Mississippi is also one of those states that do not use federal funds to provide safe infrastructure, safe drinking water, etc. for their citizens. Instead they give the money to millionaire football players like Brett Favre. Very sad for them; I've been there once and hopefully never going again.

Can't help wondering what the late Pat Robertson would make of it. Would it be God's punishment on the 6 week abortion ban? Or the Don't Say Gay bill? Oh no, Pat wouldn't be for all that.

An earthquake has to be 7+ to be considered major. There are only on average 15 of those per year on the entire planet.

There are variations from year to year. It goes up and down, but there's no evidence to suggest they're becoming more or less frequent in general.

Cheers, it's not something I pay much attention to, living in a country where your earthquakes are rare and having forgotten everything about tectonic plates I ever learned in Geography (might have been my second year of Secondary School, I gave the subject up).

 

So that was a looong time ago. 

 

I guess I see the reports on here and on the tellybox and am more aware of them.

I didn't feel it in Boston but other people I know did.

It is unusual here.

I lived in California and Washington state, and went through 6.8 and 7.2 earthquakes respectively there that I did feel.

I felt it in NJ. Second earthquake I felt in my life, first was 2011.

 

 

Earthquakes are so extremely rare in NJ that both times were just a minute of mild shaking yet I felt like the world was going to end. Today it took me about an hour for my nerves to fully settle.

I felt it in New Jersey as well. The first earthquake I felt since 2011.
