Russian submarine

Recommended Posts

The US Navy is sending two specialist rescue submarines to help retrieve a Russian mini-submarine trapped more than 600ft below the Pacific.

What goes up must come down[1], but the other way around isn't always true. That's why I avoid submarines.

[1] Excepting the few cases in which escape velocity is reached ;)

Hein

What's the difference between a Russian submarine & a used condom?

Nothing - they are both full of dead se(a)men

Wow that's a bad joke.

Plus, a used condom can still have living semen in it for a while.

You know, I think we need a sort of news thread, will put everything together in one thread.

So can a Russian submarine.

I'm adding Russian submariner to the list of professions most likely to end in death.

And isn't that a picture of the submarine The Penguin sailed in the Batman movie? The original Batman movie from the 1960's, not the Tim Burton/Joel Schumacher rubbish or the latest one with Katie Holmes.

The Navy - as in the good old UK navy - are sending a rescue sub. It left needing twenty hours to get there when that lot have a maximum of maybe twenty four hours of air.

If I was on that sub I'd kill everyone else pronto and give myself a couple of days worth of air. I'm sure a decent solicitor could get me off with a plea of temporary insanity brought on by stress.

Crew safe after mini-sub rescue

MOSCOW, Russia (CNN) -- The seven-man crew of a trapped Russian mini-submarine are back in port after a three-day ordeal at the bottom of the Pacific with dwindling oxygen.

The Russians are very grateful to the UK Navy. I think we on the DL should express our gratitude to the Russians for having a big underfunded navy that loves to carry out ambitious exercises.

See you soon on another thread Ruskies.

See you soon on another thread Ruskies.

While entertaining, this whole subject seems pointless. Few Russian naval staff are celebreties and they rarely announce their excercises far enough ahaid for DL purposes, if at all. :P

This might work for cosmonauts, though.

Hein

I thought the whole point of the Deathlist was entertainment?

A correct observation, but some topics are more entertaining than others. I think the best entertainment value is in discussing the deaths, actual or hoped for, of people who are, or ought to be, on the list.

Oh well, never mind. At least those poor submariners aren't children.

Hein

I think the best entertainment is from discussing the possible deaths of people on the list. Next best is discussing the deaths of famous people not on the list. Lastly (but still entertaining) is discussing death & dangerous situations in general.
