one, but I'd hate to tempt fate by mentioning his name. Talk of the devil and all that.
Diana De Sisac 0 Posted February 23, 2005 I've just found this site and have read through it, finding a lot of interesting stuff about famous people who I've either thought had died, and hadn't, and those who I thought hadn't died, and had! If that makes any sense! Anyway, I just wanted to say, "hi", and add a few names to the list of people who I think may be, "shrugging off this moral coil", within the next 12 months. Norman Wisdom Sir John Mills Mollie Sugden Frank Bough Apologies if any of the names mentioned are already on any lists.
Anubis the Jackal 77 Posted February 23, 2005 Norman WisdomSir John Mills Mollie Sugden Frank Bough Messers Wisdom and Mills have been done to death, as it were, elsewhere on the list. Try the 'Search' function in the top right. Bough and Sugden however are fresh meat and certainly deserve discussion. I recall tales of Boughie going into the gay sex shop next door to where I used to work to buy certain paraphenalia prior to his 'coke and hookers shame.' If he hasn't given up the powder maybe a premature popping off could be on the cards. For our foreign listers, Bough was an avuncular sports broadcaster who was rumbled by the tabloids for nefarious activities in the late 80's The story
Josco 49 Posted February 23, 2005 As mentioned elsewhere, the search function is currently in a sulk. I tried to search for a fellow called Doherty with no results. But put in 'Peter' (or Pete) and there are some returns, but not Peter Doherty. Of course, this could be deliberate as some people think that Mr Doherty has been done to death already
Our Sole 5 Posted February 23, 2005 Looks like Frank had a liver transplant in 2001 and has been picked by two teams on the DDP. Couldn't find much on Mollie (in between my work breaks) although a couple of sites did say she was not in good health and at 82/83 she must be worth a look if she sees the year out. Diana De Sisac 0 Posted February 24, 2005 I did discover, from looking around this website after having entered my previous post, that Mssrs. Mills and Wisdom have indeed been, "done to death." Apologies for that. I did try using the, "search", but as has been mentioned, it didn't work the last time I visited. I always thought that Mollie Sudgen was getting on a bit in AYBS, so thought she'd be a prime candidate for kicking the bucket, soon. She was looking her age in that follow-up the the, "Liverbirds", some years ago. Also, as an after-thought, there is also Frank Thornton, who I believe is currently in, "Last Of The Summer Wine", who's gettin on a bit, too. Other names who I've since thought of are:- Melvyn Hayes. John Noakes. Kenneth Kendall. Dick Van Dyke. Harry Morgan. Red Buttons. Ernest Borgnine.

Handrejka 1,905 Posted February 24, 2005 Mollie is a stubborn old bugger. I've had her on my list for the past three years and she's still going. Wasn't she mistakenly reported as dead about 5 years ago?
Rotten Ali 600 Posted February 24, 2005 I don't know!!!!!!! I don't know what to use, I don't know where to get it from, I don't just know how to make my computer do it!!! I just don't know! Amanda 3 Posted February 26, 2005 Thank you Rotten Ali! I did try and do something with the stuff that you gave me, e.g. download it and open it (coz that's what Hotmail told me do) and when I tried, Hotmail kept booting me out and asking for my password over and over and over .... and in the end I gave up. Bloody Hotmail. Bloody computers. Bloody car. Bloody rubbish snow.
Grim Reaper 186 Posted March 2, 2005 As mentioned elsewhere, the search function is currently in a sulk. The main search now only works for actual DeathLists...however the forum search in the row beneath the main search is fully functioning for searching the forum. Just a bit of retraining needed
Tuber Mirum 126 Posted March 2, 2005 It's going to increase the likelihood of duplicate threads though. So the mods are going to have to work a bit harder if the main search doesn't get fixed. I don't expect removing it completely would help, if that were possible?
